After spending a long time searching for a good stretcher maker, I finally found Barronart through my gallery owner's suggestion. For me , to be able to talk with the owner is reassuring. It shows he cares about his work. The well packaged stretchers arrived in the time frame he promised. My order is the ProBar collapsible strainer/ Dovetail key assembly. It came with two sheets of detailed pictorial instructions . It is a very well thought out system, each bar has rounded edges for easy handling. After gently tapping in all the Dovetails, I recheck the finished frame and it was square. I'm very pleased with Barronart's work. I will be ordering more of these stretchers in the future. read more

This was my first order with Barronarts and I was impressed. Jeff was super responsive and took the time to answer my questions on the phone and then a few times over email. He worked with me to find a delivery date that worked with my schedule and when the stretchers arrived they were perfectly packed. The stretchers themselves are beautifully made with a great attention to detail (rounded over edges of the cross braces and counter sunk, pre-drilled holes for screws). I bought these primed panels last November and when I first inspected them, they looked great. I was using up a supply of Simon Liu panels and didn't start painting on the Barron panels until a month ago. I use acrylic paint, sometimes with thin, washy areas. When paint was applied to the panels, a striated pattern became clearly visible. I don't know if this is a sanding or a priming issue, but either way, since it's past the 30 day guarantee period, Jeffrey won't address it. Will not be doing business here again. read more
