Personally, just not my preference in style of workout (I prefer just going to the gym on my own), but I went as a part of a group and there is no denying it is an absolutely incredible HIIT workout. Facilities were clean, modern, and quite premium (even the products available in the bathrooms/showers). The room the course is in is lit up with red lights, music is loud, energetic, and fun but not deafening, and the instructor is clear, full of energy, kind, and while firm they do not single you out or force you to do anything at all which was greatly appreciated (sometimes you just need a quick break on your own) If you enjoy class style workouts, would definitely recommend. read more

This is the single best fitness experience I have ever had, ever. The staff - Laura, Laney, Trystan and the whole front desk team - not only demonstrate extraordinary competence, but set a powerfully welcoming and inclusive tone that's frankly unmatched and creates a special sense of community. I was totally intimidated the first time I came in- four months later- not only has my Vo2 max skyrocketed, but I have greater definition in my abs, a stronger body, and an overall higher fitness level and confidence. The instructors are dope- from Lydia who helped me survive my first class and gave thoughtful recs to Rain, Johnny, Justin, and Phil- who have kept pushing me and everyone ar Barry's. Each has their own strength and style, but the baseline standard is always top notch. Loretta and the faculties team keep the space amazingly spotless, welcoming, and inclusive perfect working condition (lights, showers, products, filtered water, towels etc)! The smoothies are delicious! I'm a member of equinox, I love Solidcore, but the entire Barry's experience puts this place - and members experience - on a whole different level. I believed the branding about an intense and impactful workout, but I thought the talk of inclusion and kindness was just marketing. The DuPont team has proved me wrong! Had my first Barry's session this evening at the DuPont location and absolutely loved it. While it was a rude awakening on how poor my cardio is, I worked up quite the set and felt determined to keep pushing through the sprints and weight sets. Nazinga was a very motivating, enthusiastic instructor. She had great transitions between the strength sets and made sure to play the perfect music to keep us running on the treads. Definitely looking forward to coming back. They also have a great deal for 3 or 6 class packages for first timers. read more

Looking to die via a workout, look no further than Barry's! It's similar to Orangetheory except it's only 2 stations and the treadmill requires a run. The one thing I don't love about Barry's is that they don't offer settings for power walkers. It can be a bit intimidating if you aren't a runner. Go to Nazinga's class as she's my favorite!! She's a great motivator and her workouts BURN. I'm just not a fan because of the fast-paced and advanced nature of the classes. read more

Barry's in DuPont has some excellent trainers instructing the classes. I love how each class pushes you to your limits and then some. My endurance has improved tremendously since doing these classes. I am also able to do more reps and sets with strength training and have incorporated sprints into my runs at the gym! These classes are a surefire way to burn serious calories - I lose about 500 calories a class! Just be careful and know your body's limits. Modifications are ok and if you need a breather, take it! My favorite instructors are Nazinga and Mariel! read more

It's hard and sweaty. I also hate running and treadmills, but I knew this beforehand. I went through ClassPass as a last minute replacement because the 305 Fitness dance class down the street cancelled. Would I go back? No. Well, maybe for a shake from the juice bar. Barry's is HIIT on steroids. I workout regularly and thought I was fit until I took a class here. It's challenging, but in a good way. The classes are intense. When you signup, you can choose to start on the treadmill or the floor. Each weekday is a different workout (i.e., full body, legs, arms, etc.). I took class on "Abs + Ass" day (Thursday) and I woke up the next day thinking that I had a stomachache... but it was really my abs on fire from the workout from the evening before! My coach was Mark and his playlist was boppin' and his instructions were clear throughout the class. The staff is friendly, helpful, and attentive. They explain where everything is and what to do if it's your first time there. They also have a smoothie bar and sell their own branded apparel. There are plentiful lockers and well-stocked bathrooms (hair ties, lotion, deodorant, face wash, feminine products, etc.). Although the classes are pricey (and slightly reduced with the purchase of a package), I'd definitely come to class more if the location was more convenient. Hopefully they open in the 'burbs of VA sometime soon! read more

