    Sushi Menu #1

We have been visiting Salina for a long time, and always wished there was a nice dinner restaurant with high quality steaks. Barolo delivers. We had to sit at a high top, but the service was great, as was the food. We ordered a couple of sushi dishes, both of which were very good. The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare and were tender and flavorful, one with blue cheese sauce and the other with peppercorn. Another guest got the tortellini and she said it was delicious. The potstickers were also very tasty. We will be back.

Went here it's very very formal me and my wife was way under dressed for this place and they still treated us very well originally chose a high chairs and table but had to move the seats were uncomfortable moved us to a booth table we had a very comfortable warm experience here and Great fresh food but I will say it's very pricey and portion sizes are very small for your buck we had a bill of 98 dollars just with two meals and appetizer I don't recommend the tuna it was very chewy and blaned I highly recommend the salmon wife had that I had a sample of it it was on the special of the day it was was very great and the asparagus was a tad undercooked very hard and chewy

This restaurant was suggested to us by some friends back home for the next time we were traveling through Salina. We made a reservation for 3 about an hour before we arrived and had no trouble getting in. Our food was amazing! The sashimi plate was GORGEOUS--I don't know how else to describe it. We tried several different cocktails, all were very good. A surprising favorite was the blueberry habanero margarita. So yummy! Our service was GOOD. The decor and atmosphere were classy. It was an all around great evening. Thank you!! We will be back.

Ok. I was hesitant at first. The online menu seemed to offer items that seemed a bit pricey. But, made reservations and went earlier on a Friday. And I was just wow'ed. the "Small Plates" off of the happy hour" which was Korean sticky ribs, ahi street tacos, pot stickers, and Mediterranean flat bread, were all just great. Very shareable and filling. The presentation was well done. And the service was great. Normally, I do not give all stars, but they earned it. So, if you are hesitant, go early and enjoy the early bird menu and try them out first.

I love eating for free. Being in downtown MHK, it's a relatively small joint. However, the spacing is easy to navigate, and the decor is very mature. They take themselves seriously, as they should! Anywho, tapas is a very European dining style, with small plates designed to not fill you immediately, so you're able to try several items on the menu in one night. After several visits now, I can say with full confidence that everything on the menu is worth trying and worth the money. The drinks are well measured and nicely balanced. They have experienced staff who know their menu, in the sense that their explanations are very informative. Please, treat yourself and get that basque cheesecake. It's pretty amazing! I'd recommend this to any alumni or parent taking a weekend to watch the cats give a beat down on the gridiron, and looking for a nice, memorable dinner with the family. Once again, students beware! This one isn't cheap! Lol.

