This is literally my favorite place to workout! The community and staff is lovely... friendly, great personalities and helpful. The atmosphere is everything. Dark lights. Loud music. Good ppl and amazing vibes. It's like you are working out at a club. They have great facilities, showers, bathrooms, water refill and phone chargers in the free lockers. Coach G and the trainers are LIVE. And they make everyone feel welcome and beautiful! The classes are tough, always different And challenging but they'll give modifications if you need. We do exercises I've never seen and really keep ya moving throughout class. It's also cool that each trainer has a slightly different style and music preference. I will continue to workout in this incredible and inclusive studio!

I came here this morning hoping to start my journey yet again and begin those hard core sweat classes. I had read about this workout concept on their website and came totally prepared to start kicking it. Unfortunately for me I had arrived a little bit after their start time 8:30am, and when I got in there the class was already full. There was definitely some sweat going on this morning and everyone was moving their body to the beat workout style! I had envisioned this gym like any other gym with workout machines and bench presses. But its not like that. They do have weights but the workouts are all instructor lead and they incorporate cool music to keep it moving. There was a reason why the class was so full and the place is popular. Obviously this concept works I could have stayed and waited for the next class to start at 10:30 but that was a little late for me to be working out. I like to get my workout started and finished first thing in the morning. I'm going to give it another shot tomorrow morning and plan on arriving early for this!

I started with this gym a little over a year ago and can't believe how Coach G and his team continue to motivate every.damn.day all while encouraging inclusivity and giving back to the community. The workout set up on the whole is consistent but varied just enough that you never feel like you can quite "master" the sweat (in a good way!) Special out to Sarah and Eliza for always playing the best music and staying upbeat the whole time!

Absolutely amazing total body workout. I'm feeling it days later!! The workout room is super cool ... when class starts it's dark with neon lights! Nobody can see you struggling! Lol The studio is perfect size with cute inspiration sprinkled all around. The women's dressing room is super comfortable! I took my first class with Will and he really made me sweat!! Im a firm believer that music makes a workout and this class gave me everything I needed! The team was very helpful and knowledgeable about what Sweat DC can offer... I find it nice they do group fitness as well as personal training sessions. I found coach G to be very nice and personable with clients ...I'm told they have a juice area opening soon! It will be amazing after a workout like this one!

After hearing so many good reviews about SWEAT DC, I finally tried them out and I was not disappointed. I signed up for a Lower Body & Core class through Class Pass and really enjoyed it. The class was engaging, fun, and definitely made me sweat. The music was great and the instructor was attentive, encouraging, and helpful throughout the entirety of the class. I appreciated the blacklight and neon equipment as well as the overall atmosphere of the studio. There were encouraging messages and quotes from other participants and a welcome sign for new joiners! I'll definitely be back to try out other classes!

I was actually…read morerushed to a hospital because they thought I was having a heart attack, given the pains I was feeling in my chest. The hospital ran its own tests and, luckily, it was not a heart attack. In that moment, I knew I needed to make changes in my life. During the time I had experienced the chest pains, I was studying for the Certified Public Accounting (CPA) exams and working at an accounting firm. My work days ran really late, which is probably similar to many people in the CD Fit class. I also maintained a horrible diet, consisting of fast food and greasy Haitian food, and did minimal exercise. The amount of mental and physical exhaustion that I was experiencing at this time greatly contributed to my blood pressure being high. I then decided that my health had to be priority if I wanted to get the fullness of life, so I decided to leave that firm and continue my life in the DMV. A friend told me of the CD Fit class since they had been doing CD Fit for a while, and they shared with me the class link and told me about their experience with it so I tried out the free period membership pass. I literally almost passed out my first day in CD Fit. In fact, I was told to lay down and put my legs up to get blood to my upper body. Nevertheless, I didn't give up. Clarance, who is the owner and trainer of CD Fit really pushed the class members to fight for their health. Certain exercises seemed unusual but were doable. The women in the class out did me most of the time but as I got stronger I noticed that I did better. I continued to come after the first day and gave it my all again, although I felt like passing out. I didn't want to be embarrassed again so I kept the passing out part to myself and recovered in my car. My endurance was at an all-time high and my body striations were more visible than anytime before. I had lost 30 pounds - from 189lbs to 159lbs and my blood pressure was much better at 128/73. These results are due to the CD Fit training which helps with the physical build and informing participants about eating better through healthy, lean meals. Its an all in one fitness strategy that has gotten me closer to my health goals.

