I am happy to say that I was fortunate enough to meet the amazing team from ALFA Driving School. They were very professional, kind and helpful, but most of all, they cared - they made sure I felt confident and secure behind the wheel. To get your license in Georgia, you need, among other things, documented hours of driving, usually with a certified instructor, and 30 hours of drivers ed. I did both with Alfa Driving and I am very satisfied. The actual driving was done in two-hour sessions and built up my confidence on the road. I had been dreading the classroom hours; I had heard from my friends that it was really boring, and thirty hours seemed like a lot. To my surprise, the classroom instructor, Vern, made the class pretty fun. There was some of the standard reading from a textbook, but we also went to a Lamborghini dealership, got breakfast at McDonald's, and discussed driving stories with Vern. You really get to know the other kids, both during class and lunch, which we got from various restaurants within walking distance: I made a few friends at Three Dollar Cafe, which I recommend as well. Despite these seemingly driving-unrelated activities, I got a 100 on both the Alcohol and Drug Awareness Program (ADAP) and on the Driver's Ed final with no studying. I would definitely recommend Alfa in general and Driver's Ed with Vern in particular. read more

I would like to thank the Alfa Driving School for getting me through my test and also Al, Lorina and Emily who were excellent. I dont normally write reviews but i cant recommend the school enough. I called a number of driving schools. Only Al knew about the process for an international driver and that we need to pass the GA test. Not only was he by far the most helpful on the phone, he then sent a follow up email with all of the information in. I had some lessons to get me ready for the driving test which told me exactly what i needed to know and prepared me for the test. We did the test route and all of the manoevres in the test. When they though I was ready, Al told me i didnt need anymore lessons. Unlike many schools, where they will keep encouraging you to buy more lessons. ON the day of the test, the school went above and beyond for me. They picked me up, helped me through the process and dropped me off. I passed with very few mistakes. Al also told me all i needed to know for the knowledge test. I cant recommend this school, or thank them enough. Thank you Al, Lorina and Emily! read more

The Alfa Driving School was awesome. It provided the services my daughter needed to confirm she knew the information for the knowledge test (6 hour training class); general driving instruction (10 hours behind the wheel); and transportation and use of their vehicle to pass the road test. The pickup and drop off service for the driving portion was very helpful. Cindy was patient and helpful when she had to reschedule some instruction time, walking us through the steps to make sure we had all the materials and were prepared for the knowledge and driving portions with the DMV, and general support in explaining the services and steps. The driving instructors (Elizabeth and David) were positive and encouraging. I didn't shop around to compare prices, but all the costs seemed reasonable. The people that helped support my daughter to achieve her goal and her nervous Mom 400 miles away was worth it all! read more