This place failed miserably even setting the bar low already beforehand. After getting sat & taking our order it was downhill from then on to the end of our meal. Our waitress seemed like she had no clue what she was doing or it was her 1st day. She knew nothing about the menu or their food items when asked. She even messed up a iced tea drink how do you do that? We tried to keep it easy for them & ordered their big ticket item the Sushi boat. Man this was a huge mistake! Everything was Chefs choice which is normal. Waitress brought out the boat & just said here you go, huh? Does this place not understand the concept of explaining what they are serving to you? Especially a sushi boat that's all Chefs choice, so at least you know what you are eating? Lets get to this $60 Sushi Boat, they call the "LOVE BOAT" HAHA Lets just say, I would have LOVED to throw all of it back into the ocean. It was that bad no hyperbole Nothing about it was salvageable, the Sashimi, was either falling apart, not prepared or seasoned right, frozen solid, or tasted like a spongy rag. It would fall apart in your mouth, had ZERO taste! 1 positive was that the pieces were pretty chunky. The Nigiri, man really bad, was all mostly HUGE CHUNKS of SOLID STALE RICE, with a small sliver of DRY tasteless fish on top, who uses that much rice for NIGIRI? The fish on top was bland at best for all of them, even the soy sauce couldn't make it taste better! Thats when you know place is bad when fish doesnt taste better with soy sauce The ginger they gave us looked like it was pickled in a toilet & horrible rancid tasting Last was the cream cheese crab rolls & tempura rolls, 1st of all when you order a premium sushi boat anywhere in the world let alone middle of Kansas when do they call a cream cheese crab cut roll, a premium item let alone included on premium sushi boat or a deep fried crab roll? You're supposed to include your premium items on a sushi boat like this, but nope not here! The deep fried tempura roll, which was all mostly fried & could barely tell what was even in it, all you could taste was fried tempura, the cream cheese roll, same, all you could taste was the rancid tasting strong cream cheese overpowering it Not 1 piece of this overpriced thing was edible. NOT EVEN 1! The appetizer we ordered, was Fried Shrimp shumai, easy item to make. They effed that up too! It was over fried & all you could taste was the fried tempura part, no flavor, tasted like cardboard, let alone shrimp also couldn't taste it inside. Id be surprised if there was any shrimp in it at all! The service level alone was abysmal at best, not to mention she forgot our utensils, never brought out any ginger, serving plates for us to eat on, napkins, for our unknown sushi boat etc Literally all sorts of easy mistakes left & right, no attention to detail whatsoever. Extremely sloppy waitressing & service At same time should have known better, was literally 4 college girls working there, they decided to sit directly next to us, when it was close to closing time, not even a few feet away, arms distance being loud, talking about "hey you should just F**K that guy, so you can get what you want" also shouting at kitchen worker "Alberto" "Alejandro" in the back. This was the best part, they close at 11PM, they served us our sushi boat at around 10:45PM ish, at 11PM sharp! Our server, who gave us brilliant service (SARCASM), not wasting a minute.... Because she probably had to go "F**K that guy she was screaming with her coworkers, to get what she wants, few minutes prior said "NO RUSH" but need to close you out, which is fine I get that part, we close out no problem Literally, I mean literally, still had 2/3 of our horrendous sushi boat left, she comes back 4 minutes later @ 11:04, saying sorry "We do close at 11pm, have to ask you to close out & leave" HUH? You complete & utter moron, 4 min prior you saw how much food was left on our giant Sushi boat, that you brought out at 10:45ish with no utensils, plates or anything, then bring our check 11 SHARP saying "NO RUSH" only to come back 4 min later to say we have to leave since you guys are closed at 11PM?!?! This is after we just ordered the MOST EXPENSIVE OVERPRICED ITEM ON YOUR MENU & NOT LET US FINISH THIS TERRIBLE QUALITY NIGIRI, SASHIMI & STALE ASS ROLLS YOU GAVE US TO EAT IN 10-15 min?!?! LOL. You can only laugh at this bullshit WORST SUSHI RESTAURANT EVER! SERVICE, FOOD QUALITY, ENVIRONMENT, AMBIANCE, WORKERS, PRICES. ALL OF THE ABOVE embarrassingly BAD! TOTAL NIGHTMARE DINNER!!! Even for already setting bar low & being in middle of Kansas this was a total joke of a restaurant! NEVER GO HERE!!!! EVEN IF YOU ARE DRUNK & HIGH! STAY AWAY & SAVE YOUR MONEY FROM THESE CLOWNS! DONATE IT TO CHARITY, would have been put to better use!

It's a small little shop with a few dining tables. Aside from the main food menu, they also sell Asian snacks and animated figurines. They have a very nice big selection of food on their menu and I honestly wished I ordered something different for my first time. My husband had his usual stir fry udon noodles with extra toppings and I ordered their curry, egg drop soup and gyoza since it was a very cold day and I was in the mood for something warm and comforting. Honestly, I didn't enjoy the curry at all. It tasted bland and very sour, it lacked the hint of savory and sweet flavor that traditional Japanese curry usually has. The egg drop soup was also very bland and lacked flavors. The gyoza was decent and that was the only thing that I enjoyed out of all the three items I ordered. My husband noticed I didn't like my food at all so he took it back to the restaurant and they were able to exchange it to stir fry udon noodles. I really enjoyed the noodles! It was bursting with flavors and it had a good hint of spice to it. The portion was huge so I definitely had some leftover. Service is good and very accommodating. We'll be back to try other items off their menu!
