Tasty muffins but no bagels and over priced. Not to mention they don't give out cup waters and the pitcher they use is always empty. I know because I've been here for four hours. Also extremely uncomfortable chairs. All they have to offer us is two small booths that were taken all day and hard chairs with small tables. Wouldn't ever come here again not to mention $1 for a bannnas seriously? $2.65 for a muffin and $3.65 for a small chai tea? LOL

This cafe is located inside the Barnes and Noble Book store and it featured Starbucks' coffee products, some of their pastries, and desserts from the Cheese Cake Factory. The also make sandwiches and gourmet food products such as chocolate covered nuts and popcorn. I stopped in after browsing the store a bit for some books I was interested in and ordered a grande cafe latte and walnut maple scone (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/barnes-and-noble-cafe-santee?select=jj4U5ZIXI9KjEDDVP8b_oA#K3lhhnlGrPKkbOhl-NDVfg). The latte was well made, at a typical Starbucks quality, with it strong yet smooth flavor. The maple walnut scone was great and had a nice glossy crusty exterior (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/barnes-and-noble-cafe-santee?select=jj4U5ZIXI9KjEDDVP8b_oA#z2MdFTg9AgYdjdpOcVX2RA). Its maple flavor was on point and the walnuts tasted fresh and were crunchy. The scone inside was moist for the most part, but the ends easily crumbled away (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/barnes-and-noble-cafe-santee?select=jj4U5ZIXI9KjEDDVP8b_oA#0fQnbcNyfwVMRqZBgMZbIw). Although the cheese cake slices were beckoning me to indulge, I resisted this time around (http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/barnes-and-noble-cafe-santee?select=jj4U5ZIXI9KjEDDVP8b_oA#--MwKe2nV47xSjio42jphQ). Service was upbeat, although we had a little trouble getting a receipt out if the register, the manager stepped in and acquired one from the back office. The two individuals who were running the cafe were very friendly and expedient. The only thing I would suggest would be to provide sturdier chairs inside.

I stopped by the Santee Trader Joe's about an hour before closing. Normally, I do my grocery…read moreshopping on Fridays, but because of the holiday, I decided to wait. I was worried the shelves would be picked over, but I'm so glad I did! It was Monday, and everything was fully stocked with all of my personal favorites and as always the store well organized . One thing I've noticed is that every Trader Joe's has its own unique selection of products. Some locations seem to carry items that others don't, which I'm guessing has a lot to do with the size of the store. But one thing that remains consistent at every Trader Joe's I've visited is the people. I honestly don't think I've ever encountered a rude or disgruntled employee. The staff is always welcoming, genuinely friendly, and more than willing to help. They don't just point you in the right direction--they actually take the time to have real conversations with their customers. That personal touch makes every shopping trip feel enjoyable. I've discovered so many new products simply because a crew member recommended them or shared one of their personal favorites. It's one of the reasons I always leave with something new to try. And somehow, I learn something new every visit. Tonight, I learned about Trader Joe's rotation system. The crew members switch roles throughout the day--one hour they may be working the registers, the next they're collecting shopping carts, stocking shelves, organizing frozen foods, or helping in another area of the store. I think it's a brilliant system. It keeps the workflow balanced, gives employees variety, and, in my opinion, probably helps maintain such positive morale. The crew member who helped me tonight told me he genuinely enjoys coming to work and that his smile isn't forced--he truly enjoys serving people. When an employee sincerely says they enjoy serving customers, it makes you realize Trader Joe's must be doing something right. If you're ever in Santee, I highly recommend stopping by this location. Truthfully, I've had great experiences at just about every Trader Joe's I've visited. My only "complaint" has nothing to do with the store itself--it's those locations that share tiny parking lots with other busy businesses! If you've shopped at one of those, you know exactly what I mean. As always... you can thank me later.

Reminds me of Costco Kirkland brand except TJ is suitable for smaller packages not huge family size. I walked aisle to aisle and picked up a few frozen food. The frozen food averaged under $5. I can now understand how many household lean towards frozen food for the cost and the portions. I was full off of one and still had left overs.

I love they have outdoor covered seating for those who want to just chill. The parking can be quite busy but plenty can be accessed on the other side of the trolley depot. The kids enjoyed the chocolate chip, a French toast, s'more, and chocolate brownie & pink icing cookies and a pop tart cookie which some we have had but it was a treat for them to try the new ones. Almost a long-time customer here!…read more So I actually stumbled upon this place by accident some years ago, but it turned out to be a VERY HAPPY accident. This small and inconspicuous warehouse factory makes the best baklava I've ever had -- so much so that it ruined other baklavas for me. I can tell that so much love, thought, and care goes into making them; the delicate layers of each piece are fresh, perfectly balanced, and not cloyingly sweet. The owners here are so sweet and they always provide a free piece with my order. They sell their baklavas in boxes only, but you get to choose from 3 different sizes. You also get to choose from different flavors (pistachio, walnut, chocolate walnut, cinnamon walnut, almond-pecan, hazelnut) and sizes (they have triangular pieces and rolled pieces), but honestly I would recommend getting all of the flavors because they are all fantastic! Overall -- for immaculate baklava in San Diego, look no further than Baklava King! Their boxes make great gifts, too.
