We moved from North Carolina to Austin and we have been living here for 4 years. Our experience has been wonderful. The staff has been responsive and any maintenance issue that we had was promptly addressed. The good things about living at Barton's Creek Landing: Location: Close the greenbelt, close to Trader Joe's, close to downtown. This place is within walking (albeit a long walk) to Taco Deli. Can't beat the location. Staff: Very friendly, attentive, and caring. During the COVID-19 pandemic, they were willing to work with us about staying a little longer in case our new home was not ready due to shelter-in-place order. Amenities: The pool area is very popular, and has a hot tub. Very clean and great for the summer. Remodeled gym with diverse equipment and yoga class on Mondays. Clubhouse where you can rent it out for a large gathering. The not so great part of Barton Creek Landing: Parking: There is limited parking. If you have a second car you may find your parking parking by the leasing office or on the road at the end of the workday. If you have guests they may not find parking during the day. It is mildly inconvenient but if you plan ahead it is not so bad. Construction: Sometimes the City of Austin has to work on the frontage road and this can impact the residents. There has been instances where traffic was blocked and water was shut off. This is a city issue and out of the control of BCL but it happens a few times a year and it is a result of Austin's explosive growth. Major festivals/events: BCL happens to be located near the center of the SXSW, ACL, and Trail of Lights events. During these times you may find a lot of guests stay and be louder than usual. This also impacts traffic so you may also see some congestion that backs up from Loop 1. The pros surely outweigh the cons. BCL has been a great place to live, especially for a newbie to Austin to get acquainted with what the city has to offer. read more

I have loved living at BCL for the past two years for many reasons! I plan on re-signing in the fall because of all of the perks. For starters, the management team is one of the best! They are always attentive to any needs or concerns I may have. Sidney, the manager, is super friendly and helpful, whether I e-mail or see her in the front office. Other complexes that I have lived in do not have a team that cares as much as BCL's. Maintenance always addresses my requests in a timely and efficient manner. Jeff on the maintenance team is great and professional! Another amazing perk is the LOCATION, you really can't beat it. The complex is literally minutes from downtown, Zilker, Barton Creek Mall, Sunset Valley... the list goes on and on. That being said, the community is tucked away off of MoPac, giving a peaceful living experience. The greenbelt views are unbeatable -- you'd never guess that you were in the busy heart of Austin! The complex itself is beautiful - the common areas are always clean, the plants/greenery are well-kept, and the units are updated. There is currently a new paint job being installed on the exterior of the buildings, and it looks amazing so far! I suggest BCL to all of my friends that are looking for somewhere to live in Austin that's affordable, in a great location, and safe. Moved to Austin in 2016 and loved Barton Creek Landing that I have never left, just signing my latest lease renewal for my 7th year!! Chelsea and Sidney are always welcoming and accommodating to all residents, planning monthly brunches and activities throughout the year. The pool is beautiful and often the hotspot amongst my friend group. Assigned parking spots per unit, reserved spots and permit parking within the gates, with guest parking at the leasing office and along Bartons Bluff Lane. The gym has recently updated equipment, a well groomed dog park, onsite maintenance, and even direct trail access to the greenbelt!! I've never had an issue with staff or my unit and can't imagine myself leaving anytime soon! read more

Well this is not too bad place - nice locating, apartment and pool arya. But... 1. Childhood is prohibited. Fee for chalk drawing. All toys prohibited in the pool - even palm size silicon toys designed for bath. Nice thing like mermaid fins too. 2. You have to pay for all repair - even for toilet clogging and light bulb changing. And wait around 1 week. 3. No access to green belt. Theoretically you may do this - but totally unsafe. A big of rock on your way, covered by leaves and a lot of snakes live there - i did it ones, and then use entrance on spyglass. 4. Office doesn't solve your problems. You have to come and repeat and again and after that they may do something. 5. Parking is terrible. If you have a two cars be ready to parks by the road. read more

