I had a great cleaning & initial visit but the follow up care to have dental work done was a nightmare. At the 1st visit for the dental work I was overdosed on the numbing shots till I was having a reaction with trembling and feeling freezing. No concern at all from doc. My fingers & feet were frozen white! I was told there was nothing they could do. I had to ask for my light jacket to be handed to me even though I found out later from another employee that they had blankets in a closet somewhere.
Then, the molds of my two front teeth were mishandled so they came out misshapen & were extra thick (the girl doing the mold had to repeat the process two more times and the last time she tried, she wiggled them partway through the setting period so the teeth came back shaped wrong. Another dentist I saw later was appalled at the work. The only thing that was good was the color matched my other teeth very nicely.
It was EXCRUCIATING when they put on the crowns! Inexcusable! Then, the doc started grinding on the two crowns a bit and WITHOUT asking he began to grind away a small groove on the front face of an adjacent tooth! I became alarmed and demanded he not mess with my other tooth! That is a huge breach of ethics! I did not ask for my adjacent tooth face to be ground down, now it is forever rough on the surface and no longer has smooth protective enamel. HE felt that tooth was flawed and messed with it without asking me at all. I liked that little natural groove in my tooth. It was a very tiny variation and I liked it. He's a bad dentist.
Anyway, from that day on, my new two front teeth don't fit fully so I have ongoing exposed roots at the lateral sides of the tooth bases where they are not covered fully by the glued on crowns. I can't speak right without carefully focusing as they are made & fitted wrong so it causes me to speak with a bit of a lisp. I can no longer whistle easily with my fingers - the teeth are just wrong!
Then, when I was exiting the dental office I realized there were sharp bits still stuck on the back of the teeth. It was the concrete-like glue! I quickly asked if the doc could scrape them or grind them smooth briefly as I had a 10 hour drive home so it was not easy to come back. I was fatigued and wanted to get on the road so I wouldn't end up driving even more tired later into the night on the long ride home. Besides, the sharp bits should have been noticed by the doc & smoothed before I ever left the chair!.
Though I asked nicely & explained about my need to start my drive home promptly, the old doc refused to take a quick look to grind off the sharp chunks of glue still stuck to my teeth. I think it might've taken about 2 or 3 minutes tops. I explained I had a 10 hour drive home (I had moved recently but came back to complete the dental work that had been started by them as I had already paid) but he didn't care and said I'd have to wait till lunchtime was over & they'd try to squeeze me in later! It was really rude that he didn't ensure that all the sharp crunchy bits were removed before sending me out the door.
The side molar they worked on to place a crown at that same time was so damaged that I was in excruciating pain for days after & had to have the crown ground down to allow no contact with upper molars so the root could heal. My next dentist said it was badly bruised.
They also damaged my daughter's tooth root when performing a simple minor cavity filling & she ended up suffering for more than a year & eventually ended up with a root canal because they damaged the root.
This is the worst, actually the ONLY bad dental office I have ever experienced in my 50 plus years of cleanings & dental care. I know what great dental care is like and this is not the place to get it, except for teeth cleaning.
Major failing here in quality of dental work and care. Knowing what I know now, I would not let the elder Dr do any dental work. His son, the younger dentist, was very sweet when he examined one of my teeth about a separate issue (this was before I let his father mess with my other teeth). But, if you need work & they want to schedule the father, run away! He has a bad attitude & did shoddy work. read more
