Enthusiastic, informed, and encouraging. She has an encyclopedic knowledge of the kitchen and bar. We must have interacted with a dozen folks: hosts, food runners, sommelier, and managers. Everyone was unfailing polite and professional. bar: I drank a Bulleit Rye Manhattan ($11) and my wife had a Grey Goose Cosmo ($13). Both were strong showings of those two classic cocktails. I followed up with a Boulevard Single Wide IPA bottle ($6) and was thrilled to see that old reliable. food: Service begins with exceptional bread and complimentary Baba Ghanoush. The menu described my wife's Pappardelle Bolognese ($25) as having, "mean mule Bolognese sauce." Have never seen the term, mean mule, but this version appeared to incorporate some cream. My 5 oz. Salmon Piccata ($25) with broccolini, asparagus, and rice was very good. We finished with Ultimate Chocolate Cake ($16) and - as the menu describes - it really is for two persons or take-home. It was my birthday and the restaurant graciously comped my dessert, which was extremely nice. details: This is a large, bustling, bright restaurant with choice of inside, outside, and bar seating. Reservations are highly recommended, at least for busy times. We parked on the street and even on Saturday night with a show at the Stiefel Theatre we had no problems.

We stopped for the night in Junction City and decided to try Highwind Brewing. Good on us! We (DH…read moreand I) had the Shandy and the amber ale (we can't remember the names) and they were both really good. The bar was busy (it was a Friday night) but well staffed so we didn't have to wait. The food is food hall style where you go to a counter (there are two) and place your order then pick it up when it's prepared. We went to The Mill (pizza, calzones and salads). I had the Italian Chopped Salad and the flavors were spot on; DH had the Greek Salad with chicken and really liked it, too. Be aware, it's a loud, noisy hall; that's the only thing that I'd prefer was different. We will go again when we go thru Junction City.

Highwind Brewing Co is one of the best breweries I ever got to have lunch at!…read more I was out in the area for business and decided to have lunch here with my colleague. What I ordered was out of this world and it was called a Bacon Brew Burger (this burger is the dish that this brewery is known for). The burger consisted of cheddar, crispy onion, ale mustard, and what threw me off for a nice surprise was the bacon-onion jam. Ahhhh man so delicious! On the other hand, I got to sample a new brew that they just released (totally forgot what it was called) and the beer was just as tasty as the burger I had. Anyways, the vibes of this restaurant were nice and the layout is open. You definitely feel comfortable and at home being here. The service was absolutely excellent as well - it was as if I was hanging out with friends back at home! If I'm back in the area I know where I'm going to have lunch again :) thank you so much ya'll

I love eating for free. Being in downtown MHK, it's a relatively small joint. However, the spacing is easy to navigate, and the decor is very mature. They take themselves seriously, as they should! Anywho, tapas is a very European dining style, with small plates designed to not fill you immediately, so you're able to try several items on the menu in one night. After several visits now, I can say with full confidence that everything on the menu is worth trying and worth the money. The drinks are well measured and nicely balanced. They have experienced staff who know their menu, in the sense that their explanations are very informative. Please, treat yourself and get that basque cheesecake. It's pretty amazing! I'd recommend this to any alumni or parent taking a weekend to watch the cats give a beat down on the gridiron, and looking for a nice, memorable dinner with the family. Once again, students beware! This one isn't cheap! Lol.

I swear the water comes from the fountain of youth but the waitress says it's municipal tap water. The food is unlike anything else in a 50mi radius. (Eat your heart out Topeka :D) This time around I tried the Dutch baby and it was surprisingly tame but the white bean and tomato dip came to the rescue. The fam always loves this place and you should never let down the fam. Just frickin pleasant and ish XD