Finally had my first Barry's class after considering it for years! Note there is not a lot of parking around as it's a quite busy area. Plan ahead to arrive early. If it's your first time you'll need to sign up for an account and sign a waiver which can take 5 to 10 minutes depending on the availability of the staff. The studios are luxury and very clean. They offer a ton of amenities like towels, hair ties, and even have their own smoothie bar. With my first class, it was a bit hard to follow. The music was so loud I could barely hear the instructors voice. I tried looking around but everyone takes it at their own (modifications, slower, etc). The instructor does not demonstrate. It was very fast paced but fun! I felt a little lost but maybe there are other more descriptive classes. read more

My friend referred me to Barry's for a free class and we had a great time. The workout I got was intense and I really felt like I got a great workout after just 50 minutes. The locker rooms are stocked with nice things, like good-smelling lotion and other toiletries, plastic bags where you can put your dirty clothes in after, tampons, etc. You can pre-order a smoothie that will be ready after your workout. At $9, the smoothies are priced a pretty penny so I've only tried one so far: the green latifah. It was SO good and miles above what most smoothie chains can offer. The main criticisms I have, though, have me not really wanting to come back frequently: -The cost (averaging around $30/class) is too pricey for me, but I get why it's priced this way as a boutique gym. The nice part is you do not need a membership or subscription. You can pay as you go. I received a discounted offer after taking the free class which was nice. - I'm not sure if this is intentional, but the trainers don't correct your form. They just shout commands at you. The weight exercises are simple enough, but I would feel slightly better if they at least observed to see if you were practicing good form. However, I do like how trained demonstrates what you're supposed to do after each block because I would probably not remember what to do. -The fitness room is really dark and a bit too cramped. Why are the treadmills so small? -I was surprised they didn't offer a tour of the studio and was just supposed to figure out where everything was. I came here on a Wednesday night with a friend on a promotion. Barry's Bootcamp is located in Dupont close to the Krispy Kreme (temptation to test your willpower :P) I loved the beautiful artwork on the wall beside the drink counter. It was so convenient that you can preorder your drink to be ready for you as soon as class is finished. I ordered the Matcha Made in Heaven :) It was so good, I would come back here for a class just for the drink! It comes with matcha, spinach, banana, almond butter, vanilla, whey protein and almond milk. Lockers are available, free to use right by the drink counter. The class itself was intense, the instructor was great.... instructions throughout the class was loud and clear. I had never been to a class where half the class switches between equipment throughout the class.... it was a unique experience. We went from floor exercises to treadmill exercises in 15 minute intervals. I felt stronger after the class, I would definitely recommend Barry's Bootcamp for anyone who wants to challenge themselves :) Parking in Dupont is a gamble, I would recommend taking an Uber if you can so you are not late to class! read more

This is one of my favorite gyms I've ever been to and that says a lot considering I've been working out for 20 years and have lived around the world. The staff is so incredibly supportive and helpful. They'll even walk you to your very own station. The best way I can describe a Barry's class is imagine being in a night club where everyone is working on gains. The red room in DC is the best place to be! If you're driving to this place, there's lots of street parking but a lot of people take public trans because it's easier to get here. Make sure you bring a change of clothes so you can take advantage of the amazing shower facilities. They even have a dyson for you! read more

Usually I really enjoy Barry's and have a consistently good experience, but this location has been off for some reason. Microphone/speaker system is broken - the sound comes through very muffled, so it's really hard to understand the instructor (I had Jorge C.). The sets were oddly paced making it hard to get enough reps in to consistently work a muscle group. Usually I can't wait for a class to end because I'm drenched in sweat and out of breath, but this time didn't feel challenging. Mats were not placed at benches at the start of class. Class ended after 45 mins instead of 50. Disappointing for such an expensive class. I hope this was just a rare bad experience. read more

