We visited Barrel Oak with friends in late December and had a wonderful experience. Since we've been in Switzerland, we've consumed more fondue and raclette than you can imagine, and we were craving some good ole burgers. Barrel Oak delivered! Our group ordered burgers, the fish and chips, and pork belly tacos. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious. If we're to visit again, we'd order the sauce on the side for the tacos, but otherwise would reorder the same dishes with glee. I wish we took pics, but everything was devoured too quickly. This was the first place I came while in Montreux for dinner after a long day of traveling. I got a cider and fish & chips and sat at the bar. The staff were very friendly. The fish & chips weren't bad. Great vibes though, good place to hang out and chill. They have darts and played fun music. Would come back here for a good time. read more

This was just down the street from our hotel, and we wanted something simple. We had delicious chicken club sandwiches, which came with a little mound of dressed lettuce & fries. It was very good and actually reasonably priced. There was also a lovely view of the alps and the lake. The only real downside was thay it was a bit loud. read more

Coming from Boston, we were happy to see an Irish pub located so close to our hotel so we had to give it a try. We happened to arrive while France and England were playing in a Rugby match. It was great to see locals cheering on their team. The drinks and food were reasonably priced for Montreux . The staff was friendly. It was larger than expected from the outside and they have a huge fireplace plus outdoor seating. read more

The service was terrible! I was with a group and everyone else received their food, When my food didn't arrive I finally got the waitress's attention and when she checked on it they discovered it was delivered to the wrong table! Mistakes happen; however almost 20 minutes later still no food and no eye contact with waiter. Everyone was completely done when they brought me my food at which point I just said I didn't want it since everyone else was ready to leave!! They offered no apology. The rest of the groups food was just ok but nothing special. The bar atmosphere is good if you are looking for a sports bar. read more

Pretty good quick bite tonight. Being the first to review I'll be a little more descriptive... It's a pub, not so small as one would think from the outside. Inside there are many TVs showing soccer games and a good crowd that left after games finished. They looked like travelers from many different countries. From the bar you can see: Extensive beer selection, you won't be disappointed! Kilkenny perfectly poured, ordered 2! The classic burger was a bit too done for my medium-well taste but actual flavor was better, the egg adds up to the size. I was really satisfied... Wife ordered fish and chips. It was good too. We just came from London, it's hard to compare. But she said she would order again. Grilled salmon was delicious and the vegetables sides were delicious. Potato/leak soup also surprisingly tasty.
