Shout out to our bartender/ server Heather! Outstanding worker! She was slammed and hustling her butt all night and still took time to explain the nuances of the 21 different beverages on tap so I would get one that I would like. She delivered our food in a timely manner and continually checked in on us to meet our needs. The food was delicious as well! We will be back for sure.

Stopped on a Friday night during lent at about 6 pm. They were busy, but we got seated in about 10 min. The ambiance was sports meets old style lighs typical new age sports bar. Stephanie N was our waitress, and she was just great. All the staff seemed to be on their toes and working hard. I ordered the fish and shrimp. It took a bit for our food, but they were busy. Sadly, some people think it's ok for their children to occupy a table of 4 while others wait for a table. Of course, the table of 4 children had to be seated right behind us, and of course, the parents were drinking, paying no attention to their kids, and the sad part none of it was the restaurants fault. Our food came and it was good quality and delicious. Everything that the restaurant was responsible for was just perfect. To parents, please have some respect for others.

Thank you, Brian! We've been living in the area for ~2 years and decided to try something new tonight. It was busy but there was room to park & room for two at the bar on a busy night = PLUS. We came for the beer, & left w/ the food. (Couple next to us recommended Brisket.) Keep it genuine, friendly, & delicious... Thx Brian & Barrel Junction.

I liked it. They are a typical American restaurant. The buns are very big on their sandwiches. The wings and pretzel were likely just frozen and warmed up but they were okay. Nothing was spectacular but nothing was awful either. The staff was nice. I will definitely go back.

Trivia and live music are sometimes available for entertainment. In the past few years, my husband and I have eaten at Wheelfish a few times. For our meals, the hostess and waitress promptly and politely served us. Here are my reviews for the foods: Pretzel bites - 4.5 stars - This appetizer was a large size. We really liked the flavor of the pretzels and the honey-mustard dip. We thought that the cheese dip was OK. Pulled-pork nachos - 5 stars - This appetizer of nachos was huge! Many tortilla chips were topped with gooey cheese, pulled pork, jalapeños, sour cream, and pico de gallo. Fried deviled eggs - 4 stars - The egg white was breaded and fried. It contained a yolk filling and was topped with a spicy jalapeño. We prefer traditional deviled eggs, but these ones tasted good. Mix-and-match soft tacos - 4.5 stars - The pulled-pork taco contained pulled pork and vegetable toppings that were very flavorful. For the brisket taco, I enjoyed the flavor of the brisket and toppings, but the juices made the tortilla soggy and caused it to fall apart. Shrimp tacos - 4.5 stars - These were on sale on a Thursday. The shrimp were breaded, and the toppings of napa slaw, mango salsa, and chipotle aioli tasted very good. Meat entrees - 4.5 stars - My husband liked the smoked chicken the most (5 stars), and he described it as being "delicious." We also ate ribs (4.5 stars), kielbasa (4 stars), brisket (5 stars), salmon (4 stars, needs more seasoning), and pulled pork (4.5 stars). Macaroni and cheese - 5 stars - My husband said that this macaroni was the cheesiest thing that he has ever eaten. He described it as "delicious." I ate some of the macaroni, and I agree that it was extremely cheesy. French fries - 5 stars - These fries were perfectly crispy and salty. Grilled vegetables - 4.5 stars - I wanted to make my meals more nutritious, so I chose a side of grilled vegetables, which are seasonal and included peppers, corn, squash, and zucchini. This mix of veggies had a very good flavor. Side salad - 4 stars - This salad contained a lettuce mix, some tomatoes, some pickled onions, and my choice of dressing. It was fresh but was slightly plain. Pork 'n beans - 3 stars - My husband ordered this side. He ate only a small amount of the beans and sauce, and he thought that they tasted just OK. For drinks, we had iced tea, diet Pepsi, and water. The waitresses brought refills.

In this case, a *giant* smoker is just outside the front door, and man oh man, is it loaded with yumminess --- ribs, chicken, brisket. (Faint!) The place, originally opening in the 1890's (!!), is a real throwback, despite their having to rebuild sometime ago after a bad flood. The current owners - with their families - are some serious hard workers, and the output is just terrific. One of the owners waited on us, a charming Pittsburgher (not sure if it was Chad or Nick) who has an infectious passion for both good beer and his fine food. I got the recommended oatmeal stout which I really enjoyed - smooth, nutty, flavorful. My husband enjoyed his wheat beer. Both of these from the fairly extensive draft list. The food is the real star, tho. Our foursome started with fried green tomatoes - a nice crunch with a good, lightly spicy wing-style sauce. AND ---- the favorite of all of us: smoked chicken wings. MOMMA. These are a signature item for good reason. Order a 1/2 dozen or dozen. They are on the medium side, plump and juicy, with a tasty dust. Perfectly cooked. Apparently they start smoking them in the morning! Dreamy! The owner brought us some fabulous sauces, along with homemade blue cheese dressing, for dipping. The highly-popular "Moonshine" bbq sauce was our fave, hands down. The House sauce was a bit plain but good. The 1/2 n 1/2 - with House sauce and (I think) Carolina BBQ sauce was good. Next time, I'll try their habanero bbq sauce - I think they call it "Hot Hooves." My friend & I split the pulled smoked chicken sammie with a side of really good, home made collard greens. The greens were quite good - not bitter at all - high praise from this Southern gal! The sandwich was great - with chunky bits of smoked chicken, but honestly - you could just eat those fab smoked wings! My husband enjoyed his brisket sandwich. I'm not a big red meat girl, so I can't speak to the flavor. My sister in law got a straaaaange experience -- the gigantic pretzel with 2 smoked meats (pork & chicken) accompanied by a side of Mac & cheese. She wanted to have leftovers, and boy did she get her wish! Yikes. Too weird for me. They have a small outdoor space at the back. We enjoyed the front section with the giant bar. There's also more seating in the back. They have special nights for their delicious food---- those fab wings are super cheap on Tuesday; cheaper meat platters on Wednesdays; & Saturdays are cheap tacos ---- the place was once a taco/Mexican restaurant, apparently. We will most definitely be back!!!

