Initially I wanted to review the new Vernon Hills location, but as their Yelp site is not yet active, I'll start here. I've been to both barre and cycle classes at the Lake Forest location intermittently for about 2.5 years. Rebecca, the owner, and all the teachers and staff are incredibly welcoming and warm. I've found the other women taking classes to also be friendly -- TDM definitely creates community. I always have a great, albeit intense workout when attending classes. Each of the barre classes is different - music, routine, etc. However, you can expect four sets of abdominals, some planking, seat work, thighs, and arms/back in every class. My muscles work so hard that I end up shaking! Cycle classes are also unique - each instructor plans their ride and music for the class. The studio is professional, the changing room always very clean, and its easy to park (street parking) as well. The studio is very safe, so nothing to worry about when going early or leaving late! I recommend trying TDM!

This location has the best retail of any TDM studio I've been in! I had to run out of class but next time I will definitely pick a few things up. Tina, the owner, was an instructor at the Bucktown location in the city. Before we get to the the actual instruction, please know that she has the *best* playlists. Okay, okay... Tina has the best cadence as an instructor. I love her classes. TDM is a full body workout. Although the class is basically - warm up/arms/thighs/seatwork/abdominals/cooldown - full body training is sprinkled throughout the entire class. Each area is strengthened and lengthened. I was a longtime runner with knee issues. I had been to physical therapy to alleviate my knee issues but I never achieved the recovery that I needed to be successful until I started TDM. It is truly a challenging and rehabilitative workout. I have never seen results with any workout - yoga, pilates, running, strength training, etc - like I have with TDM. Such tiny movements - such big results. As a former dancer, the movement appeal to my dancer-nature. Flexibility and strength is the main focus, but your heart rate will be high (especially in Tina's classes). There is a focus on the breath as well and the studio strives to be a truly positive environment. I don't respond to people who tear me down - TDM builds you up.

They are ready to help you transform your life. The Dailey Method is the fastest way to a strong, lean, sculpted body. Combining the best of Pilates, yoga, and ballet barre training, the classes are an ever-evolving mix of movement that offer extreme benefits for body and mind. The classes are driven by fitness research and students' needs. They offer individualized attention in a group setting to give you the strength, discipline, and joy to find ultimate alignment. In addition, the studio offers Dailey Cycle, the bike-to-barre class that gives you more. Using The Dailey Method's signature focus on alignment and form, this class delivers a balanced, full body workout resulting in a fun, high-calorie burn. I had the opportunity and pleasure to attend several classes during the studio's opening week and was wowed by the beautiful studio, the professionalism of the instructors (they are also so sweet and so fun), and the changes I started to see in my body in such a short time. At TDM you will work muscles that you didn't know you had and be sore after the first few days/classes. However, if it doesn't hurt, you aren't working it enough! After a week and a half of classes, I feel great and can't wait to go back for more!

I prefer a lot of cardio when it comes to my workouts and whenever I try Dailey Method my mind starts to wander and then I realize I'm not even doing the move correctly...and there goes my workout. When my nanny called in sick today I found myself wondering what I would do with my 2 year old for 5 hours until his sister was ready to be picked up at school. Friends mentioned they were taking their 2 year olds to the Dailey Method while they did a class so I figured I'd give it another shot. If the workout wasn't any good at least my son would have fun for an hour playing with the other kids. I haven't left him on his own very often so admittedly I was a bit nervous about it, but figured this would be good prep for camp this summer. I was so impressed with the kids club. It's a small room, but had everything my son would want to keep him entertained for an hour: trains, a kitchen & (yes) a TV. Elizabeth was the caretaker in the room and she was very warm and the kids took to her instantly. In fact, when I went to pick up my son an hour later he didn't want to go home and was giving Elizabeth hugs. Sooo if you're looking for somewhere to workout with good children THIS is it. The class itself was fine. It was a Dailey Basics class so easier than most. Debbie, the instructor, played great music, had complete control of the class and did her best to make sure we were all doing the moves correctly. I did find my mind wandering a lot during the class & feel like I didn't actually get a workout today, but that's based on my own preferences & not the class itself. If you like bar classes you would likely be a fan of Debbie's class. I was excited to see that they offer spinning here. That's one class I'd definitely be interested in trying since it combines cardio with body sculpting. So perhaps I"ll be back for that...and for my little one to visit his new friend & toys in the kids room.

I gave it 4 stars only because I like a bit more direction in my Pilates class, and although Jill was amazing and sweet, I love when an instructor is kind and encouraging but also provides corrections. I am also a fan of music during my workout classes but if you like more peace and quiet, Jill's class will be up your alley. Despite those two minor things, I am still very interested in going back!

Since consistently taking classes, I feel stronger than I have in years. The method has given me back a level of mobility I thought was lost for good. The best part? I can now get down on the floor to play with my grandson and get back up with ease and without any aches. It's a freedom I didn't realize I was missing. This isn't just about fitness; it's about quality of life. I genuinely feel 10 to 15 years younger. The instructors are fantastic at providing modifications and ensuring proper form. If you're a woman over 50 wondering if this is for you, the answer is a resounding YES.

I still had a good experience at the class, but our instructor, despite being very encouraging (which I always appreciate!), didn't explain the names of the moves we were doing. It was also hard to hear her over the music. The space itself was too crowded. I get that they want to make money, as anyone would, but being in tabletop pose and having to kick out my leg was hard to do here, given how crowded the room was with everyone else trying to do the same. I also get that they want to find new customers, but the amount of texts they sent me in order to get me to sign up for full membership? It was a bit unnecessary. There's only one bathroom and the non-studio space here is very crowded indeed. They can't help that part, really, but it didn't help the experience.

Sarah and the other instructor (sorry forgot her name) was amazing and took the time before class to walk us through the breakdown of the class. They demonstrated all the equipment we were going to use and showed us modifications for the many injuries we have. Throughout the class Sarah was very attentive and corrected each of our posture and movements. We appreciated how much time she spent helping our group. The class itself was a perfect full body workout; cardio, abs, band work, glute strengthening. It was clear what body parts we were working and movements were long enough to give us a healthy burn. I love (Hate) the sliders exercises she included and i'll definitely be adding them to my repertoire. The studio itself is quite small; that being said I appreciate a clean and odorless studio. There's 1 bathroom, a small changing area and lockers you can borrow. They also have some merchandise you can browse through while waiting.

It also was populated but not crowded which was great (though I can't speak to other days/times). I had Angel as an instructor both times when they were subbing for someone else and I really enjoyed it! Angel has a simultaneously soothing and strong voice (in the best way for a yoga class) that is great for motivating students during class and I love their inspiring words and playlist that begin and end our classes.
