THIS IS FOR THE MARINA LOCATION. My obligatory Bagel & Lox in Mexico was interesting, but there was a slight language barrier. What I wanted and what I got were just a bit different, I dealt with it. I wanted a simple bagel, smoked salmon, cream cheese tomato and onion. Although the "bagel" is from Costco, cream cheese, tomato, onion, a bonus lettuce and cucumber were good. The local coffee was very good. So a BLT? Bagel Lettuce & Tomato? Satisfying with a hit of jalapeno.
Want to have some fruits after indulging last night? Feel like you need a boost of immunity? This is your place. I had an iced matcha latte and an immune shot. My partner got a berry rush smoothie. Friendly service. Clean.
I'm always on the hunt for a delicious meal replacement shake with peanut butter and bananas and Barra Light delivered. Your choice of milk, I went with almond milk. It comes with PB, Cocoa powder, bananas and amaranto. Delicious! Friendly and attentive staff/ service and for a Thur afternoon it was very lively.
If you are more health conscious, this is your place! The food is pretty much all "healthy" and they have tons of options. Bring CASH!
Such a nice place to have coffee. Across the street from Starbucks in the marina. Kitchen is so clean and salad fresh. I am a simple morning breakfast eater. We get excellent service from the kitchen chef. If I request changes on the menu they definitely listen and modify. Smoothie, acai bowls, bagels, and portions I enjoy. For me it is quality not quantity. My favorite place to have breakfast when away from home.
Huge fan of a cafe which has a make your own salad to choose from. Majority of the ingredients were fresh and there were a good few proteins and toppings to choose from. (Side Note: they have turkey, boiled eggs, tuna, and cheese as protein options in the freezer. I missed out on it as they only told me the chicken options) For 150 pesos I was able to get a HUGE 'medium' salad with 3 proteins (crab meat, coriander chicken, and garlic chicken) and 6 sides (sprouts x2, corn, black beans, white beans, and tomatoes). All were really fresh and the yoghurt with basil dressing was delightful. The iced latte was good. They had a good selection of sweeteners to choose from, including stevia. Very chill and relaxed atmosphere to dine in. I'm a fan.
We discovered Barra Light a few years ago when looking for a place to get a salad in Puerto Vallarta. Their concept is that they have a salad bar (I think Barra translates to Bar) where you pick ingredients you want added to your salad (bed of Romaine) and the workers assemble the salad while you wait. There are three salad sizes; small, medium and large. Depending on the size, you pick the number of proteins for the size you order (4 proteins for a large) and then the number of ingredients (7 ingredients for a large). We always order a large salad to go, which is enough for the two of us to split as dinner. While we've only eaten their salads I have noticed several different items people are eating while we are ordering our salad, and everything has looked amazing, loaded bagels, paninis, other salads, breakfast items and smoothies. We will definitely eat something other than salad sometime. They have many Vegetarian and Vegan options as well. The salads are always fresh and filling. One other thing to mention are the salad dressing options. They have nine dressings to choose from, and every one that we've tried has been great with the current favorite being the yogurt-basil. One small complaint I can think of is that sometime in the last year they raised the price from $140 pesos to $154 pesos and reduced the number of ingredients on the large salad from 8 to 7. To both raise the price and reduce the number of ingredients is a bit much, but you are getting a meal for two for about $8usd total. Service is friendly and efficient.
I'm surprised Barra isn't busier. It's one of the few places in Zona Romantica to get a proper salad or lighter food. I tried the tuna panini. It was pretty good and was a large sandwich. The service was friendly.
One of my favorite places to visit when I'm in town. They've got the best smoothies and bowls in the area. Definitely stop by and support this awesome local business.
Best value healthy and delicious food in all of Puerto Vallarta Every care is taken to insure your safety comfort and provide a pleasing meal whatever your like and dislikes are. I recommend it without reservation.
Great selection of juices, smoothies, salads and sandwiches, even bagels. Air conditioned! I got an egg avocado and cheese bagel. The decor is light and fresh and they have clever little celery and lettuce in pots on the tables instead of flowers. There is also a selection of gluten free cakes and snacks to go. If it was organic i would give it 5 stars. They speak spanish and english and the owner is present helping and checking in and giving suggestions. Our food did not come out together as all is made one by one. Parking can be tricky so allow time or go to the huge public lot down the street around the corner.
I found this place on yelp and it was around the corner from my hotel. There's seating outside and inside. The place has really cute decor. A lot of healthy options which I love. They had vegan and vegetarian options. The service is really great. The food is good and portions are good. I also really liked the food presentation but I did notice this place is a little pricey and they only take cash. Overall okay experience. read more

This place was super clean. Staff was great. A lot of people complain for the wait times, but I'm on vacation I have nothing but time. It was definitely worth the wait. Food came out hot and fresh. This was probably the best breakfast I had when I visited PV. read more

Really love this place for a quick and healthy lunch option. They offer sandwiches, salads, soup, juices, and other misc. items. It is super clean, modern, and trendy inside. Plus, there is wifi! They offer combination deals on the back of the menu. I love that they even thought to include combinations for 2 people (cute af!). The small salad is still pretty sizeable IMO (you get two proteins and 4 toppings I believe). Combine with a soup (which is lactose and fat free according to the menu!), and you got yourself a heart-happy lunch. The toppings or "ingredients" for the salad are really fun and different.. they even have imitation crab as a protein! Turkey sandwich is only so-so. Turkey is the type of deli meat that is unsatisfying and feels kinda hammy. You know what I'm talkin about? A lot of juice and smoothie options - definitely recommend them if you're looking for a cleanse or a light meal. Next time I'm in PV, I'll definitely be stopping by read more

This is a great spot when you'd like a break from heavy/spicy Mexican food and want something refreshing. Cute little hidden gem nextdoor to players bar. They consist of salads, sandwiches, smoothies and more. We had the chicken panini and turkey ham panini. Would recommend for a light lunch and a taste of home. read more
Delicious fresh food. Everything is made to order. Salads are excellent, soups are tasty, and sandwiches yummy. Vegan, vegetarian, and other healthy options. Salads are the best in Zona Romantica. Had a salad and fresh juice here about six days of my two week vacation. Has outdoor courtyard, outside street, and inside eating options. Even their desserts are made in house! The only downside is they are not open for dinner. read more

We popped into Barra Light twice during our last trip to Vallarta. We are always looking for healthy options while we're traveling, because we tend to eat WAY too much while we're on vacation! Barra Light definitely fits the bill! They have an amazing menu with GIANT custom salads for lunch, and a great breakfast menu with light versions of your favorite Mexican breakfast dishes (like chilaquiles!). We also stopped in for some of their amazing smoothies - a nice pick-me-up on a hot day! Free wi-fi, air conditioning, friendly employees, and great food. Win win! read more

Ultra clean, modern, healthy, friendly, affordable, fresh, pet friendly, delicious, free wifi, I come here on a daily basis and it makes me happy. Steps away from the beach, it is my favourite place for lunch. I strongly recommend, you won't become fat here, and the staff will make you very happy. You order, sot down and pay before you go like in any place in the US. read more