I moved in during the pandemic, so understandably my experience was a bit more through all email and phone calls. I love the complex, the location and the staff. The maintenance team is extremely quick and respectful before entering the apartment with safety protocol. I requested Assistance twice (For small things) and they were there within an hour to deliver what was needed. Chelsea and Sidney are super quick to respond to my million emails of questions when moving in as well. The staff are extremely careful with the safety and cleanliness of community amenities as well. I'm probably one of the longest term residents that live here (it's been almost 8 years). I have no complaints. Granted, there have been times I've been tempted to look at other places that offer 3-bedroom apartments (something Barton Creek Landing does not offer), but I just can't get myself to leave. It just feels like home and I plan to stay here as long as I can. These are the things I enjoy the most about living at BCL: 1. General Appearance - the grounds are clean and well maintained. I have a stressful job, so whenever I come home I feel like I'm in a peaceful retreat. 2. Location - although it's off the Mopac service road, unlike the other apartment complexes in the area, it's tucked away on an actual road (Bartons Bluff Lane), so highway noise has never been an issue. While walkability is very low due to the danger of vehicles traveling at high speeds on the service road, if you drive anywhere then you will see it's very convenient to everything. 5-10 minutes to downtown, Westlake, and South Lamar/South Austin. Super convenient. 3. School District - even though the address is in Austin, if you have kids, they are automatically zoned in the award winning Eanes school district. My kids have both been there since kindergarten; all the schools from elementary to high school are outstanding. 4. Amenities - best gym of any apartment complex around. Hands down. They have renovated it over the years and it has everything you need and it seems like no one takes advantage of it because it's always empty. The pool is also quite lovely. The water temperature is always set to a comfortable temperature and it just feels relaxing and peaceful. 5. Maintenance - I've known the maintenance guys for many years. They've always responded quickly and do good work. I've never had to pay for any repairs (I read one Yelp reviewer say that they had to pay for repairs? I'm not sure why that is). read more

My wife and I were in Austin for 3 months and leased an apartment at Barton Creek Landing. Our apartment was well designed and had been updated to include stainless steel appliances, granite countertops, new lighting, and new flooring. We even had a working fireplace! The complex is off the MoPac highway and only a couple miles from Zilker Park (site of the annual Austin City Limits!), Barton Springs, and downtown Austin. Despite the fact that the complex was only 1/4 mile from the MoPac freeway, we did not hear much highway noise. The complex has a very nice pool and a great resident lounge and workout center. In addition, the staff was great! We worked with Sarah Craemer and she always helped us quickly and efficiently deal with a couple issues that often come with apartment living. I have seen a mouse twice in my apartment, places a mouse trap down myself, caught it and had to throw it out myself. (If you're a girl, maintenance wont do that for you) On June 29, 2019 the office emailed us that 4 cars got broken into and 1 was stolen There isn't enough parking but you will see and know that before moving in. read more

These apartments appear nice on the surface, but all the perks of living near barton springs were outweighed by the extreme hassle of living in these apartments. My top complaints are: 1) Hidden Fees- Carpet replacement (based on how many years you used the carpet for, 5 yrs= full carpeting cost of $743), and Stove Top replacement (any cosmetic signs of usage warrant full replacement) of $370. Obviously you can kiss your deposit goodbye but I, unfortunately, had to pay several hundred dollars extra to Barton Creek Landing while paying for my moving expenses and a deposit on a new unit. 2) Shut Off Water- in my two years at BCL, they shut the water off to my building 17 times, sometimes with up to twelve hours notice but some came without ANY notice. With that many incidents, you're bound to go to work without showering at least once in your stay. 3) Parking- You are only allotted one spot per household, and all guests are expected to park outside the gate and walk in, which could be 5-6 min of walking depending on your apartment. If you don't live alone, you will have to walk in, passed dozens of unfilled reserved spots, guaranteed. To add insult to injury, my roommate was harassed for parking her car in the free parking by the leasing office solely because it was an older car with superficial damage. They threatened to have it towed on the basis it could not run, even though it regularly changed spots. ~Other Things I Didn't Like~ -Ground maintenence only worked on the area around our unit right before the peak move-in season -Units have wood-burning fireplaces which sound nice but not many people want to light an actual smokey fire, clean the thing afterwards, and sacrifice the space it takes up on the floor. -Electronic locks for gym and pool don't work very well- I forced my way into the gym every time I went to use it -Nasty fragrance machines in the common areas which are meant for large scale hotel use, way too strong -When you use the gym, your'e stuck listening to the worst radio station and there's nothing you can do about it -Management selectively allows patio and front door decorations, based on their opinion of the object's style. I recommend these apartments for single people who make more money than they know what to do with, don't mind showering in the pool, and don't have people over. read more

