I have never had to wait for a machine or give mine up after 30 minutes, and they have lots of TVs and machines with TVs on them, so your TV fix is set. The best thing about this location is their morning cycling classes with Lynn, who is a WONDERFUL cycling instructor. Let's face it, some cycling instructors suck. Lynn creates well-planned cycling classes and sets them to good, upbeat music that almost makes you forget what a crazy workout you're getting. Plus, the classes are free with membership so you can go all you want. So if you want a really unpretentious place to work out without feeling out of place amidst the triathletes and body builders, the Wildwood YMCA is for you.

Yes, pizza and cake are included, and you can stay and swim as long as you'd like, but 45 minutes is just not enough time. Trying to get all the kids to sit down, eat, and do cake in that short window is stressful--especially when all they want to do is get in the pool they can see right in front of them. On the positive side, the lifeguards are very attentive. The moment a whistle blows, 10 of them are immediately on the scene, which is very reassuring as a parent. They did miss when my son briefly went under, but luckily he was surrounded by kids and I was right there, so he was okay. A couple of areas I wish they'd improve: more shaded/umbrella seating, and some kind of rubberized surface on the steps in the littles area, because they're very slippery.

The lazy river is great and the lap lanes in the indoor pool are nice (but few), except when they run the wave pool every 20 minutes... Then it's a fight for your life to get out before being bashed by people riding the waves in the provided pool tubes. Seriously. ;) For corporate events and family gatherings, the meeting room spaces are bright and well maintained and very affordable to rent. Melissa in the Parks & Recs department is a joy to work with.
