I have to admit that I'm a bit biased regarding this doc as I am likely still alive today because…read moreof him and my primary care physician. He has managed my CHF and performed the catherization and stent placements after I suffered an MI 21 months ago. Clearly, since I'm here to write this review, he did the right things. In my case I was fairly impressed with our first encounter. I had actually stopped by his office a couple of days prior to my first appointment to pick up those forms all docs make new patients fill out and was standing at the reception desk when he came out for something. I must have looked pretty bad at that point as he took one look at me, ask why I was there and when I said I was just there to pick up some forms he was like "I don't think so." Next thing I knew I was in an exam room hooked up to an EKG and after that in the hospital. I would hope most docs were that competent but alas, I know that to not be true. After a 30 year career in EMS and 20 some years of dealing with diabetes, suffice to say I have had a LOT of dealings with doctors over the years. Thankfully this is one of the good ones. He is fairly direct and to the point but still manages a friendly air, and if you do not understand something or ask a question he will take whatever time is needed to answer your question and do so without falling into the trap of talking down to his patients and do so without giving you the impression that he would rather be doing almost anything else but answering said questions. And perhaps most importantly, I have never gotten the impression that he was just trying to get out of the room and on to the next patient in the medical assembly line, as can be the case in some practices. I have found his office staff to be pleasant and helpful and easy to deal with when it comes to scheduling appointments and honest about when there will be delays. If I had to come up with a negative I would have to say that a couple of times there have been rather long waits in his office but I would have to say that is the exception rather than the rule as it has happened only twice since I became a patient of his. Most of the time I'm in a room within about 10 or 15 minutes of an appointment time. I have also had a couple of tests (an echocardigram and venous doppler) done in his office and on both occasion I found the technicians to be courteous, accommodating and competent. Clearly, if anyone is in need of the services of a cardiologist in the South Bergen/Passaic County area, I would highly recommend Dr. Szwed.

Wonderful thing to have a doctor who answers all my questions and takes the time to explain his thinking. He is the first Doctor I have ever had that concentrated on wellness of the mind and body. Truly cares about me as a patient and as an individual. Staff, Amazing. Caring,warm ,friendly , and very considerate. New manager Nicole very professional , made all feel great.This is best team of medical staff I have been around in a long time.I would highly recommend Dr. Szwed to everyone and anyone. I ignored it as our business is done. Yesterday, Feb 27th 2023, Lily CALLS my home and asks if i was the person that wrote the review! WOW. Either the office has nothing better to do or they REALLY, REALLY want this review down. I explained how once again i have never received anything from my insurance about this visit and how paying the whole bill upfront , with the excuse that it was a co pay because my deductible hadn't been met was not acceptable to me. This lady, went around and around, trying confuse me( imagine if i was elderly) and said she was calling me ( after she already had said she wanted to know if I was the reviewer) because she HAD A CREDIT FOR ME. ??????????????????? WHAT? A credit? Now, when was the last time anyone got a call from a doctor saying they had a credit for you, especially when you are no longer their patient?? Meantime, i have never received anything from my insurance company about this office visit, which happened at the end of the summer of 2021! Imagine going to a doctors visit inAug/ Sept 2021 and getting a call in February of 2023 about a credit from OVERCHARGE from a year and a half later. Now this call was at 1:46 pm and it ended after a not so pleasant exchange in me telling Lily to mail me my supposed credit. At, 4pm i get another message on Yelp from Lily asking to call the office to further discuss this. *********** update******* I also called my insurance today, and explained EVERYTHING going on, they told me the claim was filed much later and the explanation of benefits would not have the date of the claim but only the date of the of my visit. In fact Aetna told me they had no claim for 2021 when i actually went there, and they said it was "weird" how they couldn't see a claim for 2021 but it showed up now. They also told me they had no way to see my $188 payment but a $150 dollar payout was made. The agent once again said, there should have been no upfront payment, a claim should have been made, gone through the system, and then any remainder billed out to me. Clearly something was massively done incorrectly or wouldn't be talking about this a year and a half later. I also find out that the Lily i was speaking to yesterday and asked me about my review and messaged me twice about it on here is related to Dr. Mahdi. When you think this soap opera couldn't get better.

The front desk quite the opposite, after yesterdays encounter and today's I have decided to leave. They called me 6 days ago to remind me of my appointment, great, appreciate that, but then they go "did you get blood work done?",I haven't seen her in months due to the covid. So how can i go get blood work, and then they tell me only labcorp is doing blood work, i look at 5 different locations, none had any times for me to get my blood done, before my appointment. Receptionist basically said it is my fault?! She goes would you like to reschedule? um yeah, why would i go just to say hi. I then ask at this point i still prefer doing Webex, said "cant happen" because "I" am cancelling the appointment. I just hung up, can't deal with stupidity. Called again today to make sure they cancelled the appointment. Asked to send blood work (i knew that wasn't going to happen) The doctors seem great, front desk is quite horrible and lynhdurst office, is 10xs worse with their receptionists.
