From start to finish, I was extremely pleased with Barr Roofing & Exteriors. I contacted several roofing companies to obtain bids for a new roof and was quite surprised that not only was someone answering the phone on a Saturday afternoon but that it was the owner, Martin Barr. Martin's bid wasn't the lowest nor the highest but the factor that sold us on Barr Roofing was Martin's responsiveness to our numerous questions as we were comparing bids and considering different roofing materials. Martin offered us different alternatives so that we could get everything on our "wish" list within our budget. Martin and his crew arrived promptly at 7 a.m. on the promised date for a scheduled two-day roof removal and install. Due to the chance of rain in the forecast, Martin directed the crew to work on the roof in sections in order to minimize the chance of exposing unfinished portions of the roof to moisture. My assumption is this process was more time consuming than having his crew rip off the entire roof all at once but it was a good precautionary measure as the rain showers did roll in the next day. I also had mentioned to Martin about replacing a window due to a broken seal and he suggested that I could probably just replace the broken panel. Martin took the time to track down the former manufacturer and provide me with information on who to contact to make a warranty claim instead of trying to sell me a new window installation. It is evident that Martin takes great pride in his work and genuinely cares about his clients. He is always available even beyond normal "office" hours and is quick to respond, even to non-urgent messages like I think I've changed my mind on the color shingles I selected (he has the patience of a saint). His crew members were professional and polite and cleaned up the work area each time they left. And if you're wondering, the new roof looks great! My husband and I cannot recommend Barr Roofing enough! We worked with Martin after having two other local roofing companies put us off. Not only was Martin able to give us a fair estimate, comparable to the other local roofing companies, he patiently waited as we hurdled hoops in the refinance process. He checked in through email and text, made suggestions, and moved jobs around to accommodate our rate-lock deadline. Above all, he listened to us. In this entire process we have been manipulated, discounted, and even ghosted by "professionals in the field". Martin's crew completed the job in less than 16 hours and left our property with not a single piece of scrap or trash behind. They replaced rotted wood and the old metal flashing on the front gable without issue. They did such a fantastic job on our roof we decided to hire them to redeck an old deck with composite. Told them exactly what we wanted, even made a few changes midstream (didnt phase them). They were on time, very professional and really outdid themselves. I never knew our deck could look this good. They leveled it up, cut off an old portion to make it smaller, reinforced framing. They even installed a shield over a light that was under the deck on a lower patio. Installed new deck lights also and black aluminum rails with led lighting. It looks fantastic. Have some additional work we want done next spring. ***** did the work on the deck. He was a perfectionist. ******, the owner, always kept in touch and more than willing to accommodate all our ideas. Great experience with Martin Barr! He was very detailed & complete when helping us select our materials for a big siding project. We were trying to match the existing look of the house, including trim colors, & deck support posts. He was very easy and enjoyable to work with. His communication with us was excellent. We were very impressed with the amount of time he spent planning our project to make sure it was exactly how we wanted it. His crews did a great job and he personally made sure it was all done properly and completely. They rebuilt some outdoor steps and were even able to match the railing to the existing deck railing. He returned to make sure we were happy with the finished job and even returned again to review a few questions we had. We could not have been more pleased.
