This place is amazing. Any album you can think of they have. I love the TV show DVD collection as well as CDs. I have bought over 10 albums from this location and has great parking.

Store entrance is on the side where you park. You can not enter at the intersection corner.

Amazing selection of CDs which are a little harder to find in the vinyl resurgence. However they have a great selection of other formats, new and used. They also had plenty of other memorabilia and media care products such as plastic vinyl sleeves, and replacement jewel cases. The prices are not outrageous and found used CDs from the price 95¢ to $4.95. One of the top record stores I have visited in the country. Clean, organized and easy to navigate. Hope to visit with soon, one of the best record stores I have visited in the nation.

Two posters I got love them

Awww cheapos I love that your so cheap if your into local artist or even the big ppl and cannot afford or maybe can you just like the hard copy discs omg come here they have everything you can think of music! I found like a rap artist that in target it would be 15 for the cd but here I found it for 2.99 no scratches no nothing like brand new it's the real deal. They also sell movies tv show series posters shirts it's like the go to spot for me Very hipster environment which is a plus feel more comfortable the staff super friendly

Great new selection of albums....but there's nothing cheapo about them. Hands down most expensive record store I've been in.

This is an amazing, well-stocked record store, one that I visit every time I'm in Minneapolis.

This store is such a delight, as all…read moreof the books are exclusively part of the mystery/thriller/crime genre, which is my favorite to read! I've been here before, but this was the first time I checked out the annex portion of the store, which houses used books. If you are seeking a mystery book, this is the place to go as they've got it all. The prices of the used books were higher than I would have expected (nearly $14 for a used hardcover), but the selection makes it worth it. I liked the cute seating area in the annex a lot it looked very comfy. There is street parking near the store, but it's on a very busy street. That busy street made it feel like I was part of the video game Frogger trying to get back into traffic after parking!

Great spot for a Mystery fan. Love love love this store…read more I've always walked past and seen the sign and decided to stop in today. It's an unassuming looking store from the outside but once inside. You can tell they have a solid selection. It was filled top to bottom with shelves. They also take Apple Pay which is nice! There's another room called the Annex. You can ask to see. They will take you through a door down a hallways and into the room. Here you can find first editions of mystery books. Or even books written as far back as the 40s! Solid store. Decent prices! They also gave a book club which meets on certain days. Check it out

The building…read moreit's located in is over hundred years old and you can feel it in the low ceilings and incredible library ladders and stairs. The store is deep and keeps going too the further you explore inward. An impressive selection of topics are available. It's an old bookstore but it's got contemporary finds. I was especially pleased with their LGBTQ+ and gender studies sections-- I could read forever and never get through all the books they had! Prices seem to be reliably a hair off MSRP, which is nice considering today's economy. It can be expensive to stay educated! The employees were all quite friendly and eager to assist in helping me find what I was looking for. They also have things like puzzles, journals, planners, calendars, greeting cards, stickers, postcards, and more, along with their own merch of T-shirts, sweatshirts, book bags, mugs, etc.

I don't know why it has taken me so long to review, but this is my favorite place in the Twin Cities to buy books. I used to live uptown and now live pretty far away, but I still make the journey here. As other reviewers have noted, it's bigger than it looks. A grower not a show-er. A clown car of books. I have sold books here and also bought used books here, which I love, because that's the only way I can afford to read as much as I want. A library card only gets you so far when you're on a crazy long waitlist for a new release. So far, I've never not been able to find what I want here. Staff is very helpful. They have a nice little children's section too. I always try to give books as a gift to kids. And I love that they give free bookmarks at checkout, because I like to read multiple books at a time.

As I had plenty of time to spare for Lunch with my brother (at the nearby 5-8 Club), I wandered over. Know Name Records struck me as a combination of a CD/Vinyl records store, a head shop, t-shirt seller, memorabilia collection, head shop, disk golf dealer, and rummage sale. The later was based on a couple sets of old speakers, a turntable, and other vintage items that were for sale. Plus from this person of 65's perspective, it didn't look like the 2 older guys tending the counter had escaped the 60s. :) I had a great time looking around. I wasn't much interested in the weed-related or vinyl merchandise, and I would never get those speakers on the plane. But, the CDs were interesting and I found a great Vikings/Prince "Purple Reign" (if only for that NFL team) jersey that I just had to take home (see picture). I'm sure to come back the next time I'm anywhere this side of the Crosstown Freeway. Plus I'd fully expect that there would be a whole new inventory to explore. Good prices too.