I tried DC's Barry's Bootcamp today. It was a great experience! The class is basically HIIT, with a mix of cardio and weights in separate segments (e.g. cardio first, then weights, cardio, and weights again). Stephen was my instructor today. He did well keeping both the cardio and weight groups on track simultaneously. There was a cool moment during the class, too. At one point (perhaps a mix-up on my part?) I was the only runner on the treadmills. Instantly two classmates -- complete strangers -- came up and joined at the treadmills next to me. One of the guys, Nick, commented, "No one likes to run alone." I was impressed by the sense of community. Great class. read more

What fun! I have been in a slump with my workouts lately, and Barry's Bootcamp was exactly the pick me up I needed. I am a long distance runner and do strength training once or twice a week, but the high energy of this class was still rejuvenating. I took the full body workout with Chelsea and enjoyed the circuits focusing on core and upper body with jogs and sprints. The dim red lighting and the music on full blast set the mood. You can push hard, grunting and huffing and puffing and no one will hear you. There are plenty of weights so that you can be the master of your DOMS. Being my first class, I couldn't catch everything Chelsea was saying, but I looked to my neighbors for guidance. My favorite part was the high tech treadmill! The instructor will shout out, sprint at 10, 11 or 12 and if you just press those buttons, the treadmills automatically go to that speed so that you have full control of the speed at all times. I really dread running on the treadmill, but the energy of fellow runners sprinting by my side made it fun. If you run races regularly, it is similar to the adrenaline rush you get at the start where everyone is cramped together! While you are here, indulge in one of those smoothies. You can pre-order and it will be ready right when class gets out. The Green Latifa was so yummy. As for amenities, there are cold towels with lemon (I think) scent infused you can grab on the way out. There are plenty of showers with great smelling toiletries and bonus points for the high powered hair dryers! I'll be adding BB to my workouts at least once a month and shake the winter blues away! read more

I have always wanted to try Barry's Bootcamp and finally was able to do so recently! I admit I was a little nervous going in but am glad I was able to take a class and try something different. The location itself is gigantic. The studio basically has an entire smoothie bar and a little shop where they sell all sorts of fitness apparel. You can order a smoothie and have it ready for you after class. Ultimately I didn't do this but it seems super popular. It seemed like this class flew by which I really liked. I'm a pretty active runner and I liked that a lot of the class' focus was on running. The treadmills are a little different than your standard gym treadmill so it takes some getting used to but it wasn't anything too daunting. The only reason I am docking off a star is purely for the price. I booked through ClassPass but the classes here are absurdly expensive as is pretty much everything inside. The smoothies are around $8-$10. Five classes here costs $165. Ten classes here will cost you $300. That is a price way too steep for me and probably why I wouldn't be a regular here, but I might pop in every now and then. read more

Love! Love! Love! I am writing this review as I am walking out of my first class. Talk about runner's high! I was terrified of coming into my first class and from the moment I walked in the door I felt a sigh of relief! The guy who checked me in at the front desk was so welcoming and asked if it was my first time. He then walked me through all the need to know information prior to the start of class. I was in Mark R.'s class and he was awesome!!! So encouraging and made us push to the limit. It was my first time so I struggled to keep up with the rest, but I just focused on challenging myself at my level. That is the key! I see it's easy to get caught up in what the person next to you is doing because the treadmills are right next to each other. Just focus on you and push to your own limits!!! At the end of class I was drenched, feeling good, and even got a few pointers from Mark on my form. I am excited to come back for my next workout. Barry's Bootcamp is just what I needed to get out of the rut of my fitness routine! One thing worth mentioning is the lighting in the room is dark with a red light. It was hard for my eyes to adjust to the lighting at first. I also did not get to try one of their fancy $9 smoothies, but I will try one after my next class! read more

