The 'new' location is a massive upgrade from the previous one across the street. They have revamped the store. Lots of parking space, clean inside with plenty of space in between isles to walk around and the cafe, as always is a plus. Nice seating area to soak up the sun shine while enjoying a good book with your favorite beverage. Have been to this location many a times and never had any issues with customer service or finding what I was looking for. If they don't have it in stock, they assist you in ordering and get it shipped directly to your home or at the store. There is always a friendly associate available to help you out. read more

Visited on Saturday afternoon and wow, I asked myself why I sat on a gift card for almost an entire YEAR!?! The store was clean, bright, and packed with books, puzzles, and stationary. Totally my jam! I spent way more time here than I planned just browsing (no regrets!). I had to take advantage of the $5 monthly book if you buy an item from the cafe. The staff I interacted with were friendly and helpful. The gal at the counter informed me of the rewards program and signed me up. I scored some goodies and was even able to receive double points... yahoo! It was a happy Saturday afternoon. Looking forward to future visits. read more

I love this B & N. I go straight to the back of the store to check out my favorite author books on murder mysteries and thrillers. I also love the back corner for kiddo books and toys! I also love the unique gift area on the left hand side - they have great stationary and present options for family members. The staff is super helpful and friendly and I love the recomended book tables when you meander your way up front. Yay! Books! read more

I'm not a book person but my wife and son loves this place. They seem to have every book ever made, if they don't they can order it for you. They even have legos for little kids and a Starbucks for the adults. Parking is easy with a common lot for all the stores in the area. Very nice store and educators get a discount. read more

What is so I can get about this place it looks like an Apple store meaning no carpet and white walls. Thank God for not ringing the carpet that can hold bacteria and viruses and smells. There is a nice Starbucks and nice area you can sit and have a view to the outside what you're drinking your coffee and reading. Easy to park. Friendly staff. Check their Covid times. Actually the whole area has many stores for food for shopping for clothing it's all new. And location is just half a mile drive from the highway. read more

The Woodbury, Mn is no longer on Valley Creek, it has moved near Radio Drive. The new store has been open a few weeks and it is stunning. Open, spacious, inviting, and bright with lots of natural light. It offers a full Starbucks cafeteria with white marble tables. There is plenty of space to hold a small meeting, study, work, or read. The bookstore staff is helpful with assistance. There is even gift wrapping, although I don't know if there is a charge...I assume not. If you are a book lover like myself, it is definitely worth signing up for the Barnes and Noble Membership...the cost is $25 a year buy you get exclusive discounts of 20% off via email/ mail, multiple times a year in addition to the automatic 10% off you get with every purchase. You also receive free shipping. I believe teachers always get 20% off without paying a membership... so that's pretty awesome! read more

Best Barnes and Noble in the Twin Cities. Clean organized, and an amazing collection of tarot and oracle decks. Whoever is doing the ordering for the store in this area really understands the genre and has multi cultural multi racial and anti-racist awareness. Five stars and many wins for the store. It also feels very safe and clean during the Covid lockdown. Also very good ordering for gifts and books as well as games and puzzles. Highly impressed. read more

I was only in this Barnes & Noble for like all of 10 minutes but I knew that I would be a repeat customer of this one. Why? THE OPENNESS! This store is only one level, but it is a HUGE floor. There is a lot of space between all the different sections. I am so relieved because the B&N off 9th street is tiny and crammed, even though it's two floors. I generally like a lot of space, but especially when it comes to bookstores, because you don't want to appear breathing down someone's neck while they're trying to read a book. Which happens all too often for me (on either side of the equation). All the cash registers are in the front of the store (near the entrance) with huge letters CASHIERS on the top, so you can't miss it. Also, if you have a membership with them, they often give out coupons through the mail, like additional 10%-40% off an item, in addition to the 10% discount members get. So sometimes when you couple the coupons together, it's the same price as if you got the book on Amazon. read more

Although I am a HUGE reader, I rarely make it into a brick and mortar book store anymore with the advent of E-readers. Tis the season and I was looking for a particular set of books that would be hard to find on the shelf of the big box stores. I went to Barnes and Noble and they and their customer service did not disappoint! When I walked in the store a gentleman was there to greet me. Not being 100% sure which section the series would be in I asked him. He immediately pointed me to the right direction without having to look the information up on the tablet he had. He gave me the name of the employee working in that section and told me to ask him for the specific shelf space to find the books. Made it back to the kids section and the employee was patiently and kindly helping a woman pick out books for her grandchildren. As he finished helping I looked around a bit on my own waiting to swoop in like a hawk for his help when he was finished. Turns out no swooping was necessary. He came right over and brought me to the books I was there for. Looking turned out they only had 3 of the 4 on the shelf. He went and checked inventory and when he was certain they didn't have that one left offered to call one of the stores that did have it and place it on hold for me. The great customer service alone almost made me wish I had a Nook instead of a kindle. Barnes and Noble made we want to give them more business. I was treated with a smile and a genuine thanks for my business even during the stressful holiday season. read more

The staff of this bookstore branch seriously need to learn customer service - good customer service should also be given when the store is busy. For some reason, I get some sort of customer service when there is only a handful of customers in the store or when I am the only one in the line. But when it is busy, even when it is just a little bit busy, the staff just seem so cold or bored or unhappy... not even a thank you after you paid for your purchase. read more

This review is for the new Woodbury location- in City Place. It is a beautiful store - It does NOT feel like a book shop, in a bad way. The shelves look cold, the lack of carpet throughout makes it feel more industrial. It's not a place I would want to stay for very long. The children's area at the old store had one-way in/out. Easy to keep an eye on book-hungry kids. The new store has no such barriers. The cafe is a nice addition, however the layout is awkward: you enter the line from the front of the store, exit near the middle, and then walk back up to the front for the tables. I won't ever buy anything from their cafe, anyway, because on opening weekend I witnessed a cafe staffer wipe her nose with her hand, enter the cafe, proceed to hand a straw to a guest, pick up and set down her own beverage cup, and then walk back out of the cafe area... all without washing her hands. Yes, I did tell a manager. It's still gross. I'll miss sitting on the floor in the travel section, or pursuing the kids books leisurely. I'll miss my book shop. read more

I buy most of my books at Barnes and Noble. They have a good selection and friendly and helpful staff. I love using my Barnes and Noble member card. It is a great value and I save a lot of money using it. I love the layout of the store and almost everything is easy to find. If they do not have something in the store an employee can order it online and it will be mailed to your house. read more
