Didn't even get to use their services because they were that bad with scheduling. The way they run their business is terrible. We were scheduled for a Saturday, but had to call the Friday before to find out what time. We were informed that it would be around 1-3 PM because the crew wants to do another job before ours. We didn't like that, but there was nothing we could do. We were told the crew would call us an hour before they arrive. We eventually got a call and were told they can't come and want to reschedule for Monday. That's not an option because we do not currently live at the residence and we work during the week. This is why we scheduled a Saturday and we even left the entire day open for them because they didn't know when exactly they would be coming. Then some sketchy guy with an unlisted number called us and said he was referred to us by John (no idea who that is). He said to reschedule the job with Barrys and this guy named Kevin would come and do the job for much cheaper today. He said definitely don't cancel the appointment - just reschedule. It was super weird, but we were desperate. In the end, no one showed up. Still don't know who Kevin or John are, but considering we only contacted one company about the floors, we are guessing someone from Barrys contacted them. I have been coming to Barry's My Carpet for years because my mom has always used him. Over the many years I have found the prices to be good, great customer service , conveniently located and great variety. These are all wonderful aspects of a business but what I love most about this place is that you feel so welcomed from the moment you walk in, to the moment you leave. It feels more like a place you want to stop by weekly. Barry so kindly and generously donated some carpet squares to my sons school so that they are able to sit comfortably while learning outside during these compromised Covid times. The carpeting lasted me a good 20 years till I decided the color was so outdated, back to Barrys and once again the entire house was redone. AMAZING SERVICE!! I went to Barrys My Carpet with an idea of what I wanted and a tight deadline. We went, walked around, looked at samples, found what we liked and Barry essentially told us "No. If you have dogs and the room gets a lot of foot traffic it will get dirty quickly. This carpet in a darker color will hold up much better." We were hesitant, I don't know Barry from a hole in the wall and this is a big purchase that can't be returned. The more we looked at the sample the more it grew on us and finally after much deliberation, we said OK. The carpet was installed that same day (fairly unusual) and I must admit, he was right, it looks great!! Its soft, durable, and beautiful! Communication from the first phone call to arrival was superb! Family owned business ( where I like my money to go) that's been around for a long time. The 3 employees know there stuff. They were very quick to answer our questions and narrow down selection for quicker decision to be made. Definitely what I, A new carpet buyer needed at the time. There estimate with installation wasn't exact but in my experience, no contractor is. The job itself took much longer then we thought. We figured a few hours these guys should be in and out but it was basically a full days work. Quality and quantity was great. We have a few tacks we feel on the edging but maybe that's normal. Barry installed floating floor in my home basement over 70 year old chipped tile floor but failed to inform me that after the installation my floors would squeak and give the sensation of walking on air bubbles. The problem he explained was that my basement floors were uneven and he didn't think I would want to have that corrected since I was on a budget. Therefore, he stated that in order to get the sale he omitted that information and failed to offer me the option to cancel the job or pay more to correct the problem. As a result, after the installation was completed I complained about his unsatisfactory work. To fix the problem I was told I would now have to pay an additional $3,000 to remove the floor and level the basement with thin-set to receive a proper installation. I felt cheated but I agreed to pay an additional $1000 to correct the problem that was not explained to me prior to installation. He has returned several of my phone calls but refused to accept the mistake his business has made and continues to ask for $3k in addition to the $5700 already paid to him in cash. Omission of information and failure to explain the options that could be implemented to receive a great floor installation is bad business. I am waiting for my floors to be fixed and plan to contact BBB and pursue legal counsel. read more

My brother has developed allergies to dust mites so we needed to remove the carpets in our entire home and redo the hard wood flooring. Barry quoted me a great price that included the rug removal. They cut and wrapped the rug for easy disposal and secured any loose wires before sanding which I thought was great.The workers were polite, efficient and communicative. Upon removal of one of the carpets we found what appeared to be some kind of glue on the wood. For a few hundred dollars more they worked an extra 4 hours to restore the wood flooring. It came out great. We had an extra coat of polyurethane applied (1 sealant 3 poly) and the floors look marvelous. I recommend them 100% read more

First, I'd like to clarify that I did not use Barry's for carpet installation. I only had them remove carpet. They were very easy to book and were able to come a couple days after calling, which was great. At the time of the removal I thought everything had gone fine. However, upon closer inspection later on it showed that there were still many many staples left and nails sticking out of boards, especially in areas that required a little extra attention like the corners and stairs. Since they didn't seem to have the necessary attention to detail needed to refinish floors, I decided not use them for the rest of the job. read more

Barry is very friendly and joked around quite a bit which was refreshing as other stores we visited barely spared time to give us basic details. Nope. Based on positive reviews here, I called Barry's My Carpet to ask about stretching some carpet that is rippled in 2 rooms of my home. Spoke to a nice woman who took the message and said Barry would call me about the job. That was on a Monday. Having not heard back by Thursday, I called again. Same nice woman said : "he hasn't called you back yet?" and assured me she would remind him to do so, which he did, the following day, four days after my initial call. He suggested I send photos of the rooms by email. I did so. That was 2 weeks ago. I've heard nothing from Barry or anyone else at this business since. Really? This is a way to interact with potential customers? (Well, in my case, formerly potential customers. I will get someone to do the stretching who is interested in doing business with me.)