During my drivers Ed class Mr. Vern was my teacher . He elaborated and explained in detailed about every little thing we asked about driving . He taught us about consequences and effects on behaviors and actions taken during driving . He drilled the knowledge in us to the point we are not only confident in doing it but saying it also . He has truly helped me with my experience in driving . Mr. Mike was my driving lessons teacher . He is very kind . He doesn't want you to leave not knowing what you are doing . He helps you with anything & he explains everything throughly . Mr. Mike & Mr.Vern are two of the best representatives from ALFA Driving school & I recommend everyone to try & receive them as their teacher . Attending drivers Ed to learn how to drive better and save money on my insurance. First day was pretty basic, we watched numerous videos explaining road signs and their meanings and then followed that up by taking a road signs test. My instructor for that day was Jan Davis, she was great (lovely personality and witty) and had plenty of stories to tell about her days as a cop. My instructor for the following three days was Vern, a great guy who made the class interesting and enjoyable for everyone (he even let us drive!). Looking forward to my behind the wheel hours with him. My expirence at Alfa Driving school was amazing ! When I first heard I was taking drivers ed class I was more then upset that I had to spend my thanksgiving holiday in a class but now Im upset that it's ending. Vern is an amazing instructor/teacher. He really grabs the attention of young drivers and makes driving seem less scary than most think it is. He took us on fun little trips while also covering the basic of safe driving and the rules of the road. Im more then happy i took this class because, not only did I learn helpful hints but I met great new people who are now just as excited to drive as I am. Did Driver's Ed here. Awesome time. Actually could not imagine a more enjoyable experience. The instructor was first Jane, an ex police captain with a great sense of humor and a been there done that attitude. She really gave an awesome introduction to the course. Then we were given Vern for the rest of my driver's Ed. What a guy. He went above and beyond. It felt less like something we were being forced to do and instead just an actually fun learning experience. I would recommend this place to anyone. He even helped me schedule my driving test, as well as taking us to Lamborghini atlanta, McDonald's, and showing us all a little about driving-he taught me to parallel park! Girl lemme tell you bout this place! As a teen, my mom forced me to come to drivers ed because I need to learn how to drive but honestly I don't wanna learn. I was hoping I could say it was a horrible experience so I don't have to drive till I'm off to college but it was a lot of fun! I would like to say thank you to Mr. Vern since he was my teacher 4 out of the 5 days that I was in the program. The class was really educational and I learned a lot since he makes the lessons interactive. You can actually experience certain things such as being 'drunk'; not literally though we used goggles. Vern was a great instructor with a good sense of humor. He taught us what we needed to know and made sure the information was encrypted into our minds. I drove for the first time here and Vern was calm and very encouraging and it made me a better driver. I had no clue how to drive a car before I came here, but Vern made me feel comfortable with driving and made me learn to enjoy it. Jan, however, had unreasonable rules. No phones, no feet on the chairs.... I have a very short attention span, and she somehow managed to keep my attention most of the time. She treated people with disrespect. I would 100% recommend learning here. I came in expecting a lonely, boring 8 hours a day in some dank, crumbling building, but I was completely surprised. In a small, personal driving class, I met the most amazing group of girls and gained confidence in my driving. Even if you're already a good driver, you'll learn things you've never known and gain personal, real life, on the road experience that you never would have expected. Mr.Vern, the instructor, is extremely encouraging and familiar. Attending Drivers Ed was a really helpful experience. My first day was really informative with Jan Davis. Although there were a lot of presentations and lectures, she found a way to connect them to her personal experiences. The next 3 days with Vern had a lot of hands-on experience which really helped my skills. I learned how to reverse park and parallel park. He would constantly stress the importance of driving which I didn't always agree with, but since he would always motivate you to do your best it really boosted my self confidence. I am an international who just moved to US few months ago. Although I have been driving in my country for 20 years, it was a challenge for me to get driving licence here in US. So, I took professional help from Alfa driving school. Tri-my instructor - not only helped me technically but also gave a big moral support during the road test. I dismissed my ticket with the class I took at Alfa. !!WINNER!! After calling around several other traffic schools, I finally choose Alfa because of location and available classes. They offer classes everyday so it was easy to schedule around my hectic workload. The instructor was super friendly, informative and I get my certificate at the end of class. The classroom was clean with comfortable chairs and wifi (bring your Ipad for breaks). There are vending machines with a good selection of drinks and snacks. Hopefully, I never have to repeat, but it I do....its an easy decision to come back to Alfa Driving School. read more

Enrolled at Alfa Driving School for Drivers Ed. I started class with Ms. Jan Davis, who was a kind and attentive teacher. The first day was spent mostly learning the basics and watching videos. The second day our instructor was Vern. We began learning about basic driving principles and rules and by the third day we jumped into hands on driving behind the wheel. Vern was a patient and informative instructor, and by the final day of class everyone managed to learn reverse and parallel parking after only two days of behind the wheel action! The drivers education classes are very useful and learn full while still having fun at the same time. I had Mr. Vern as my instructor and he made sure that we all wanted to drive and he helped me become more confident in driving. The classes are very flexible in the usage of time. We didn't just sit in class and take notes all day, but we went outside and drove a little everyday, watched road tests, tried on drunk goggles, and much more. I relocated for work from Europe to Atlanta and choose Alfa School to learn to drive and get my US driving license. My instructor was Al and i cannot express enough how much I am grateful for overall service. Al was very helpful, patient but same time pushing me exactly how much I can handle to make progress over time. He even brought me to gas station to explain all about which gas to choose, how to pour gas etc. He took me to highway several times practicing entering exiting, traffic jams, and more all explained or experienced. I had a Blast!!!!!!!!! Mr. Vern was amazing ! I took a 30 hour drivers Ed class. I cut my summer short but it was well worth it! Mr. Vern had different activities planned for each day of the week. all I have to say is VERN FOR THE WIN!!!! I am almost 17 I've had my license for almost a year and went to drive smart to get my license well now I'm moving to sandy springs my first day driving there I was rear ended. Honestly drive smart screwed us ..... So my mom signed me up for 3 sessions with Vern and I've never felt more comfortable driving on the crazy ATL roads.
