i have never been a "coffee house" person. It just wasn't something I would do very often. However, lately it has become part of my routine, in particular on Saturdays and Sundays. I like running errands, and then ending those errands by visiting a coffee house. This particular Starbucks has become my coffee house of choice. Every time I visit another coffee house, I always long to return to this particular location. Parking is easy, as it is right in front of the Starbucks. There is also a good nail salon right there, as well as a branch of a Wells Fargo Bank. Accordingly, you can get a lot of errands done right in one easy location, all at the very same time. The staff at this Starbucks location is exceptional. I have never seen a more welcoming bunch of your people. In particular, these people are Lily, Cory and Stephen-Blair. There is also a young woman I see on Sunday who is excellent as well, but whose name I forget, but her middle name is Ann. We like the fact there is a Pride Flag positioned near the check out area. I'm Filipino and Mexican, and this is the second time I've had this experience here. When I walked up to the counter, the barista (Asian) ignored me completely. Other customers came in before and after me and he greeted and helped them right away. I don't know what else to call it. Bad service is one thing, but being passed over twice while everyone else gets served is something different. I won't be back. read more

I personally have been conflicted about writing a review for this location. I have a lot of mixed emotions. Sometimes the staff is nice and sometimes the staff is not very pleasant. The last time I had came here, I had to ask the person three times to do something that I felt was fairly simple to do for my drunk. I feel like at that point you're not really listening to me.You're more concerned with trying to get my drink finished and me out but the store is not busy, so therefore I feel like you shouldn't be rushing.There isn't a need for it. I like Starbucks, I enjoy their lattes and ease of using their mobile app. The problem I have with their stores is lack of consistent volume in their products. I consistently order grande lattes and know when I pick up the cup that the volume is low. It happened again today so I decided to measure the volume when I got home. There is no reason for a grande to only have 12 ounces in it. At the lowest it should be 14 oz for the advertised 16 ounce grande. Staff are always nice but for such an expensive beverage I expect better. read more

I got the classic Caramel Ribbon Crunch Creme Frappuccino. Caramel: Absolutely delicious. Ice cold unlike other times I have been here and it's melting. Got hints of that sugary caramel. We all had a virtual zoom meeting to attend and there was only two person seat tables, so before my friends got there I moved two tables together and put 5 chairs. None of the workers minded. We were there from 9am until noon and we got very pretty drinks. The two I got were good and one of my friends drinks was so pretty! And I could use all my gift cards so everything was free hehe. The guy who took my order in the morning was super kind and they liked my fuzzy yellow socks! They showed me their pride socks, very cute! I rarely splurge on the 'Bucks. I like my French press coffee at home way better. Drink seemed watery, it could have been a lot better. It also was mostly cream which I didn't dig. The cashier was amazing though. He was so engaging and warm. I really enjoyed my brief yet pleasant interaction with him today. In fact I'm still smiling while I key this quick reviewsky. Barista was very unpleasant, she made me wait for a straw until she STARTED and completed someone else's drink. Her customer service skills need work, so did her drink. I just left this Starbucks after purchasing, my boyfriend went to go use the bathroom. He noticed the bathroom he was in wasn't working so mistakenly went into the employee bathroom honest mistake. The employee (white female probably in her 40s) then goes and bangs on the bathroom, after my boyfriend apologizes continues to slam the door on him. She almost kicked down the door. What a disappointment. First of all, one of their employees, who was clearly off the clock, was being loud and raucous. So, this isn't my first Stabucks, nor my first coffee shop. I ordered a grande coffee with extra cream. I always order that -- at every Starbucks and every other place. The girl at the counter asked me if I wanted that hot or cold. I replied, "Hot, please. I've never been asked that question before." To me, coffee defaults to hot and if you want it cold you order iced coffee or one of the foo foo cold drinks. I get my coffee and go out to my car. I open it up. There is no cream and the coffee is filled to the top. I go back in and the girls sees me and asks if there's something wrong. I reiterated my order and said, "And there's no cream." She replied, "That's why I asked you if you wanted it hot or cold." I couldn't even understand how that informed her decision not to give me cream. She offered to give me cream on the side, but I told her, "There's no room for the cream. Can you pour some of it off?" She responded that she couldn't do that, but I could drink it down or she could give me a new order. I told her that I didn't want to drink it without cream and pouring a new cup was a waste, so I said, "Never mind. I'll go outside and pour it off, " which I did. Then I came back in, and she gave me a small cup of cream. Not going back anymore. I will continue to go the drive thru at Lake Murray and Dallas where they always get it right and don't look at you blankly. Managers should take this to heart. It should not be difficult to get a plain cup of coffee. read more

One thing I have noticed after visiting a number of Starbucks all around San Diego is that not all Starbucks are created equally. Perhaps, I should say, not all service at all Starbucks is equal. I stopped by here for my daily fix, given I was in the area. I ordered a tall Pike's Peak and my usual morning bun. A few minutes passed, and I started wondering where my bun was, but I noticed they were busy making breakfast sandwiches, so I figured they were back logged. Well, I waiting and waited, and about 6-7 minutes later, I finally heard a girl call out. "I have a morning bun here" so I got up to claim it. When I finally got it, the girl, big mistake, tells me that it had been sitting on the counter over there for a while and it is probably cold by now. Hmmm.......I touched it and yes, it had lost it's warmth. Although, the bun was still good, and the girl apologized for them, not making an initiative, to call out that my bun was ready, I was still a little perturbed with them. This a relatively easy location for us to get coffee. We tend to mobile order the most and it's always ready by the time we make it over there. The location is clean and well kept. The staff is nice and easy to talk to. I have also studied here a few times because there are multiple tables to use. The store is very small though so the tables are kinda crammed. This is the closest Starbucks to me since I moved to San Diego. The staff is nice, but I usually just mobile order out of convenience. The inside is a little small but they have a corner unit so I think they have decent seating for the size. Outside seating is okay but the road noise and wind is a little uncomfortable so I don't sit there much. The parking is always slammed because of the ups store and Wells Fargo being on the same block. I would honestly suggest parking by 24 hour or Carl's Jr. and just taking a short walk if you're able to. On top of the lot being small, people are flying in at high speeds off of Navajo from the highway, and cutting corners right into your lane. They stand pretty consistent with the brand and art always willing to accommodate anything I've needed, so I would say they do a great job. I will continue coming back. read more
