I'm working a couple of months in Garden City, Kansas and I was told this was the fanciest restaurant with the best steaks by locals. The outside of the restaurant is very nice appealing inviting clean. Once I stepped in the door, the hostess was there to greet me. He asked if I wanted to sit in the sporty side or if I wanted to sit in the upscale luxury side. I opted to sit in the upscale dining area as the sporty area was really busy. Both areas looked very clean. Everything looks neat and in place. My server was Daisy. She was really nice. She was kind attentive and did ask if I had any questions and made recommendations. The food was the worst part. Everyone gets complementary bread and butter. The bread on the outside looks like it might've been a little undercooked. It was a very light in color when I cut it open in the middle. It was pure dough. A gentleman had come to my table, and I informed him that the bread was doughy in the middle and requested another loaf of bread. The gentleman came back with bread that was also still very doughy in the middle. He told me he would bake another one, but at this point, I figured it's fine. I don't need the bread. The potato skins were really good. The ranch however, tasted like something sweet was dropped in it like a vinegar et there was something with the ranch. I don't know what was in it, but it tasted it had like a tangy sweet taste. I was not a fan of the ranch dressing. At this point, it made me very nervous to order anything else so I just opted to do dessert as most places can't mess up a dessert. I got the Molten lava cake with vanilla ice cream. That as I suspected was very good. Unfortunately, I won't be revisiting this restaurant. They have potential to be a great place, but the food definitely lacks a lot. Cheers! read more

We loved the option to pick between fine dining or a sports bar and grill within the same restaurant. We ate at the bar side. For a sports bar, the atmosphere was classy. The service was quick, and the waitress was sweet. She got our order perfect the first time. Our food came out hot and fresh. Was shocked at the quality of food for the price. I wouldn't charge so much for so little. The one major complaint was the over saltiness on the fries. Other than that, it was good. read more

First time trying Baron's while on a work trip. Wasn't a fan of Sammy's which use to be at this location. I felt like Baron's was extremely overpriced - extremely. The cocktails were delicious, service was good besides standing awkwardly in the front for over 5 min before walking into the bar to get someone's attention (we even had a reservation). Bread given was delicious. We shared a charcuterie which was not high end at all- definitely not artisan aged cheese (see picture), not worth 20 bucks. We both had a ribeye- steak was great- not sure again it's worth 40 bucks- only comes with two sides and no salad or soup. Overall was tasty- but overpriced. read more

Barons has some good points and some areas that could be improved. +This is a nice looking restaurant and bar. +The bartender was busy but kind. Great cocktail and she was quick so definitely on the plus side. + sweet potato fries..yum! + coffee after dinner was good and made the dessert better. The area that really stood out as needing improvement would be the food. They're charging prices like they have a chef in the kitchen, but they most definitely do not. They have cooks - probably like truck stop cooks - one actually came into discuss a job while I was there. I had the flat iron steak salad- nothing special. Iceberg lettuce with some chopped cucumbers and tomatoes and blue cheese. The steak on top was also nothing special- no great flavor. I ordered crème brûlée for dessert because who doesn't love crème brûlée?!? Was a packaged mix- that's fine since I like it, but the caramelized sugar was a no go. It was like eating big chunks of sugar with every bite. The person making them should get a lesson or two on how to caramelize and use a superfine sugar instead of the course sugar. The menu is overpriced for what they're serving. read more

6 people at my table took over 20 minutes to get our drinks ( there was only 1 other table there ). Our food came out my Fettuccine Chicken Alfredo was absolutely terrible. The sauce was almost a sour tasting flavor, the chicken was excruciatingly dry. My in laws ordered a steak WELL DONE only the outside of the steak was okay, still pink, but okay. Just ok food, service was lacking. Never saw a waitstaff after food dropped off. Maybe a $25 steak but not close to worth $50 a steak. Will not come back and I don't do reviews but felt like this was so subpar I needed to let others know. read more

We really enjoyed our time at Barons. Shawna was great. Helpful on menu items, and friendly and attentive. Our food was excellent. They do prime here so the price is high end, but very good. Will be going back for Easter breakfast and report back on our experience and leave a photo or two. Would recommend you give them a try. read more

We have been coming to the Baron since they changed the name of the establishment. And loved the buffet for lunch when it was Sami's. We asked for Cholula hot sauce and they do not carry it only Louisiana Hot Sauce. We purchased 4 small bottles for the restaurant a gave to them . Everyone must like the Cholula Hot Sauce because we had breakfast there and asked for Cholula and they were out of it. Why doesn't the restaurant serve this style of hot sauce ? When customers ask for it. I guess I will have to bring my own bottle of hot sauce when I go there. Cholula does not have the vinegary taste like the Louisiana Hot Sauce. A lot of the eateries in town carry the Cholula Hot Sauce. Please your customers. It helps the restaurant business. read more

The waitstaff was excellent! The food wasn't. A steakhouse should at least know how to cook a steak that doesn't need a saw to cut.

We were frequent patrons of Samy's and found the change to Barons disappointing. The menu is very limited and high priced for the amount of food included for an entree. 2 people ordering 2 of the lowest priced items and one drink each paid 70$ for a mediocre meal. The salad bar is gone and there is an extra charge if you want a side salad. The only plus was the kind and professional wait staff. Looks like we'll be finding a new affordable date night restaurant. read more

Food was great, server was wonderful! Although I didn't like the way some ladies treat other employees. You shouldn't degrade or talk bad about coworkers in front of customers it's very unprofessional and makes people not want to come back.
