I was Dr Kozikowska patient for 16 years since 2008, in 2024 two weeks after my youngest brother…read morepassed away I went thru serious accident I fall down the stairs,lost consciousness, have a cuncosion and broken jaw I fall from 15 concrete stairs,in 2023 I was of the medication for 11 months , was taking natural remedies with Dr approval,buy always Cary with me rescue medication if anxiety comes in, after the accident I started to going back to medications in which I started to experiencing severe side effects like never before, I informed Dr kozikowska that im after cuncosion and something doesn't work wright,long story short,I asked the Dr if she ever had a patient after head injury and cuncosion,the answer was no,I have to say that Dr trying to help, respond to my phone calls for some period of time, but later I was started to hear that im calling to often,and that the phone calls needs to be limited,I was suffering so much from medications side effects and later withdrawal,I was hospitalized 5 times where they changed the medication for me,I was severely harm by that, and the day comes when Dr kozikowska said to me that I need to look for second opinion,I did what she have said,but later drop me as a patient,I think Dr should do some research how to treat medically a patient after head injury and cuncosion I was to much for the Dr leaving me with clonazepam which I was taking for many months was prescribed by the Dr, Dr kozikowska it is great Dr but for easy cases,and patients who don't need special care and attention, so after 16 years of being this Dr patient I was dropped off,without any feelings of humanity,i was crying because of this,Dr Kozikowska will not helping to come off of clonazepam cose her taper is to fast and can be harmful,the second Dr that I have seen harm me so much and gaslight me terribly,this kind of medical practice can put a patient to the severe mental crisis,I was having hope in Dr Kozikowska since she helped me for many years, but not after accident,I was treated cold on the end and that was the worst feeling after being patient for so many years... very sad.

She is a straight-shooter and doesn't mince her words, but she is one of, if not THE, most honest, empathic, and genuinely invested psychiatrists I have ever come across. More physicians and medical professionals today should aspire to be like her, as such authenticity is rarely seen in the medical field. The problem began when I called to schedule an appointment. After being told by one receptionist that Dr. Basson did not accept my insurance, I asked her to check again. After all, my insurance provider was who directed me to Dr. Basson in the first place. When relaying this information the receptionist apologized for the misinformation and scheduled an appointment. Perhaps Dr. Basson had previously accepted my insurance (First Health Network) and no longer did. Maybe this receptionist never even bothered to confirm and instead took my word for it. I did not receive confirmation from an automated text, much less someone from the office. I arrived for my appointment early and was forced to interact with Vanessa, a different receptionist from the one I previously spoke with. When I gave her my insurance card (admittedly different in appearance from most insurance cards) she condescendingly asked, "What is this"? When I told her it was what she asked for, she replied skeptically and, without saying it, seemed to imply that I fabricated my insurance card. She insisted that Dr. Basson did not accept the insurance, to which I replied that I had engaged in the same discussion with the other receptionist who confirmed the opposite. Vanessa went on and on, almost incensed that I would dare schedule an appointment that made her have to depart from her usual routine and input information about a different insurance provider. Finally she scolded me that I didn't even have a referral to be seen. But how did she know? She never asked for that information. In fact, I did have a referral from an earlier ER visit. At that point I demanded my insurance card and canceled my own visit. I made it known, and do so here, that Vanessa was bewilderingly unprofessional, her tone remarkably pedantic, and her attitude rotten to the core. Perhaps Vanessa had a bad day (she looked like she had a cold). But Dr. Basson should know that Vanessa's behavior not only jeopardizes the practices' bottom line, but also destroys the very basis of a patient-doctor relationship, namely trust. Why would I want to be seen by a doctor who has working for her someone who is skeptical, condescending, and blatantly disrespectful? Other patients should know and refuse to be treated as such.

Furthermore, Dr. Buchbinder did some blood work to find out why this happens so often. What a difference from some crappy NYC clinic that shoves a z-pak in your face and sends you on your way. I also get weekly allergy shots at her office. Her staff is very nice, and they seem to know almost everyone who comes in by name.
