We have been visiting Salina for a long time, and always wished there was a nice dinner restaurant with high quality steaks. Barolo delivers. We had to sit at a high top, but the service was great, as was the food. We ordered a couple of sushi dishes, both of which were very good. The steaks were cooked to a perfect medium rare and were tender and flavorful, one with blue cheese sauce and the other with peppercorn. Another guest got the tortellini and she said it was delicious. The potstickers were also very tasty. We will be back. read more

Service and ambiance is amazing. I am from Denver and love that Barolo incorporates the Salina mural trend to add to the downtown vibe. Menu selection was great with a lot of options; sushi is at such a great price! Food: sushi was great, my steak was cooked to perfection; the mixed vegetables (cauliflower and broccoli) unfortunately was over seasoned with lack pepper; as if the chef accidentally over seasoned it and it wasn't edible. My steak came with a side salad that was about a half a cup size, with two ripe cucumber slices. My other guest had a salad with salmon and the salmon was cooked well but looked like it was about 3 bites and the salad was also about a half cup size of lettuce. read more

We walked in on a Saturday about an hour and half before a show at the Stiefel Theatre and they were busy but getting people seated quickly. We'd never been before and the server took the time to go over the menu with us which was great because the menu is eclectic. The interior gives very order steak house vibes and then around the corner SUSHI BAR! We split the fried green tomatoes and some sashimi to start, the tomatoes were fine but the sashimi was excellent! Some of the best since we moved to Kansas. Husband got the steak tips with mushrooms and Gorgonzola mashed potatoes and I got the scallops. Both were good but he won if you know what I mean. Went here it's very very formal me and my wife was way under dressed for this place and they still treated us very well originally chose a high chairs and table but had to move the seats were uncomfortable moved us to a booth table we had a very comfortable warm experience here and Great fresh food but I will say it's very pricey and portion sizes are very small for your buck we had a bill of 98 dollars just with two meals and appetizer I don't recommend the tuna it was very chewy and blaned I highly recommend the salmon wife had that I had a sample of it it was on the special of the day it was was very great and the asparagus was a tad undercooked very hard and chewy read more

This restaurant was suggested to us by some friends back home for the next time we were traveling through Salina. We made a reservation for 3 about an hour before we arrived and had no trouble getting in. Our food was amazing! The sashimi plate was GORGEOUS--I don't know how else to describe it. We tried several different cocktails, all were very good. A surprising favorite was the blueberry habanero margarita. So yummy! Our service was GOOD. The decor and atmosphere were classy. Great food. We weren't expecting gourmet food in Salina but we were pleasantly surprised. Only wish they were in our home town. The only thing that we wouldn't recommend is the bread pudding which hasn't much flavor. It was also burnt on the bottom. I think we may have gotten the end piece. A beautiful spot downtown with an elegant atmosphere! The Flatbread was delicious and part of their Small Plate menu along with Poke Nachos. The seasoning on the flatbread was just right and it was crisp without being dry or greasy. A new favorite. There was plenty for 3! The Portobello Burger was so good on a onion bun with some sweet potato fries. Next time I'll try their rosemary fries! Service is outstanding! Save room for some Key Lime pie for dessert! Ok. I was hesitant at first. The online menu seemed to offer items that seemed a bit pricey. But, made reservations and went earlier on a Friday. And I was just wow'ed. the "Small Plates" off of the happy hour" which was Korean sticky ribs, ahi street tacos, pot stickers, and Mediterranean flat bread, were all just great. Very shareable and filling. The presentation was well done. And the service was great. Normally, I do not give all stars, but they earned it. My husband and I recently did an RV trip from Colorado to Virginia to be at our son's wedding. On the way back, we stopped in Salina, KS for one night before heading back home. We were tired and hungry and searched for the area restaurants. The Barolo Grille had very good reviews and we decided to give it a try. We were so glad that we did! The restaurant decor was classy, not overdone. The food was much better than we anticipated. Gourmet choices along with Sushi which we didn't try but heard it was great! The staff was friendly and attentive. All in all, it was a very enjoyable and surprising treat after a long day of driving. We will certainly stop next time we come this way! read more

What a time we had with our Server Sade! She was amazing! If you go definitely ask for her! The food... such a good selection on items you might not have tried but I tell you what... the ribeye was amazing with the venato topping! The bartender couldn't have been more pleasant. Kara had a welcoming smile, was attentive and informative. Chilled salad plates are always a bonus, so starting with a refreshing Caesar side salad got us off on the right foot. The Jambalaya was a "10" in taste and bountiful in portion.
