My yogurt was so delicious however $12 for a normal size cup of yogurt. I am use to paying $7-$8 in North County but I guess in Santee it's a whole lot higher so that was my lunch since I spent $12 on one cup of frozen yogurt. Like I said it was delicious. The yogurt flavors are always good and they offer so many different toppings that do not overwhelm you either . They offer more than yogurt as well like shaved ice, boba, drinks, dole whip and coffee. We have been there about three times and not once has it disappointed yet. It is always very clean and staff is friendly. They even have a stamp card for those frequent flyers. If you need to cool down, visit this place and try anything on their menu. We've been going here for years, always happy with the service and yogurt/drinks. We came in tonight 30 minutes before closing with employees stood there looking annoyed, didnt say a word.ALL toppings were put away, all chairs stacked. Basically if we were able get plain yogurts with now toppings. Excellent place to get yogurt. The employees are super friendly and helpful. I like that you can sit outside and eat and people watch. Both visits I had Salted Caramel and it was incredible. I topped it with cheesecake pieces and caramel sauce, it doesn't get better than that. The place was spotless too. read more

The very first time I came to this establishment I accidentally rested a yogurt that was .88 lb. And received it for free. The most recent time my purchase was $16.42. However when I got out to bring it into my children, the top flew off and the sides collapsed, causing it to fall to the ground. I'm hoping they will agree to replace it for free. read more

They don't provide samples anymore which is a bummer because they have flavors that sound good but are not, such as strawberry. So it's just a matter of luck if you end up liking the yogurt. I got the matcha and strawberry and ate just the matcha. The reason I gave 2 stars was just for the matcha. It was yummy! The toppings were also fresh, especially the fruit. In the last year I've switched from yogurt to getting drinks from penguins and they are one of my favorites!! They're so close to me so it's an easy stop before heading home. All the employees are so nice and welcoming and I've been coming so often sometimes they remember my order I get their slushees and it's a lot of fun to mix and match flavors. Time and again, Penguin Yogurt Factory has never disappointed. It is hands-down the best yogurt shop I have ever been to and I have absolutely no complaints. The man who runs this place is kind of a neat freak, but it makes for the absolute best froyo experience possible compared to other places which do not give much attention to detail in keeping the toppings bar stocked and clean. They have a variety of flavors of yogurt, including for different dietary needs , and I don't think I've ever tried a bad one. They have tons of toppings, sauces, etc and a huge variety of drinks, shave ice, chamango, etc. This place has a special place in my heart and is where I have gone with family for years after days or nights out. We have a running joke after having a huge meal at dinner of saying "Time for Penguin Yogurt?" I have gone here with all my friends, those who I have kept throughout the years and those who have not stuck around. I've gone alone during some of my darkest times. My best friend is from Britain and had never tried froyo until he came to Penguin with me, he exclaimed "Now that is delightful! " upon taking his first bite. It is not just a yogurt shop, it is a place of community in Santee which brings people together and makes them happy. I much prefer Penguin to any froyo chain and since moving away I do miss it often. I have only gotten the free yogurt by weighing the certain weight like once, but I don't care. They have a stamp card promo system even. Thank you, Penguin Yogurt Factory, for being around for so long. You are a constant in my life. Never stop. read more