I've never been much of a group fitness gal, and I haven't loved cardio in years. My routine has been weightlifting and kickboxing for a while now--so by all accounts, I shouldn't love Barry's. But I do! I tried a class through ClassPass my first time. While it was nice to go for free, I don't recommend that, as it renders you ineligible for the newcomer class pack deal you can buy on the Barry's website. If you're trying for the first time, go that route--it's a good deal. The class itself is a fast-paced HIIT class in the red room, a dim workout room with red lights. They're definitely flattering when you're staring at yourself in the mirror in front of the treadmills, wondering if the look in your eyes is determination or fear that your legs will give out during incline sprints (oh, is that just me? Oops). The classes are focused on different muscle groups each day. The first class I went to was lower body, so we didn't use incline on the treadmills, just alternating speeds. When I went to my second, upper body focused class, that's when I was introduced to the pain of incline. You alternate between treads and weights every round. If you book online, you can pick which one you start on--most people start with treadmill. Even though I lift pretty regularly, I still go for the lighter weights during the "floor" rounds. You'll get tired fast, and since these are my cardio for the week, I'm more concerned with calorie burn than muscle build at Barry's. And I usually average 400-550 calories at each class... and am ALWAYS sore after in muscle areas that (I guess) I'm not working as much in my usual lifting routine. Some things to note: - I found the staff at this location to be really friendly. When I came for my first class, I told them it was my first time and they explained everything really well. The instructors are super high energy, their music is good, and they're not going to annoy you or call you out if you choose to modify a move or do a slower pace on the treadmill - I haven't been to other locations, but at this one, people seem to come in duos or groups. It's very social, and a lot of groups will be talking to each other before classes and at the smoothie bar. And I will say that I haven't seen much body type diversity--everyone seems really fit already, which can be intimidating at first. But I'm not sure if that's a function of the city or of Barry's. I really like these classes and wish they were a liiiittle bit cheaper so I could justify doing them more often (Barry's, if you're listening, wanna hit me with a discount code? :D), but I always enjoy them when I do treat myself to another class. If you're looking for something to shake up your usual routine, try one of these out! read more

I've been wanting to try out Barry's every since it came to DC but I just wasn't impressed with the experience. When you check in I think they should tell you what number you are in case you forget, I was only told once. Another time I asked and was told "oh we moved you to #x", well that's exactly why the front desk should tell people their number at check in. If I had never asked I wouldn't have known. The wifi doesn't work. One instructor of the 3 I took classes with asked is anyone new and do you have any injuries. Maybe he's used to giving that speech at other studios because at Barry's there was no point. I never saw once an instructor giving form feedback like at OTF or F45. It's often not clear how to do the next exercise because the demo could be done in the middle of the workout and you don't see it. At OTF and F45 when they know you are new, you get more individualized attention. There's no orientation for this class in a dark room. I loved the concept of having a smoothie waiting for you after a workout so I ordered the matcha with vegan protein. I tasted no matcha or almond butter or banana as the vegan protein powder completely overwhelmed the entire taste. I threw it away after a few sips. Does no one taste test the brands they choose? It should be a flavorless protein powder so I can taste the key flavor of the smoothie. Never saw anyone walk on the treadmill. OTF is able to give cues during class for those who need to walk due to an injury or whatever. The weights are far from where you lift so you only get one set of weights for a 12 minute set of various exercises. At OTF the weights are right in front of you so if you realize you need to go down one weight for a particular body part you can immediately do that without losing any time. I didn't see any body diversity in the people who attended class. But every class I saw a couple anorexic women. Also they allow men to not wear shirts during the workout, sorry but looking at a hairy chest during class is not my cup of tea. One bathroom is too small and you have to jump over the toilet to close the door. There are plenty of lockers and Oribe soap. read more

