Still one of my favourite coffee shops in Toronto. They have a new matcha line so I got the matcha coconut smoothie and it did not disappoint. Matcha flavour and coconut were strong. Still one of my favourite places to do some computer work. Wifi can be a bit spotty at time, but I still like to work here offline for the vibes. There are four glass-top tables (with vintage books displayed within them) that can accommodate 3-4 people. There are also a couple of benches against the wall in the order pick-up area. Opposite to that is the neat window seating / bench area where I was able to make myself comfortable by sitting cross-legged on the seating cushion. °³ Overhead Venting: Sitting directly under the ceiling vents provided a welcome, cooling AC breeze in the tight space. °″ Basement Contrast: The clean and delicate aesthetic of the upper level sharply contrasts with the dingy, dungeon-like basement and stinky washroom. Somehow did not try the Viet coffee here (it was early evening and thought coffee would not be ideal). It's really close to this shop I grab my glass from (you should also check them out, they're the best) so I would most likely stop by here again. I ended up trying their matcha coconut drink because of the promotion they had (buy one get one free, it was a good deal). The drink itself was refreshing, creamy, and had a nice balance between the earthy matcha and the sweetness from the coconut. It did feel lighter than expected, maybe because of the coconut base. The atmosphere also stands out, it has that nostalgic vibe that people seem to associate with the brand. The drinks are a little pricey without the promotion, and the sweetness might be a bit much depending on what you order (it was a tad bit sweet). But overall, I'd come back to explore more of the menu. read more

The perfect refreshing drink to cool you down while still giving you that signature Vietnamese caffeine kick. The coconut adds a nice depth and creaminess to the coffee without overpowering it, and the coffee itself is bold, rich, and properly strong. It honestly tastes just like the coffee you'd get in Vietnam. Place is super cozy with lots of seating. I visited Cong Caphe to redeem my free birthday drink through their loyalty program and they did ask for my ID to confirm eligibility. I decided to order their Saigon Salted Kumquat to go as I wanted to order a more traditional drink that wasn't coffee. It wasnt very crowded so I was able to grab a seat to wait. The store was filled with authentic Viet vintage decor making the atmosphere very cozy. The drink was very refreshing with slight spice though I expected the kumquat to have more flavour, probably diluted into the drink. read more

Last year, I tried Vietnamese coffee for the first time and found it seriously delicious, so when I knew I'd be walking by Cong Caphe, I knew I had to pop in and give it a try. They've got a lot of tasty-sounding drinks on their menu, but I was intrigued by the Salted Cream Coffee. And indeed, it's very tasty. It's exactly what I was hoping for, with its rich, creamy flavor that's just sweet enough. However, it was an almost comically tiny beverage. It's not an exaggeration to say I was finished within about a minute of taking my first sip. (In fact, I took three sips and the drink was already finished.) And given that it cost me about eight bucks, I really didn't feel like I got my money's worth. I would consider ordering from Cong Caphe again, but yeesh, do something about those portions, guys. read more

Great cafe to enjoy Vietnamese drinks and snacks. Their first floor seating is usually filled up first and their window bench/ledge seating is always desired. Cong Caphe's coconut sticky rice drink is my favorite. The basement holds more seating and working spaces and there are usually people enjoying the space. The cafe's internet is usually spotty, so use your own LTE. My go to spot when recommending a more unique cafe selection and it's conveniently near Eaton Centre and TMU. Lastly, having been to their Vietnam locations, I can say that their quality and taste is authentic and true to local tastes. read more

first time at this location, though i've been to their mississauga spot before and already had a good feeling coming in. the staff were friendly from the moment we walked in -- easy, no-pressure kind of service. and the decor is really charming. it has this old fashioned, traditional feel to it that you don't really see a lot anymore. it just has character. the space is on the smaller side when you first walk in, but they do have a downstairs area as well -- i didn't get a chance to check it out this visit, so i can't speak to what it's like down there. i got the brown drink, which was the main reason i came. i'm a fan of vietnamese coffee in general, and it's not always easy to find something like this close to where i work, so having this place nearby is genuinely a win for me. it did not disappoint. they also have banh mi on the menu, which i didn't try this time but is a good enough reason to come back. prices felt pretty standard -- nothing surprising on the bill. overall a really pleasant visit. i'll def come back. happy this location exists! read more

