I loved it. You have to make an appointment online so they can give you the 1:1 service. It felt like my son was a prince because he had his own shopping experience. We were looking for a barong for my sons christening and this was the only place in North County where we could actually try it on. Filipino sizes don't always coincide with American sizes so I didn't want to take a chance. Cello was amazing. She really assisted us w asking about our preferences per the cost and the occasion. My wife, brother, sister-in-law, and I were in the market for barongs and Filipinianas for a blessed family event later this year and my wife had found the Barong Warehouse on social media. I had been bugging her for us to make an appointment and we finally made one, which also worked for my brother and his wife, so we made it a daytime double date. We were able to find beautiful and intricate barongs and well designed Filipinianas that we'll be proudly wearing and showing a part of our Filipino culture at our event. Besides the large selection to choose from, what I really loved about our first time visit to the Barong Warehouse was the personalized, attentive, and friendly customer service from the owner Chelo. Barong Warehouse is located in Escondido where we took the E. Valley Parkway route to get to the shop. It's approximately 15 minutes from Valley View Casino. The store can be found within a small strip mall called Old Mill Pond. Other tenants of this mall are Mediterranean Fuego Grill, Los Plebes Barbershop, and Jafra. It's next to Bamboo House Chinese Restaurant and it's across the street from the Palomar College Escondido Education Center. There's plenty of parking for customers. There's a koi fish pond in the middle of the strip mall. If you want to visit Barong Warehouse, it's by appointment only and the appointments can be made on their website. If you have more than three people shopping, make appointments back-to-back, so that you have an entire hour to shop. Before I visited the store, I wondered why they operated by appointments, but after shopping there, I now understand why. By making visits by appointment, Chelo was able to give her undivided attention to us and assist all four of us without being interrupted. I really enjoyed our shopping experience because Chelo was super friendly, displayed patience, gave us great recommendations, and she had a positive personality. The Barong Warehouse is not a big store, but it maximizes its space. One part of the store has the barongs and to the right of the barongs are the Filipinianas. There's a long, comfortable sofa you can sit on after you've selected your clothing. There are two mirrors that you can use to look at the clothing you're thinking about. My brother and I were interested in a variety of barongs and Chelo was so helpful with bringing out different sizes and styles. She even helped us take off the barongs when we had difficulty taking them off after we looked at ourselves in the mirrors. My brother and I are big dudes, so we were glad that Chelo had larger sizes for us to try on. Besides the traditional barongs where the buttons go down 3/4s of the way down, they also sell barongs that button down from the top to the bottom. They also sell standard collars, Chinese collars, jackets, and short sleeve barongs. They have high end fabric and not as expensive. I wish the tags showed the prices of each of the barongs because we had to ask Chelo multiple times what were the costs of the barongs we tried. My wife and SIL really enjoyed the selection of Filipinianas, so much so that my SIL purchased two of the same style, but different colors. Along with Filipino apparel, the store sells Filipino merchandise. If you're in the market for a barong or Filipiniana, I highly recommend the Barong Warehouse to find a beautiful, elaborate, and well crafted piece to show off our Filipino culture. The friendly customer service from Chelo is why this shop should be the first and only place to check out. read more