One of the highlights of my trip to DC! I spent a weekend here visiting my best friend, and it was actually my first time in DC as an adult. The weekend was fun and full of good food and drinks (even some world series celebrations), but of course as an avid fitness junkie, I was most looking forward to my first Barry's DC experience. It's always a treat to get to go to barrys locations around the states and even the world! Our instructor was absolutely amazing and paid attention to everyone's form throughout. While it wasn't as high up on the difficulty scale compared to the classes taught by my favorite NYC instructors, it was still a great and high quality workout. The studio is fantastic, well equipped and full of the nicest employees. Whenever I come back to visit, I will be sure to stop by for a class or two! read more

This is my favorite Barry's that I've been to. The space is huge! The red room is the same as all the ones with plenty of treadmills (Woodways) and floor benches. I am always exhausted after doing one of their classes and this was no exception. It's part running on a treadmill and part floor exercises with weights. The instructors are always great and super motivating - they take the time to know your names and motivate you during the class. The instructions are clear, but the music is great but pretty loud and they sometimes turn the lights off. However, they have ear plugs if you want them. Will definitely be back to sweat it out! I was disappointed that my treadmill only went up to 12.5mph as the ones at other Barry's have gone much higher. I was informed after class that there's a way to unlock the treadmills so there's no speed limit - but they didn't know how. read more

I live in the Palo Alto area and have not been to the Barry's in Palo Alto yet as I'm a loyal Orangtheory customer and a former Equinox member. I tried Barry's DC while on a weekend trip. The studio is really nice. I think Soul Cycle, Barry's, and Equinox are all owned by the same company so they all have that really nice modern, city chic kind of feel with eucalyptus towels to boot. I'd give it a five star review if based on the atmosphere. The workout is kind of chaotic. I do Orangetheory which is the same basic premise of floor split with treadmill for an hour. However, the music is so loud and the room so dark and the instructor was talking to the treads and the floor simultaneously so it just felt like chaos. I'd say the workout is equally hard at both Orangetheory and at Barry's and it just depends on how much you push yourself. Orangetheory is always an hour whereas this Barry's class was 50 minutes. The treads at Barry's are Woodways which I know most people like but I'm not a fan of them. They seem a little slower to respond with elevation and speed changes than the Orangetheory treads and the deck is less cushioned/reflexive. It's definitely worth taking a Barry's class here and there, but I don't think I would become a regular. read more

Barry's is the only place where you can find me running over 2 miles on a given day. Cardio/ running is not my strength, and I appreciate that Barry's workout structure provides me with the motivation I need to run. I haven't found the floor exercises as strenuous as some of my other bootcamp classes. I also have a difficult time knowing how much weight to pick up during the transitions because I don't know what type of exercise we will do with them. Would prefer if they call out weight selections. I love the luxury feel of this place. Love the smoothie counters and lounge chairs in spacious studio. Love the thoughtful design of study of having USB chargers inside each locker as well as pre installed locks for each locker. Complimentary water, ear plugs (necessary for class!), hair ties, they think of it all. Towels are sometimes even heated for the showers. They even have cool down towels when you exit the class. Bath products are nice and they even have facial cream cleansers! Also appreciate that they are on classpass. read more

Great overall workout. Highly motivating and no matter how fit you are, will always be a challenge. A few disclaimers however (I) the format heavily favors the young. Very little warm up and sprinting at up to 12 mph is not so easy on this older guy's joints. So pace yourself as needed; and (ii) it is a better cardio vs strength workout. While half your time is spent on the floor, using heavy weights is nearly impossible given the high number of reps and the fact that you are likely already 1/2 gassed from the treadmill. read more

