The staff here was SO friendly and inviting. I was super intimidate to come to this class for the first time but they made me felt so welcomed! They even left me this super sweet and encouraging note on my treadmill! I will definitely be coming back here! I recommend to everyone!

Fantastic location with great staff as holds true with all Barry's! It's a bigger studio and well-maintained. You enter the building and you have to go up the stairs (or elevator if legs day was too much the day before) to get to the actual studio. There are tons of lockers and men's and women's locker rooms. The fuel bar is to your left and the lobby has tons of space and retail. The red room is big and an actual rectangle shape, sometimes studios are L-shaped, making it hard for some newcomers to see everything that is going on. I usually frequent the NoHo, PAS, and Chelsea locations to see my favorite instructors, but this studio is closest to me so I may be coming here more often! I took a class with Michael and I think he's great for newcomers as he actually takes first-timers in the studio to do a run-through of the workout which is super helpful as the class is very fast-paced. After class, I picked up my smoothie, and I didn't even realize, but the smoothie was about 3/4 full. The employee noticed this however and offered to add more almond milk in to fill the smoothie. Small thing but I was very appreciative!

I have done Barry's Bootcamp 3 times now, and every time, the work out is legit good. I already wrote a review for my experience in San Diego, so this review covers my workouts at the UES location in NYC. First this place is nice and big. You walk upstairs to get in. The bathrooms were big with showers and lockers with built in locks. There is also free towel service at this location which is great if you want to shower after your workout. The showers and bathrooms have soap and shampoo too. There are lockers with built in locks outside the bathroom areas also. The front desk personnel were very nice and helpful. They were polite and energetic. It was nice talking to them before getting inside to the work out area. I went to Arms and Abs day on Monday. It was outstanding!! I started on the treadmill and after a quick 2 or 3 warm up the instructor had us doing sprints and some hard runs for the next 8 minutes. I was winded and my heart rate was up (I had a heart rate monitor). The first set of floor exercises targeted the abs and triceps. Lots of bench dips and burpees, in addition to some other exercises which I had not done before. We also used weights to do skull crushers, and triceps kick backs. It was hard. We then got back on the treadmill for another 10 minute session. Again pretty hard sprints and hills. The next floor exercise was again 10 minutes and focused on the biceps and abs. We used bands and weights, and again my biceps were burning. The last treadmill exercises was for five minutes and was not as intense. Still got my heart going but I knew the end was near. The same goes for the last 5 minutes on the floor. Hard but not as bad as the first two sessions. We then stretched out for 5 minutes and the hour was up. I loved my work out and felt great. This location is so awesome that the next class is free!! So even though I was tired from the previous day, I decided to do the butt and legs day the next day. I also read that this is suppose to be the hardest class. I have to say it was hard but not as bad as I was expecting. Same format as Monday 10 mintues of tread mill followed by 10 minutes of floor two times and the five minutes of treadmill and 5 minutes of floor to finish it off. Another great work out. The instructor really focused on the butt and upper legs. I was working muscles in a different way than I usually do at the gym. Enjoyed this class and instructor again!! Barry's is a great workout. I have done so many classes and this is by far the hardest and most intense. The instructors are pushing you the whole time and some how have time to look and correct people's form. Totally worth coming here for a workout. It is hard for me to attend other classes after coming to Barry's!! I can't wait to come back to this location.

Best Barry's location! Changing rooms are a bit smaller but the trainers at this location work you harder and I enjoy it more.

As a parishioner of St. Michael's, I often would hear the music at the 10:30 am mass and I wonder what it was. Time later, I saw an ad for F45 and I was like, Why not? I live close by. I followed the sign and I felt I was going to a Speakeasy. I am glad a good samaritan was right behind me and guided me through the basement area and long corridor. I just left their Tokyo class. I truly dont know why they call it Tokyo and kudos to the coaches - Jackie and Hernan! AMAZING. At other F45s I've been to, people trudge in late and at different times. It can be distracting and disruptive. (2) Awesome instruction. I go here almost everyday - highly recommend for anyone that's looking to burn fat, build muscle, and do it efficiently.

I am so lucky to have found this place. If your serious about any ANY physical/mental performance…read moregoal. Cedric is THE top. I have watched in awe as my body now: - recovers while doing other physical movements -catches its breath while running - does what my mind tells it to far beyond what I thought I could. (Have literally pushed 5 more reps, by hyper focusing on the muscle even though I couldn't feel it and relaxing all else. I watched myself amazed) Cedric Cosiac has been my physical and mental trainer here for the last six months. He has trained not only my body but my mind, to such an extent that I can accomplish vastly more physically than I ever thought possible for myself. I am writing this because I have just stepped off a high intensity dance shoot involving everything from ballet to acrobatics, parkour, martial arts, hip hop, to a few things we just invented. I was the only person on camera. We were supposed to have two days to film but we only had one and had to race against the clock as the sun was our light source. This means I get little to no breaks in between takes where I am required to dance full out in huge bursts. I was required to stay in muscle fatigue for 12 hours. But I PULLED IT OFF WITH ENERGY TO SPARE ! Why ? Cedric. The active recovery and breath training allowed me to maintain energy and recover while moving. The endurance training we do allowed my muscles to last longer and perform better. (I told him I had to do a high intensity dance piece on film months ago and he designed a routine to match exactly) His overall attention to my mental state during our training allowed me to remain completely calm and slow my heart rate, focus, and not waste energy. Everyone was in awe of what I was able to do. I genuinely wouldn't have been able to pull it off had it now been for our training I used EVERYTHING he taught me and it's just the beginning. He has shown me what I am capable of. I do not know of a greater gift than that.

I go only when I am so short on time that I am forced to go close to my place. Issues? Management is powerless to change a thing, and corporate ignores all Communication. This gym was wonderful (with one exception) before renovation; then they ruined it. In a location that used to, and should, have thrice as many, 73d shockingly installed FIVE--total FIVE--ellipticals, and even fewer stair mills. No variety in cardio: use treadmill instead of Central Park (boring), ride a bike (only THREE), climb stairs (almost always taken), or fight to get one of the four functioning ellipticals that are, by the way, all the same variety. To all those considering this gym, I say Buyer Beware!

I scanned in using my phone, grabbed a towel,…read moreand began walking around the gym to familiarize myself with the equipment before heading to the locker room. While doing so, another member approached me and made inappropriate comments, saying, "I won't tell if you won't tell." she repeated this a few time She went on to imply that people often walk in and take items without permission and suggested I should go to a gym closer to my home. I explained that I live in Brooklyn and do not have a gym in my area. She then insisted on walking me to the locker room. A few minutes later, this same member entered the locker room and questioned whether I intended to work out there. This interaction left me feeling uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. Shortly after, a male employee approached me regarding a complaint about people "laughing and screaming." I wasn't aware that speaking or expressing joy at the gym was against the rules, and I strongly suspect the complaint was made by the same member who confronted me earlier. This entire experience has left me feeling unfairly targeted and profiled. As someone who chose NYC Sports Club for its reputation and accessibility, this incident was both disheartening and unacceptable. Everyone deserves to feel welcome and respected in a gym environment, and my experience today fell far short of those expectations.

A lot of the Life Time locations in NYC are fairly small in size but so is everything else in town like restaurants, hotels, and retails stores. Just avoid it between 5pm-7pm because the locker rooms are small and yes they completely fill up sometimes. Theres three floors: 1st floor is check-in, Pickleball courts (w/ beer & wine) on tap, second floor is cardio, a few studios and the LifeCafe. Third floor is weights, machines, locker rooms and a few other studios. The gym is very clean overall. People mind their own business, they get their workout in and get out.