You cannot go wrong with their $1 vinabrew! It's a quality roast, offered in hot and cold. The promotion runs until the end of the month. I had to swing by to grab myself a cup after lunch the other day. I had their peanut butter latte previously and it was quite memorable. It was a seasonal special. Stopped by this cozy Elm St location after having ramen nearby for lunch. Figured I'd grab a coffee to boost my energy before returning to work. There was a giant line (which I found out after approx 2 min was for ppl waiting to get into the tattoo parlour next door lol) that blocked the door. The girl at the counter walked me through some of their most popular drinks and I told her I didn't want something too sweet. She helped me settle on a new item. An iced peanut butter coffee which sounded like it would actually be good (also something I'd never tried). Here's why I have a mixed feeling about this place. The coffee itself was crazy good. No hint of sweetness. Just smooth, heavy peanut butter and robust coffee flavour with NO bitter aftertaste/curl at all. Where I have issue is the amount of ice that they put in my drink. Yes, it's an iced coffee but just take a look at the pic I posted and you'll be able to see how egregiously they overdid the amount. My cup was damn near 3/4 full of ice. If I did a pour test and poured out the actual liquid itself I'd have maybe 1/3 of a cup of coffee. Charged me $6.05 for dare I say, basically a shot's worth of incredible coffee. I can't say it's justified. Because of the amount of ice and what they charge for this cup, I gotta drop a star (was actually thinking of even giving 3.5 stars rather than 4 but that coffee was amazing). If I knew they were gonna be so sneaky w/ the ice I prolly would've ordered a smoothie in hindsight lol. P.S. A little pricey but the coffees here were great. I really enjoyed the iced salted coffee but wish there was more coffee in the cup. The hot white coffee was also pretty good and my wife really enjoyed the saigon salted kumquat. I also tried their banh mi which was good but the bread was pretty small. Super cute space I love the decor it's very unique. I do feel bad though right now they do have quite a bit of construction going on around them I almost missed it while I was walking. The staff's pretty friendly. they'll answer any question you want on how to select the best coffee for you. I decided to go for the iced brown coffee it comes in one size. The coffee is rich and strong but it's absolutely a delicious. Before I ordered it the barista did explain to me that it's their second strongest coffee so some people do ask for sweetener or they might add water to thin it out. And I did understand I did add end up adding little bit of water to mine. It comes with condensed milk and it was a little hard to mix into the coffee so I do think that this might have been a better choice served hot they do serve it hot I just chose cold but I imagine it would have been easier to mix the condensed milk into the hot coffee rather than the cold coffee that's the only a thing that I struggled with it took a really long time to mix that condense and milk to get a good consistency read more

