Dr. Pinchoff saved my daugher from having surgery on her blocked tear duct when she was just 6 months old. He was my second opinion Dr. after the first Dr. recommended operating and sticking a fine needle into the duct. Dr. Pinchoff fixed the problem in one second by applying pressure to the duct and a quick motion to unblock it. It was amazing!! Her red, swollen pussy eye was healed. I only wished I had seen him sooner. I would recommend him to anyone needing a pediatric Opthamologist. He is the BEST!!!! read more

They would have gotten a 5 star review but unfortunately my child's chart was forgotten and we were in the waiting room for an hour after dilation .. the technician who screened him was awesome and has so much patience with children . Just like the other review, "This doctor's policy is clearly just about billing insurance carriers." There are two doctors in this location. We couldn't get an appointment on the day when my daughter got pink eye because she's a new patient. We got an appointment to see doctor Pinchoff one week later. He asked us to come see him immediately if it happened again; however, when it happened again, he was not in that day. We saw the other doctor in the office. This doctor didn't do anything and asked us to wait until next Monday to come back to see Dr. Pinchoff. He said waiting another two days would not hurt her vision! read more

Parking is awful. It is so limited that you end up having to valet park. The waiting time in the office has always been over 45 minutes. The doctor is ok. Sometimes he seems like he gets bothered if a "child" is not quiet and still. Kids can get fidgety sometimes. It is a pediatric office, isn't it? Lastly, the woman in the front LICKS her finger to get each and every form we fill out. Disgusting!! Can you PLEASE get one of those little liquid holder things they sell just for that? Anyone who did not give this doctor the top review obviously doesn't understand anything about eye care. I am 21 and have been going to Dr. Pinchoff since I was 3 months old, when I had my first eye surgery. I was born with a congenital cataract and am now blind in one eye as a result. Pinchoff has taken me through every stage of my life with this blindness, everything from cosmetic surgery to fix my lazy eye all the way up to learning to drive. I've had countless eye problems through the years and he always has the answer. This man knows what he's doing. Period. read more

Worst experience ever. The doctor was rude. Sat in the waiting room for an hour even though I was on time to my appointment. When the receptionist finally asked the doctor whether he was goign to see my THREE kids soon... he responded "eventually". No respect for his patients. Will never go back. Just had a really disappointing conversation with the Office Manager, Lisa. Needed to schedule an emergency visit as my daughter had an eye infection from her contact lenses and she told me I had to go back to where I got the lenses (at GNC), even after I stressed the seriousness of the situation and that the Urgent Care Center we took her to said she need to see her ophthalmologist right away. When I asked to speak to the doctor, she quite loudly told me she was the Office Manager and as such SHE would speak with the doctor and get back to me. She did call back to say that ALTHOUGH I should go back to where I got the contact lenses, the doctor would see me since it's an emergency. I'm taking my business elsewhere since they are clearly not interested in patient care here. The doctor might be good, but what good is that if his staff is rude and incompetent? read more

I was very unhappy with Dr. Pinchoff's pre-patient policy. My daughter is six months old and has a small red mark on her eyelid. I spoke to the pediatrician and he said its probably just some capillaries exposed on the outside of her eyelid - but it might be a good idea to see an eye doctor to make sure. This is on the skin not on the actual eyelid. The nurse told me that they had to dialate my child's eyes BEFORE the doctor would even see her. I advised that I was not comfortable with putting any chemicals in my daughters eyes until he saw my daughter first to determine if the skin marking was something that needed solution in her eyes first. The office called me back and the Doctor refused to see my child unless the solution was put in her eye first - without even seeing her to see what the problem was. He claimed it would not be "ethical" My opinion is that it would not be ethical to his pocket - and that a doctor should at least visually examine a patient before determining what the next step will be. This doctor's policy is clearly just about billing insurance carriers. read more

Yes, your child's eyes will be dilated before seeing the Dr- however these are top notch professionals and it is a necessary thing to properly evaluate the health of your child eye- it is not big deal at all- my 2.5 year old son didnt notice and was playing entire time after the drops and had zero discomfort. Dr Pinchoff is a man of few words but is extremely knowledgeable and reassuring. If you're looking for a trustworthy opinion on your child's eye problem, he is the one to see. read more

I first took my daughter to Dr Pinchoff when she was 18 months old, she is now nearly 6. I felt compelled to write a review as well based on my initial experience and the 1 star review since there is some overlap. I too was really fearful of having anything put in my child's eyes prior to some discussion with the doctor. I believe this is commonly referred to as INFORMED CONSENT which is a patient's right. In this case, the parent's right. I was given that courtesy, spoke with Dr Pinchoff about my daughter's "condition" and he clearly explained why the dilation was a necessary part of the exam. It may have helped that I was IN the office with my child as opposed to being on the phone. The exam was well explained before and during with Dr Pinchoff explaining what it was that he was looking for as a possible explanation for her condition. We were well informed, followed-up in subsequent exam and then told to come back in 3 years for a routine eye-exam. My ONLY gripe: the office. The staff are brusque are not pleasant at all; the place is a factory and for the number of children under 6yrs that they see, they could do far better making the waiting room child-safe and friendly, particularly if they are going to stack visits the way they do. I am not surprised that the reviewer may have been met with the take-it OR leave-it attitude in her phone call. read more

I had a good experience yesterday. I was a little hesitant after reading the reviews, but I trust my child's pediatrician who recommended Dr. Pinchoff. Maybe it's because my son is 2.5 and not a newborn, that I didn't have the same horrible experience. I'm actually very picky about doctors, particularly when it comes to my child, and I was happy leaving the office. They took me so fast, I wasn't even done filling out the paperwork. The technician who runs the first set of eye tests, was very child friendly, and my son warmed right up to her. This helped a lot because he can be shy, but he was willing to participate because she knew how to take care of someone his age. The drops weren't a surprise to me. I get them when I go to my eye doctor, so I know what to expect and how they feel. My son actually handled them better than I do. Dr. Pinchoff was very gentle. He was much friendlier than the reviews are letting on. My main concern, going in, was the suggestion of surgery to correct my son's condition (it's a hereditary condition that I also have. The ped's eye doc I went to as a kid wanted to operate right away, and my parents switched doctors. I never had the operation and my eyes are fine). He said that would be absolute last option and not until he was older and we see if it was affecting his life and only after everything else was exhausted. That's what made me feel very comfortable.
