The only thing I don't like about Studio PinkFit is the distance, I have to trek out there from Centreville. It would be nice if they were closer like in Chantilly or if they sublet through a space like Centreville Dance Academy.

Per the instructions on groupon, I emailed Fran so that I could create a log in online but I didn't hear back from her so I called the office. Once my account was created, I was able to sign up for classes. I was informed before I took any classes I would need to take the Intro to Equipment class. Fran was the instructor. She was patient and helpful as it was my first time and I needed specialized attention. For my second session, I took Reformer I & II with Doreen. Foe my last session I took Tower with a substitute for Doreen. All the instructors were patient, helpful, and friendly. They ask if anyone had injuries and they walk around and if your technique is wrong they adjust and correct you which I greatly appreciated. The classes were challenging to me since I am not good at following directions. Also, if you don't remember instructions well, I recommend taking Intro to Equipment multiple times. I had to look around to see how to do things as I am a visual learner, not an audio learner. The facility is tucked away in the corner and is not visible if you are in the parking lot. Fortunately I saw someone wearing athletic clothes and followed them. The facility is clean and bright. There are two individual restrooms. There is a main room with cubbies. The reformer room also had cubbies. The reformer room was slightly warm even with ceiling fans so I dressed lighter the second and third session. I enjoyed my experience, but could have benefitted from more intro classes. The classes were much different than my normal cardio and strength training classes at my gym. The pace was slower and it was a great way to relieve stress. I highly recommend Core Fitness for Pilates.

My arms and legs were shaking and my muscles were twitching. I had to take frequent breaks and I ended up losing the ball and band for most of the class. As Sara said maintaining the proper form was most important. Who knew all the small movements could work all your muscles. Although I enjoyed the class, I prefer a gym that offers more variety of cardio and strength training classes. I don't think this gym fits with what I am looking for, but I enjoyed the opportunity to try something new.

While I had taken several Pilates classes before, I had not used a Pilates reformer until first visiting Embody Pilates & Wellness in 2018 - I might have been the only one in my first class who had zero reformer experience. Instructing a class with a wide variety of experience can be challenging, but Kristy and Jodie do it with ease and seamlessly offer modifications to make each portion of the class accessible to anyone. She's always excited to see you and she is so encouraging during the workout. It will be the toughest workout but somehow she makes it not seem so bad. It helps that she is either doing the entire workout with you or demonstrating so you know exactly what to do. I can't sing her praises enough! Karen was extremely nice and was helpful by giving the few of us that arrived early the opportunity to get our nerves down and let us know what to expect. That one-on-one time with her was unexpected but very welcoming. She even brought in peppermint essential oil to help us with any potential motion sickness. The class had its moments where poses were a little difficult, but we encouraged one another and Karens support made a difference. There were poses that came effortlessly as well and overall it was a great experience. There was a group of friends there that enjoyed the experience and although the studio is not close by, I'll be inviting some friends to join me for the class in the near future.

When I arrived, I found a place that didn't feel like I was in the next Rambo movie. It was a place where a novice gun owner could get information or purchase weapons, ammo, or whatever they needed. A young woman and an older man were working in the store. Neither of them made me feel stupid for not knowing a lot about guns. It was a good experience, and I plan to return in the future.