I have been coached by professional trainers for the majority of that time, including D1 and Olympic coaches. At this point, they are friends. The workouts are programmed in a way that keeps me pushing myself while letting me scale back when needed. The coaching staff is always there to ensure form is solid or to offer an alternative if my body isn't 100% there that morning. Having worked with many strength coaches over the last 15 years, I am confident in saying that your well-being and safety are their top concern. This is coming from a former springboard and platform diving coach, whose first concern always had to be safety. On the member side, or team, as I like to think of them, I cannot say enough positive things. If I am out unexpectedly, people reach out to make sure I am okay. Everyone is there to see everyone get better, which brings incredible accountability. As someone who is not a morning person by any measure, I get myself out of bed for the 7:15 class willingly. 7:15 vs. the world. This has been a wonderful, impactful year with Ambitious. No matter what shape you are in, who you will be entrusting your body to is very important. I can say with full confidence that every single one of the what? three bad reviews? Of Sweatbox  should be cast aside because they are irrelevant since none of them talk about the actual sweat method and what it does to your body. Firstly, if you are worried if fat shaming/ageism exists here. The answer is a firm NO. I am older, I am overweight , and I was  welcomed with open arms, made a part of the family immediately, and that has not changed since the first class. I went to one OrangeTheory location a year or so back and was full on fat-and-age shamed and that made my self esteem spiral down into dark abyss for a very long time. Because words hurt, because I am already so vulnerable and frightened to cross the threshold of the gym, I need support, not otherwise. SweatBox is all welcoming, all inclusive type of place. Yes, they are located inside an exact copy of the Globo Gym from Dodgeball, (I got jokes) but just walk to the back of the first floor, to the Sweatbox counter, as far as I understand, gym and them are two separate entities. I purchased a 7-day, $34.00 unlimited trial pass online, came 30 minutes early for the instruction session (important to come early, instructors won't say no to you if you show up 5 minutes prior to class, but ultimately you are shorthanding yourself on the instruction part - don't you want to know as much as you can about bike set up, and components of training? And remember that instructors have other student s  to take care of prior to class) I began my training on Tuesday, September 3rd, 2019 and I made sure to come every day, dragging my self in sometimes, even if my body screamed to go get nachos instead. The instructors I've experienced during the trial week were: Alexx G Shawn M Kevin D Ashley D I loved all the instructors, Alexx is all tough love, just as described in his bio, but I love his light show and music choices. Kevin has an amazing aura and energy and makes you feel included. Then comes Ashley, wow. I don't know if she somehow hypnotizes the class, but you get in the zone, stop thinking of outside world, and all you focus on is her voice, her example poses, and her corrections, nothing else. At the end of the class, when you finally come to, you realize that you worked out for a full hour and  never looked at the clock once! Shawn is a rare soul. I have my collection of special, big hearted people, the list is short, but Shawn is on it. First of all the energy during his classes is through the roof, he is so charismatic, you WANT to do good to show him your appreciation. But my experience with him is also more personal. When I felt embarrassed, questioned myself, felt weak, cried like a baby after second class, Shawn in the gentlest of ways supported me, was there for me, helped me get past those hurdles and I cannot be more thankful. He always has words of encouragement, listens with attention, he is present. What an amazing human being. To sum up - 15 lbs. down (results will vary of course) and I signed up for an unlimited monthly. They got me good.

Combined with the music and the trainer giving you encouragement, spinning can be a really good cardio workout. It almost feels competitive with all the numbers and colors on the TV screens too. However, I don't understand the hype with $20-40 spin classes when I can do the same workout at the gym and push myself just as hard. I suppose it's worth it if you need that extra push, but I can't really afford $20-40 per class when i can get a membership at the gym for $30 a month. This was more of a hybrid spin/core class that utilizes TRX trainers, so there's that. And they do provide you with a heart rate monitor strap that gauges how hard you're working and calculate what intensity you should be at based on your endurance. The class itself was a 1:1 that introduced everyone to how a real class would go. We learned the basic movements on the TRX trainers and then were taught how to use the bikes. But it felt really rushed. The trainer was speaking so fast, I couldn't even really understand half of what he was saying. All in all, i got a good workout in though and I enjoyed the cold scented towel at the end.