We came here in search of a baron for my father to wear to my mom's. Cello was fantastic. She was personable and patient. I've ordered barongs from their online store, and this was the first time we were able to visit the storefront. Available by appointment only. They had so much varieties of barong to choose from. Which everything is made from the Philippines, I highly believe in supporting our kababayan esspecially with the amount of work that is put in these garments. They even had filipinana dresses and home goods. Their prices were also great and reasonable , we ended purchasing 2 barongs, a jacket, and a scarf. They also do offer alterations unfortunately we did not have enough time as we needed this item in two days. And Cello even steamed our garments, which is very helpful. So happy to have Barong Warehouse in Escondido as it's much closer drive than LA. Cello was very accommodating with scheduling an appointment last minute. She was also very helpful with picking out a Barong for my husband and a Filipina bolero for me. Plenty of selections to choose from, but you can also customize, which is what my husband did. What a gem! Never thought we'd find a barong shop in Escondido. Barong Warehouse is truly the best of the best when it comes to experience, quality, professionalism, and service. Their store is very clean and organized. Prices are comparable, but can also be pricey, which makes sense given the merit of their products. The best thing, they're able to make alterations! This is for their website and customer service. I had ordered a Sungka to have since it was one of my favorites as a kid. I had received my order and was a bit disappointed since it wasn't what was described. I wrote an email asking if it wasn't possible to fix (I wasn't expecting a whole lot since it's from another maker). A few weeks later, I received another that was in a much better condition and a handwritten note. I am so pleased with their treatment of their customers. Amazing service and good selection! My grandfather passed recently and my family decided to wear traditional Filipino formal wear to his funeral. We were able to get a next day appointment. We brought the whole family and were able to find 2 shirts and 5 dresses. They even had cute dress options for my toddlers! The prices here were lower than other barong stores in SD we've been to. Had to set an appointment to shop in the store. No big deal because I knew that it wouldn't be super busy. I got there about 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment and she opened the door and greeted me by name. At that point, I knew that it was gonna be an easy purchase. Told her exactly what I wanted and she found something that was very comparable to what I needed. Marie was kind and patient with my request and showed me a few selections before I chose which I think is perfect. Must make an appointment on their website to get your personal fitter. No need to drive to LA or fly to the Philippines to get a barong. Needed one for a wedding, they do have pre made barongs but couldn't find one that fit well. So had one custom made to fit right and I could pick the design. The measurements were taken and the barong was made via from the Philippines. Will come back if I want another one made. Almost the same price I could get in Manila but one less plane ticket. Definitely recommend and they also do Filipina dresses too. read more

I was required to pay in full for a custom dress at the time of ordering, but I never received it. This is the short version of what became a long and stressful experience. I plan to take the matter to court to seek full reimbursement when I have the time. The owner apologized and said they were having issues with their vendors in the Philippines, but based on my experience, I would not recommend purchasing anything you cannot take home the same day. I only came in wanting one barong... but I ended up leaving with three! That's how good the quality is at BW Barong Warehouse. The craftsmanship, the detail, the fit--everything is just on point. You can really tell they put so much care into every piece, and it's all rooted in Pilipino tradition. The store itself is amazing--super organized, beautiful displays, and just a great vibe overall. It's not one of those places where you feel rushed or overwhelmed. Instead, you actually enjoy the process of finding the right barong. Big shoutout to Chelo--she's seriously the best! She walked me through everything, from the types of fabric (like piña and jusi) to the meaning behind the different embroidery patterns. Super helpful, super friendly, and made the whole experience feel personal and easy. Further, I guess they think the majority of women are a size small. Check out the sections, 60-70% of the product is in size small and anything else is very poorly represented. Training is needed for staff. Use of cuss words and loud shouting and frankly ignoring buying customers is truly truly bewildering. I share this having purchased a dress where the attendant ripped the tag off so in case I wanted to return or exchange that wouldn't be an option. This wasn't on clearance or anything special. Just one of the very few size large dresses available. I wish they would get their act together because prices are fair and I love the concept. So much easier than thrifting, but at the expense of listening to teenagers act unprofessional and lack of proper size options..... no thanks.

We ended up going to their produce department and got a bag of persimmons, granny smith apples, a star fruit, etc. They are definitely better quality than the ones you get at the grocery stores. The fresh squeezed orange juice was delicious as well. The area was very cutely decorated for Christmas and plenty of parking available.

Grocery stores stock toys at kids' eye level. Target has several aisles stocked with toys that have their own television shows. Best Buy displays toys next to the checkout line. Gepetto's in Carlsbad is a small store stocked with top-quality toys, and in my experience staffed with people who are always eager to help and often able to help. The place is insane during the week before Christmas, but the staff somehow copes. I try not to go there at Christmastime. Shopping with a child for toys in a store whose inventory is not advertised on television is much simpler and more satisfying than taking the same kid to Target. Trust me, I've done both. Since in general the toys at Gepetto's are unknown to the child, there is far less of the "gimme gimme" that happens at Target. And whether a toy is still interesting and unbroken the next day is unrelated to its advertising. A 5-year-old in my family was astonished that there were no Minecraft toys at Gepetto's, and asked if we could go to the nearby bookstore because it would for sure have Minecraft toys. I find Gepetto's selection of child-compatible art supplies to be superior to what's in stores like Michael's, but they cost more. I don't mind.