I walked into Barry's incredibly intimidated. It seemed more intense than I could handle and I wasn't sure how I would survive a class or if I would be accepted/welcomed by others at the studio. My worries were all in my head. All of the exercises can be modified but you will be encouraged to push yourself (it is boot camp after all). The instructors are so kind and motivating and really want each person in class to succeed. Fellow participants are never afraid to say hi and exchange high fives at this studio. The locker room is always pristine and has oribe products for that post class clean. You can even order a smoothie to be picked up after class. Stephen and Christa are can't miss instructors. Their classes push you to improve but they both are caring humans who make you want to do them proud. Plus both their playlists are amazing which can really push you through a tough class. I was in town visiting and tried out numerous different boutique fitness classes, and this is the one I was the most scared about. I read through the reviews, and Molly's review about how much she hates running is what persuaded me to go be clause I also HATE running. As in seriously despise it and will do anything to avoid it. That said, I've always wanted to try this type of bootcamp workout, so I figured why not do it among strangers versus people in my hometown! The two front desk staff were extremely kind and greeted me and said I had nothing to worry about. What's even more amazing is that they have a smoothie and juice recovery bar, so they will make your beverage of choice while you are in class and have it ready for you when you are done! My son has a nut and egg allergy, but I wanted to bring him back a drink, and they showed me the ingredients list (which are very high quality) and made it in allergy-free blenders. Win! Going into the class, I had no idea what to expect. The instructor was super fit and adorable, so I knew I would do anything she told me to.I should have let her know I was new because I literally did not know how to use the treadmill! That said, I picked up on it quickly and was speed walking in no time. Because I do not like running (read HATE HATE HATE running), I took it slow. I ran, jogged, and sprinted when she told me to, but not at the speed she told me to. I was thankful she was not one of those instructors who comes around and changes your speed or calls you out. At the end of the class, after 20ish minutes of running, I barely realized I was running because so much was going on and it was very fast paced. Then we moved to the floor, and I brought two different weights (8 lb and 10 lb) because I had no idea where to start. I was super confident in floor work because of my strong barre background, so the arms and abs were fun for me, and I could see how a double mat class would be more up my alley, but I took this class to do something different and challenge myself, and I definitely left feeling successful. The studio was clean, new, beautiful, and welcoming, and the bathrooms use Oribe hand soap! I loved the fast pace class because it did not give me a chance to get bored. I would definitely recommend this class to people who are looking for something new, especially those who have done a lot of barre and are intimidated by doing anything else because the floor work was made for you! read more

I wasn't impressed at all. I don't think this studio is for newbies. You're expected to know where everything is (without a brief orientation) in a dimly lit room. My first day there i notified the gentleman at the reception desk that it was my first time, expecting to get a short orientation of the class. Instead I scrambled around in the dark looking for a floor mat. I didn't know that there were two different areas for hand weights so, I chose a weight that was heavier than what i was used to because I didn't see any lighter weights on the rack I was at. The instructor was not very attentive. I saw one guy on the floor flaring and uncoordinated and i didn't see her correct him at all. At one point i didn't hear the floor instructions and i wasn't sure what to do with the bands but she never corrected my form. There were only 3 ppl on the floor. Our class ended abruptly and we were rushed out without cooling down/stretching because the instructor lost track of time and another class was starting soon. The lock on the lockers are not that complicated if you've used them before but i was not given instructions on how to use them. I had to figure it out on my on. Ive used this type of locker before but the instructions were on the inside of the door. Thank God i figured it out on my own. This is a nice boutique gym with lots of amenities e.g. towels, blowdryers, deodorant, shampoo and feminine products but I wish I had purchased one class instead of 10. This is not a place i want to return. My co worker suggested Barry's bootcamp. I like Elevate Interval fitness but I chose Barry's Bootcamp because I'm still rehabbing after a meniscectomy and they offered the double floor. I rated them a two because there should always be a brief orientation of the class...especially since the room is dim. I felt confused and I wasted time looking for equipment during the class. I would've given it a 5 Star for the cleanliness and amenities but overall i wasn't impressed. There's nothing special about the class. I like Elevate interval fitness and Orange theory fitness better. They have treadmills and rowing machines and EIF has bikes as well. P.S. Got dragged out to Barry's Bootcamp by a friend last night and I'm so glad I didn't chicken out! I didn't know what I was getting myself into, but felt extremely intimidated as I walked in. Everyone seemed so in shape and knew exactly what they were doing. I hate cardio so the thought of being on the treadmill terrifies me but this is the exact reason why this class so was freaking great because it pushes you to your limit and takes you out of your comfort zone. The class: It was hard to see at first cause of the red lights in the room but you'll get used to it. I started on the treadmill and went at my own pace at first just to get a feel of it. The instructor will give you speed and incline recommendations - from slight jog to a full on sprint. I was never comfortable sprinting on a treadmill but the overall atmosphere helped me with being able to get to that level. The class I signed up for focused on legs and butt, so all the floor exercises focused on squats + lunges. 3 rounds on the treadmill and 3 rounds on the floor exercises - literally dripping in sweat at the end of this. Best end to the class is when they give you the coldest towel ever to cool down. Locker Rooms: CLEAN! Really appreciate the dove deodorant sprays - keeps the training room smelling fresh! They have showers and changing rooms available along with lockers and other small amenities. Overall, it was a great experience. I definitely will be back. They have in house smoothies - on the pricier side, but greatly deserved after an intense workout. read more

