Mary (the Ting in the Springer & Ting) did some minor tweaking - walling off a doorway, shifting another - to achieve full functionality within a very tight space. The second - we were having a colonial home built, and wanted a more open floor plan on the first floor, and more equal-sized bedrooms on the 2nd floor. Mary redid the builder's layout completely, placing bathroom and laundry in the interior so that more light would be available for the breakfast area at the corner of the house. The builder (who did not normally like working with architects) was impressed, as the final design was very "buildable" and sensible (from his perspective). We couldn't be happier.

From the moment he rang our doorbell he showed zero interest in helping us design our new home. Which is why I really don't understand why he came. Then he said he would email me a proposal, but I never even gave him my email address and when I asked him if he had it, he said yes I have it somewhere. Which further proved he had no interest in doing our project and of course I never received an email. Very unprofessional. Since then we have found a much better architect and are very pleased with his professionalism.
