As I was paying for my order, a fresh batch of their plain croissants came out. The smell was of rich buttery goodness. They did look fairly well done. However, the taste is incredible. Baked good rating 5/5 Upon first entrance the greeting was not salutationious. Meaning, there was barely a smile from the person who attended us. As first time customers thats a complete turn off. Especially when I witnessed the friendly banter between the person behind the counter and another customer, who spoke the same language. 0/5 for customer service. I ordered a matcha green tea latte. The oat milk that was frothed was done so on a dirty, caked on milk, steam nozzle. I saw it, and instead of saying something I let it happen... my own barista experience shamed me that day. As I was taught to clean the steam wand after every single use. It's the equivalent of cross contamination. Especially if I dont consume regular dairy milk for my various reasons. Next time I will be more assertive. The matcha green tea latte was WAY TOO SWEET. I dont know if there was honey in it, if the powder was sweetened already or if the oat milk was vanilla flavoured. Regardless, matcha green tea is so personal, some like it without sugar, others prefer it with, and some like a touch of sweetness. Often times the sweetness level is asked and determined by the customer because it is something that is so individual. Instead of being dictated by the barista. I would rate my beverage a 0.5 out of 5. I also p/u a small package of their cookies. Pretty decent, they crumble well and arent the typical sharing cookie, unless there is more than one in a package. I love their apricot jam. That is something for the win. Since I only went there once, I'd definitely give it a second chance. After all their baked goods are so fresh. They've been there for a year and half already.

He was told the card had not worked and was directed to enter it a second time. The discrepancy was subsequently noticed on his bank statement. My father attended the store, as did I, to inform them of the double-charge. We were both told that the owner would be in touch. We have followed up, in person, by phone and email a number of times with Manager Gilda, and been given a variety of excuses regarding the owner's ongoing absence; including: he was en route back from Pakistan and would call in a few days, he was very ill, he remains out of the country and is the only one who can address financial matters. I have now engaged the bank, the police and Consumer Protection Ontario to investigate as the response from store management has been inadequate and evasive. This is posted as a caution to obtain and scrutinize POS receipts and check that a transaction is indeed VOID/CANCELLED before entering or tapping your card a second time.

The only thing that quirked my interest was this chocolate almond cookie thing ($1.50, see the picture), but it wasn't very tasty. There wasn't another person in the place, so I'm questioning whether turnover is a problem and how fresh the pastries are. Individual apple pies ($3 each), homemade cookies ($3 per box) looked fairly average. On the positive side of things, when I walked in through the door I was hit with the smell of freshly baking bread so maybe their breads are pretty good. I wouldn't mind trying a sandwich, but the pastries and cookies didn't leave a good impression. When we asked a question on how much it cost, she said it was by pound. My friend as how many cookies are in a pound and she didn't know. What?? You work here and you don't know approximately how many cookies there are in a pound? The second thing is the small jelly cookies we bought was really bad. It was dry, crusty, and it was like eating hardened sawdust. I wasn't sure how much water I had to drink to swallow the cookie. If you want some authentic European cookies, don't come here.

They've mastered the crunchy crust that is key to the custard tart experience.