Having taken a few classes at the Miami location while on vacations, I knew what to expect coming into the new DC Barry's located in Dupont. The workout is simple and effective. Towels are complimentary. I feel that they have arrived about 3 years late to DC as far as niche H.I.T. workouts - they're not really offering anything unique, sounds like that place Sweatbox is comparable in offerings, and of course the more established Orange Theory. Treadmills book up before the floor spots I've noticed, however for me it is ideal to start on the floor because at least there's some dynamic warmup incorporated (i.e., squats, lunges) before jumping in full on. One group starts on the floor with weights and then the other is on the treadmill while coach leads you through various intervals (incline increases, speed increases, reductions, etc.). In a crowded class, it can be hard to see where the coach but nothing is too complex that you can't look around and figure it out. Also, if you're someone who doesn't like the metrics aspect of Orange Theory and Flywheel for instance, Barry's is nice because you don't have to feel like you're constantly competing with yourself or trying to increase your own stats. You will likely feel motivated by the people around you though - good energy in the room. Barry's is expensive - check out their apparel and the juice bar. But you get what you pay for, I have one of their shirts and the quality and feel are superb and it hasn't faded through numerous washes. I do like their branding and in this sense they are superior to Orange Theory, Flywheel imo. read more

Wish I could give a 4.5... truly a full body work out that incorporates both toning and cardio in a healthy balance. Fuel bar is a great motivation to get through class with the promise of a yummy shake! Amazing first time deals AND on class pass. otherwise a little pricey, however I still think it's a fabulous and fun addition to my routine and one that's worth the investment. For those not into cardio, there's a double floor option where you don't even touch the treadmill! But the team also encourages non-runners and gives modifications. Cult following for sure, but don't let the flashy name and appearance fool you - the people who work here and gym goers alike are super motivating, down to earth, and make you smile through the sweat and pain! I love Barry's and take when I'm splitting time between NYC/FL/DC but this location has become my favorite! It's just such a positive experience and a great work out every single time. You'll never be disappointed ! Also I love the manager, Eric (spelling?) I'm not sure if he's newer because I don't recall meeting him before crazy COVID but he's truly SO helpful, keeps everything running extremely smooth , very clean and comfortable. It just seems like a well oiled machine with him more so now than ever. read more

Eh.. I tried a class in Boston a week before I took this DC class and honestly huge difference in the entire experience. From front desk and smoothie bar to cleanliness of locker room and from coach and workout itself. I don't think I would go back to this one. There wasn't much focus on form and the class felt really rushed and not with the quality I experienced in the previous location. read more

For the price point the staff were very unhelpful; recommend VIDA / Sweatbox or Elevate a better local alternative