Came here because I was craving boba and I didn't want to go far but everything else was already closed near by. It was nice that they're open a little later than other places near by. Their menu is pretty big but the stuff we ordered was pretty good! We got thai tea and pineapple slushie with boba. Both options were good and the boba was not bad. Good yogurt and topping options. But my qualm is you can't sample the flavors. So you can't taste it to make sure you like it before you pay. Their prices are a lil steep too. Today, I put a teaspoon on the side of my new cup to try it and I went to pay after I filled up, and the young girl was on such a power trip telling me I need to have every drop weighed and I was a health hazard LMAO WHATT. If there weren't people behind me, I would've loved to continue a chat with her. Especially given her condescending attitude. If you have to, charge for samples. This interaction was ridiculous. So here's the deal, I LOVE Boba. So I'm usually pretty harsh with critiquing "boba" places. Either it's usually too dry or clumpy/sticks together. Or the taste is just off. I just had my first Boba Tea and I'm in loveeee. Everything was so perfect with the Boba and the flavor of my honey lemon tea was spot on without being overly sweet. My husband got the sparkling watermelon lemonade and boy was it crisp and refreshing It sort of tasted like a less-sweet, more naturally flavored watermelon soda. Horrible service. Walked in all toppings were out. Full party getting yogurt in front of us and we were told to serve ourselves only yogurt with no toppings bad business. Horrible customer service what a shame been coming here for years. Train staff at customer service or close early better yet why let the group of 10 people get toppings but not group of 2. Searching for good spots to get dessert after a long day of baseball games and came across this place. What a menu! There was so much that we wanted to try them all. We settled on the frozen yogurts where you pick your toppings and one of the fancy shave ice that come with fruits and whatnot. Seemed like there was only one person working, so if there's a line, expect to wait for your order. Luckily, we we're the only ones until we got our order. Then there were a few waiting. I've been craving Wynston's since my last visit so I've been saving my calories today in order to reward myself with their big a** scoop of home made ice cream. The flavors are still the same (according to the website) but I wasn't sure if it updates on sold out flavors. I tried to call to ask but no one picked up. But hey, it's a Sunday and the owner picked up call last time and everyone deserves a day off. I decided to chance it and just go - hoping they still have the Mississippi mud pie . They didn't have the Peppermint mocha but thankfully the Mississippi was available (a few other flavors were sold out , see pic i took of menu for this Sunday). Christian was the young staff working today and he was reason #1 for the hug. He was busy making other orders and was so apologetic when he finally got to me. He gave me a sample of the Mississippi and even asked if there was enough fudge swirl in my sample (told ya - maybe hug #2). I again ordered the regular scoop (Perfect Bit $6.75) and with tax the total was $7.27. The scoop was eye opening generous and ample (are we on hug #3). I could see the firm pecans (covered with the ice cream and fudge), the chunks of oreos, and how the ice cream was the perfect texture (not too hard and just the perfect creaminess that lets you start eating asap). The combination of the textures was just as consistent as last time which seems to be a rare thing these days at ice creams shops. I can't get over the size of the scoop (i did a collage of the scoops from Wynstons, Salt & Straw, and Baskins). Wynston's takes down these Goliaths with ease. (See pic) The only thing I'm still unsure about is the loyalty rewards as I've visited twice now and don't see the purchases on my history (even though I entered my phone # to check in) . So maybe it's a glitche? Regardless, Christian and the scoop of Mississippi mud pie just legit made my Sunday afternoon (while sharing the scoop with friends while watching NFL!).

This ice cream shop is tucked into a residential area with easy street parking. You order right at…read morethe window, and they have a lot of great options on the menu. I like that they offer small-size cups, and the staff working there were so nice. We got our orders really quickly, too. There are a couple of seats outside by the ordering window, and there are also some nice paths nearby where you can walk up and down while enjoying your ice cream.

I've been thinking of that pineapple upside down Ice cream for over a week... I've recently lost ninety pounds and have been incredibly disciplined with my diet. I think I just hurt myself. We came on a Saturday early evening and no one else was there. My kids loved to see the ice cream display case and made their picks. We got them each a like it of their ice cream of choice while my husband and I each got one with a couple of mix ins. The staff was great at humoring us and our kids and they were quick to get our ice cream to them. We ate at a table inside since it was just too hot to be outside. The tables in there are pretty cramped and the chairs were incredibly uncomfortable. You can't really sit back because the curve of the back of the chairs comes around the side so unless you are super small it digs right into you. I am chunky but not more than average and I hated it. I couldn't wait to get out of the chairs. It has been a while since I have been to a cold stone and I was surprised by the price, even with prices of everything going up. We spent over $30 on our 4 ice creams, and I can say it wasn't worth the money. We all ate our ice cream because, well, its ice cream but my husband and I left saying we wished we went somewhere else. Overall, it was okay but it wasn't anything great or special and my husband and I won't come back here until the next time we forget we don't love it here.
