Fantastic little toy shop. It's bigger than it looks from the outside and it's filled to the brim with awesome toys. When I say awesome -- I mean really carefully curated. Lots of wonderful toys, books, and games. Plenty of educational ones and tons of those that are just plain fun. You will find unique stuff here, for sure. Oh and their puppet selection rocks. We bought our little girl a super adorable mutant rat puppet for Christmas (much cuter than it sounds, haha). They had a giant clown puppet but I was sadly vetoed by the other half. We had no issue leaving our stroller outside -- there is room to "park." I love, love this place. In a time when you can get anything online, stores like this one are like walking back in time. They have a wide variety of items for all ages. I only wish their book selection was a bit bigger. Prices seem reasonable, if you keep in mind you are supporting a small business. This place is incredible! Stopped in today while visiting the area and it is the most magical toy store I've ever seen. They have a small section where they've made a book nook, a vintage toy section, lots of boutique style toys by top name brands like Melissa & Doug, Tender Leaf Toys, etc. Lots of wood, Montessori, and stem type toys. Even as a mom of two young kids and many nephews I shop for, so many of the toys I had not seen before and all unique. The space is dark so every toy pops against the wall and stands out. As an adult I felt like it was a magical experience. Like any of the cute shops in Old Town Spring, I could spend a day in this toy store. It is filled wall to wall with toys and board games from my childhood (80s baby!), unique finds, and therapy toys. As a pediatric occupational therapist, this toy store is like heaven. They sell Melissa & Doug brand products. They come up with the greatest toys to get your child learning while having fun. Sensory wise, it's a little overwhelming. If you bring your kids here, I'm sure they'll find something they like. I love the old school Game of Life board game, tee pee tents, fairy house, and play kitchens. Oh and, don't forget about the unicorn section. It's magical! If you've ever been to Toy Joy in Austin, it's pretty comparable to that. We were in the Woodlands, Texas and took a drive to Spring, TX because I found this place on Yelp. This toy store is awesome! They have some similar toys that you would find in a Walmart or Target, but some unusual things that you couldn't find at the big chain stores. The best part of the experience is the customer service. The lady helping us was super nice and very knowledgeable about the toys and selection she had available in the age range we were looking for. Overall, I would definatley support this mom & pop store again. It was affordable, you can get some things you can't get at the big chains and the customer service is second to none. read more

What a fun toy store. We were shopping in Old Town Spring and happened upon this store. So glad we did. They have so many unique and different toys for kids of all ages. Even toys for grown-ups. We bought a unique puzzle for our granddaughter and one for ourselves, it had a lot more pieces! The ladies working there are great and they even gift wrapped the puzzle in a white gift bag with pretty tissue paper and tulle. They have toys that you won't find elsewhere. I visited this store recently with my husband, looking for something to surprise our son with, while we strolled Old Town Spring. I was extremely surprised with the store simply because it looks smaller than it is and they've got it packed with so much stuff that you really are constantly seeing something new. The decor is amazing, the selection is great, and the pricing ranges from very reasonable to 'you've got to be kidding me'. A lot of their toys are things that you can easily find at other toy stores or online. Especially if you want to spend less on some of the larger items, you can snap them up from online retailers. BUT if you want an in-store experience, you can probably find anything you'd like here...some form of it. My issue wasn't the store so much as it was the employees. A lot of stores in Old Town Spring are run by the owners and I didn't step into a single shop that day without a friendly greeting from the person sitting at the front...well, until I went into Why Not Toys. There was a woman walking around the area in front of the register and she threw glances at people but never uttered a word. Not really a big deal, and she did attempt to help someone who approached her with a question. But when we chose our toy and approached the register it was the woman that checked us out that kind of irritated me. I REALLY hope she wasn't the owner...but at the same time, I hope she wasn't just an employee. We walked up, placed our item on the counter and stood there. She took almost a minute to finish doing what she was doing. Never said, "Hi, how are you today? " "Did you find what you were looking for?" "I'll be right with you"...nothing. She just went about her business and acted like we weren't there. Finally she picks up our item to scan and asked "Is this it?" No friendly tone, just very flat like she was bored or ready to be done with her day. We said yes and she didn't say another word until she scanned our card and I didn't respond to the Debit or Credit question on the card machine fast enough. It was only then that she prompted me "debit?" and that was that. Finished printing our receipts, put it in a bag and laid it on the counter. She was done with us and I was a little put off. I was in a toy store, full of music and color and fun...and that's my experience with the only employee in the place. They had a sign that said they were hiring and I hope they find someone more appropriate than that. Everyone can have a bad day...but that was my first time shopping there and I'm not really thinking about going back. Which is unfortunate because my kids would love it there. But if that's what we got, I can only imagine what my kids might get when they're touching toys and maybe being loud. read more

One of the best toy stores I've been to in a long time. We stopped in with 4 young ones as we strolled through Old Town Spring and the kids just loved it. They have displays that kids can actually play with and have a variety of unique, hard to find toys in a cozy, small shop environment. Their prices are decent and their staff was friendly. We bought a few things and were able to keep an eye out on Santa's behalf as the kids wandered through the store. I come here every year for Christmas gifts for my kids. They have such cute, unique ideas and such a wide range of options that you are sure to find something(s) for the little ones you're shopping for. When I bring my son in, we can spend hours (and I really mean hours) playing with the toys and I can get a feel for what he really wants for Christmas. The lady who works there never makes you feel like you are overstaying your welcome. She'll come check on you every now and then to see if you have any questions, but it's a very down-home, small town, local toy-store feel when you go in. It's such a refreshing change from the huge, assembly-line toy store experience I'm used to. I'm willing to spend a few dollars more for the experience, to support small businesses, and for fun, unique gifts for my kids. This place makes me happy, and my kids happy, too.
