Been looking for white pants or leggings, just not white jeans. I found the nicest white pants with buttons on the sides unique! There were other styles I had picked but I tried on the button ones and adored them. I ran into other people in the shop that had birthdays. 3! They all came to Cotton Cottage for the special day! Linda, the owner, tried hard to help me find shoes I liked. I thought they were all fabulous but my big toe kept landing on the seam of the shoe, she really cared and did not just try to make the sale, she was simply wonderful! The clothes I have purchased have lasted and I enjoy them. I bought a beautiful flowy top that I just can't wait to wear. I feel like an Angel in it. At the Cotton Cottage you feel like in a cloud of...comfy cotton! literally. The boutique is tiny, but exploding with surprised one hanger at a time! So many cute items. I initially thought was a store focused in the 50+ age range, but I feel I can wear many of the colorful happy spring like tops and when feeling a happy hippy, one of those long cottony skirts. And, oh, give me one of those super pop hats too! Overall, it is a very nice boutique, and I could see the owner very busy with her clientele (that probably turn out to be friends, she seemed to be very friendly lady very attentive to the customer she was helping). I also checked some nice jewelry and found the prices to be very reasonable to be inside the winery that caters many tourists and you expect higher prices in there. read more

Wow, nothing like the owner ignoring you when you want to go pick up an item you ordered. She slowly redid displays, spoke with other people but couldn't just hand the bag to somebody that already paid for an item. Do not shop here!!! A few cute pieces in here, a lot of the same repetitive items and styles. The store is definitely in need of a remodel/update. The store is cramped, dirty and poorly organized. The owner herself is a bit off-putting. I do not find her to be helpful and friendly in any way, but rather pretentious and a know it all. The merchandise is colorful but all the same matronly drapey crap. When you drill it down it's the same stuff reordered over and over again in different color palettes. Really? read more

Owner is extremely annoying. Keeps suggesting of things to buy. Won't leave you alone. I agree with the other reviewer. She is pushy and does not know when to leave the customers alone. She will be the downfall of this place. I also don't like that you can't get a refund, only a store credit. That tells me a lot of negative things about a business when only credit is issued. To each his/her own about what style of clothing they like. Is that something to base a review on? No! And to attack her looks speaks volumes about the person writing the review! Pros - the clothing available for purchase is of good quality material, hence the higher prices. Well worth it, though. I've purchased quite a few pieces from this store and they are still doing their job. No frays, no stray threads, no shrinking... Store owner is very friendly. She makes suggestions about what goes well with what and has always hit the mark for me. She really goes out of her way for all of her customers. Lots of variety. If it isn't on the shelves, the owner offers to order it for you. Cons - this place can get super busy. So what do I do? Go get a glass of wine; after all I AM at a winery, and sit under the shade of the veranda and sip away until the herd has thinned out. I will continue to shop here, because I like the light, springy and beachy clothing Cotton Cottage has to offer. read more

Cotton Cottage is a fabulous little boutique located at the Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo. Wonderful clothes that you won't find anywhere else. Great, great prices. Make sure you get help from Linda, the owner. She can pull together outfits like you wouldn't believe. While visiting the Bernardo Winery I discovered Cotton Cottage a wonderful womens boutique. Linda the owner was so charming, she was very helpful and her shop had a lovely collection of apparel and jewelry. By the time I left I felt as if I had made a friend as she actually took the time to write down places to visit and her favorite restaurants. Linda, if you read this we took your advice and went to George's At The Cove and had a lovely lunch on the roof just could'nt have been better, great views and the staff was so helpful with my gluten allergy. We use to like this shop until we experienced horrible customer service. The owner needs a lesson in appreciating good customers. She has now lost several of us. I love shopping at the Cotton Cottage at the Bernardo Winery in Rancho Bernardo. It has great resort type clothing at reasonable prices and the owner, Linda, is so accommodating. She will order something in your size, if it is not in the store.