For their most recent specials, starting 2025-06-20 until 2025-07-13, they were featuring their coconut series smoothies ($7.85 to $8.10). They were on special for only $5.00! We were so excited! My friend and I were in the area, saw this place, and said, "why not?" We both got iced drinks, the brown coffee and white coffee. The brown tasted stronger than the white but the white was a bit sweeter. I liked that this place opened up by Yonge street because their other location was a bit far for me and I do not frequent that area to try it out. 4 stars for coconut coffee 2 for service for service and retail layout I've been to the one at Bloor. I enjoyed my visit there. This location sucks. First the retail layout is not li up friendly. It easily goes out the door. I was only planning to get takeout and didn't enjoy my time spent there. I had a Cacio Pepe croissant to go. Cash was still leaning so he didn't know the code to punch in. Then he got the tongs to grab the last one in the display case and it fell through the front too shelf and made its to the bottom. Sigh... he looked at me. Half smiled at me as an apology. Didn't apologize. Didn't offer anything consolation. Th le bottom shelf was kind of gross too but I was desperate and took it anyways. Yah kinda wish he offered something .. even if it's bump up my coffee size / discount on my croissant. Sigh .... Don't think I'll come back to this location I honestly don't like the seating on the main floor. They are tight if you plan to stay there for a while, good luck. Pretty much everyone will hear your conversation. I'm assuming the basement area is better seating since I saw many people went straight down to look for friends-m / a table first. Love this charming cafe with a vintage Vietnam theme. Recently we got lured in here with their $1 vina brew, it's really good! Not as intense as Vietnamese coffee, so you can enjoy it black or however you normally drink your coffee, I had mine with milk only. Caveat, I'm not usually a coffee drinker but my SO who does drink daily enjoyed it. Plus it's a great way to give it a try during the promotion period. It may look like seating is limited but they have plenty more seating downstairs. I love the vibe downstairs with the wall of lamps and the cute mini table and chairs. I think it would be a great spot for a coffee date. I've been here a few times and tried their flavoured coffees, which are really good too. Definitely give their unique peanut butter coffee a try, comforting and a great drink to cozy up during the fall season. Came by as this place was recommended by a viet friend. Got the brown, it's got condensed milk at the bottom followed by coffee with foam on top. It was delicious. Just enough ice, the coffee was as strong as my kid's personality, it's enough caffeine to get me through the day downtown. Make sure you make it very thoroughly! Server was nice and quick. The first time I visited Cộng Cà Phê was in Hanoi. It's a popular Vietnamese coffee shop chain in Vietnam, so I was pleasantly surprised to see this familiar coffee shop name in Toronto! The interior of this location looked more modern than the ones I visited in Hanoi, but they did try to replicate some of the old-school look. The menu seemed to offer more sugary drinks. There were Vietnamese coffee (both cold and hot) - lattes, coconut coffee smoothie, coconut green rice smoothie, coconut mung bean smoothie, etc. One thing that I didn't see on the menu (which is super popular in all coffee shops throughout Vietnam) was egg coffee. Maybe they'll add it to the menu one day, or perhaps they determined that it wouldn't do as well here? This is a Vietnamese café in Toronto's downtown area near Yonge-Dundas. They serve drinks as well as pastries and bánh mì. I tried their Jasmine Iced tea and the lemongrass chicken bánh mì. Overall, really good and would recommend. The Jasmine tea had a nice mild flavor to it. The bánh mì was fresh, the bread was nice and soft, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. We've heard great things about this spot from a local foodie that we follow on IG... so while walking down Elm during the holidays, we definitely wanted to check this spot out. Upon entering, the menu is a little intimidating - their drinks had a lot of things we hadn't heard of but definitely sounded good! There was a coffee section, espresso-like section and some cold ones. We asked the associate to help out and she was kind to explain what they offered - the hubs was set on a cold brown coffee (with condensed milk) and I was excited to try the hot white (coconut milk and condensed milk)! The cold drink - make sure you use the straw as it's quite bitter without one...but I LOVED my white. The coconut milk really levelled up my coffee and it was delicious! They did have a small offering of foods (banh mi's) and we'd love to come back to try other items! It was super cute; it's a smaller space but there is more seating downstairs. Lovely little cafe that's beautifully designed, with a welcoming casual vibe and helpful people. I can see many just hanging out here and enjoying the place. So my rating likely comes down to personal taste. Tried their hot brown coffee (coffee with condensed milk), cold white coffee (coffee with condensed milk and coconut milk) and coconut cocoa (smoothie type coffee with cocoa). Brown was a tad too sweet, white had a bit too much milk and not enough coffee, and cocoa was a bit too sludge-y for my tastes. The second location of Cong Caphe in Toronto is located along Elm St. near Yonge. This worldwide Vietnamese coffee chain serves a variety of caffeinated beverages (coffee - phin or espresso, tea), sodas, and juices. They also have pastries (I saw from La La Bakeshop) and banh mis made to order as well. I've been meaning to try Cong Caphe ever since they came to Toronto but their first location in the Annex always seemed so busy every time I passed by the place. I was definitely excited that they had a new location close to Yonge and Dundas. Prior to opening their 2nd location, Cong Caphe also gave out free small samples of their popular coconut coffee at Yonge-Dundas Square as well. I stopped by Cong Caphe on a Wed morning around 9am. The store is quite big with ample seating on the main floor as well as the basement. There were already a few tables with people enjoying their coffee and food. Choosing what to get was difficult as they have a lot of different coffee drinks available. I decided to opt for an iced brown Vietnamese 'phin' coffee and a classic cold cut banh mi. My order was made at a reasonable time, around 5 min. Service was friendly and efficient. The iced coffee was strong and delicious. I was afraid it would be super sweet due to the condensed milk but it wasn't super sweet which I appreciated. The banh mi bread was warm which was nice. I wished the bread was a bit crunchier/crispier though. The classic cold cut banh mi was definitely tasty - the sandwich was filed with the cold cuts, pate, pickled veggie and herbs you'd expect in a banh mi. Great tasting banh mi and I definitely wouldn't hesitate to get it again (although you can get cheaper banh mis elsewhere in the city). We stopped by this cafe for bubble tea and they only had 2 bubble teas available and neither of them were dairy free. We ordered a watermelon lychee fruit juice, and a cinnamon milk tea. The Watermelon lychee fruit juice was really good. It had a thick texted like you would get in a bubble tea and the lychee flavour was very prevalent. It tasted delicious and I highly recommend this juice. I just found the portion size a bit small. The Cinnamon milk tea was also really good. My husband ordered this drink and it tasted like horacha. The flaw was we forgot to say no ice and once again the portion size was way too small in the to go cup because of how much ice they put into the drink. It tasted delicious but wasn't worth it cost wise. The service was really good and efficient and the ambiance was ok. It's a pretty casual place. Would I recommend it? I wouldn't necessarily recommend it because there are other boba restaurants that serve bigger portions and have more dairy free options. read more

I don't know why but Vietnamese coffee just had a better kick when you want some caffeine. We came across Cong Caphe during our last day in Toronto.  I got coconut green rice and it was a delicious dessert drink. My friends got coconut coffee and the vina latte and they really enjoyed their drinks too. Service was a bit slow I think we waited 15 mins for our drinks. They have a bigger seating area downstairs and also a clean restroom for customers.  I wish we have something similar in SGV/LA. read more