The bacon was mid and garlic sauce was ass. I asked for Pittsburgh Rare and got medium. It was still so juicy that I didn't even care. Very shocked there Cam did a build your own and got provolone, fried tomatoes, coleslaw and chimichurri. This was fucking insane. All around. The way the cheese wrapped around, the coleslaw being vinegary, the fry on the tomatoes and then that chimichurri.... Would absolutely destroy this again THE WINGS. FUCK YES. These are now my second favorite in Pittsburgh. ALSO easily the best smoked wings I've ever had as well. The rub on them is unbelievable. You'd expect super salty but not even close, the chicken isn't dried out and the size is solid. I'm always team flat but they have made me only want drums now The blue cheese said it's made in house. That was terrible and tasted like watered down Ken's. The hot garlic tasted like it was bought from Giant Eagle. That garlic parm though was un fucking real I will absolutely be returning for these wings and getting the chimichurri, garlic Parm and trying a barbecue sauce next time. Will grab a burger depending on how hungry I am. Huge fan of those, but wouldn't say go out of your way for that but if you're already there get the burger

The waiter was so nice, I didn't catch his name but rest assured all of the staff is so nice and kind! They are very informative and know what dishes are good and bad. Now for the part that is hardest to nail down, the restaurant ambiance. In the past couple of years, I have ordered food from JJ Panda several times. For all orders, the restaurant promptly cooked my foods, and the time between my orders and deliveries was 24-30 minutes on weekend days. Overall, I think that this restaurant serves typical Americanized Chinese foods. Here are my reviews for the foods from all orders: Cream Cheese Wonton - 4.5 stars - Six wontons had a crispy dumpling and a tasty cheese filling. Chicken on a Stick - 4.5 stars - This appetizer consisted of four American-style kabobs that were different than we had expected. Chunks of meat were very tender and juicy and were on a stick with chunks of green peppers and onions. Chashao Bao - 4 stars - Three BBQ pork buns consisted of fluffy dough that was filled with a good amount of tasty BBQ pork. General Tso's Chicken - 3 stars - I had requested a spiciness of medium, but it actually tasted mild. The meat seemed to be mostly dark and slightly tough. On the side were white rice that was steamed perfectly and an egg roll that was large, had a crispy exterior, and a flavorful filling. Chicken with Broccoli - 4.5 stars - The meat was juicy, the broccoli was fresh, and the sauce was flavorful. On the side were fried rice, which my husband liked but said that he would prefer to not contain peas and carrots, and an egg roll. Chicken Lo Mein - 4 stars - My husband ate this entree. He described it as "good." Beef Lo Mein - 4 stars - My husband ate this entree and said that it was good. Vegetable Roll - 4.5 stars - This vegetable roll had a crispy outer wrapper and tasty shredded vegetables inside. Shrimp Egg Roll - 4 stars - This egg roll had a crispy outer wrapper and lots of fresh vegetables and some shrimp inside. Vegetable Soup - 4.5 stars - This soup contained mushrooms, celery, broccoli, peas, and green peppers. These vegetables were fresh and healthy. Stir Fried Vegetable Ramen - 3.5 stars - I thought that I had ordered the Vegetables Ramen Soup that was right next to this other entree in the menu. Oops! This entree contained no broth. It contained many noodles and some fresh peas, carrots, broccoli, and other vegetables. Vegetable Ramen Soup - 3 stars - I finally ordered what I intended to order. I felt surprised that the noodles were not typical ramen noodles. The noodles looked more like Italian pasta noodles. Furthermore, the broth had a very mild flavor and could use more seasoning. Mixed Vegetables - 4 stars - The vegetables were very fresh, were cooked very well, and had a flavorful sauce. Specific vegetables included broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, corn, pea shoots, I think bok choy and water chestnuts. Broccoli with Garlic Sauce - 4 stars - This entree was supposed to be "Medium hot," but it tasted mild to me. Sweet and Sour Shrimp - 3.5 stars - Several large shrimps had a crispy outer breading. Sauce was on the side. Chicken fried rice - 4 stars - My husband ate this entree, and he said that he liked it. He appreciated that the cook left out the peas and carrots as requested. Orange chicken - 3 stars - The chicken meat was tender, and the sauce tasted good, but the breading was very soggy. The breading either fell off on its own, or I pulled it off to avoid eating it. Sesame balls - 4 stars - These sesame balls contained a red-bean paste that tasted very good. My husband and I thought that these sesame balls were crispier than other restaurants' sesame balls.