Apartment Seekers! Do you enjoy... Living in a constant construction zone? Nonrenewable leases? Hearing your neighbor walk/talk/shower/urinate? Bi-weekly car break-ins? When you're not hearing your neighbor, hearing all the other apartments around you being completely gutted (including on weekends) to a blaring soundtrack of Tejano music? Having to use blackout curtains due to the barrage of security lights pointed at your bedroom window? Maintenance men constantly entering your apartment for bizarre reasons? Being inconveniently located from everything as you are forced to make a two mile u-turn on Mopac just to get to the entrance of the complex? Getting your water turned off with no notice? Several times? Oh wait, they sent you an email an hour before! Don't bother requesting they put a note on your door or anything as that will 'waste too many trees and is really bad for the environment.' You silly tree-killer, you. Watching a mass exodus of people being systematically thrown out of their apartments even though many were assured their leases would be renewed due to the 'natural level of moving in and out' of the complex? You DO? Then come on down! This is the place for you! Basically the apartment was a total hole, they remodeled the outside, and now are doing the same for the inside as well. The place is a literal construction hell. There are crews everywhere, people are constantly getting flats or almost getting mowed down by work trucks, and it is forever noisy. Even if you did move in after all the renovations were done, the new asking price is a joke. You could get a really cute and larger house in Hyde Park or somewhere closer to downtown for way less. And unless you work on the greenbelt or in the mall, it is not conveniently located to ANYTHING. An extra star because the staff is nice. After all, it isn't their fault. read more

The facts say this place should be a paradise. Fact 1: Walk 3 minutes, & you arrive at a hiking/jogging trail with lots of shade (for your furry companion) & work-out pit stops along the way. Fact 2: Greenbelt, Barton Springs, Zilker Park & Town Lake right around the corner. Fact 3: Matthew, the primary leasing agent, is a doll. Segway any conversation with him to films; those discussions prove worth remembering. All those pros weren't enough to make up for the cons. That says something. We moved here site-unseen from NC. First, we pulled in with our U-Haul to discover -- surprise! -- construction happening at that moment on our building. Now, the complex is beautified; then, we woke up at 7am every morning to hammers on the wall at the our heads. The photos we saw for the apartment sported post-construction interior; the apartment we got was pre-construction, but we still paid the same price. The first time we unlocked the door to our potential one-bedroom/one-study loft apartment, we discovered it was a one-bedroom, all on the ground floor. The complex experienced technical difficulties with the water main regularly -- read, the water wouldn't work. The doggy pick-up bag containers around the complex were regularly empty, so we had to stock up when we visited other parks. Once, we received a written warning from management stating we'd been seen not picking up after our dog. Since the dispensers proved empty so often, we frequently had to circle back to the apartment to grab a bag before continuing our walk. When I went to the office to explain this, they simply shrugged it off, implying if we got another notice, THEN we'd talk. Apparently, the other dog owners weren't as conscientious as we were; the grounds remain covered in puppy feces. Insert appropriate simile here. read more

Their #1 priority is to renovate the apartments so they can charge higher rents even if it means inconveniencing existing residents. There has been constant construction noise and workers milling about in the parking lot since I got here. As I was moving in, they were tearing up the unit below mine and a few weeks later they started gutting the one next door. This went on for weeks. Water shutoffs are frequent. I'm trying to work from home today but there is no water from 10-2 (4 hours) because they're renovating one of the units in my building. There is at least one more unit in addition to mine that needs to be renovated in this building so whoever moves in will experience the joys of hammering and sawing at all hours during the day and even at night. On the plus side, my apartment is pretty nice. I enjoy being close to the greenbelt. It's close to Zilker and downtown and there is a nice hiking trail behind the complex. There is a nice little pool but it's always full when the weather is nice. I'm moving because they wouldn't renew my lease as they are going to renovate this unit. However, after the crap I put up with over the past year I would never consider leasing a renovated apt from them, even if the cost was justified by the renovations. I'm also pretty tired of the commute and looking for a place more central. read more

The pool is the best part of the complex but don't be fooled! My apartment was newly renovated when I moved in. But the poor lay out in the Legislator Floor plan made it impossible to open the freezer all the way, the oven would hit the handles of the perpendicular cabinet, and washer/dryer broke often. Also the pool after 4 on weekdays or after 1 on the weekend was mostly screaming and running crazy kids. As a dog owner I was drawn to the dog park on site and the several dogs in the complex. The park was dirt and mud 80% of the time. They would water the dirt every evening making a big mess. If it rained the park was just all mud for days. Also every spring / summer the out break of fleas and misquotes in there was terrible! They would have it treated weekly but the water retention pond next to it was a breeding ground of still water. Upon leaving I hired a professional company to clean the apartment and carpets. But in the 2nd bedroom my dog had a few mistakes and the outside service wanted to completely replace the carpet in that room. At the walk through I accepted that and requested the bill. I was sent a bill to replace all the carpet even though I was told the other two rooms had no damage. The $250 pet fee and $20 a month rent didn't cover anything but "to have my dog there." I was in a two bedroom apartment but was only given 1 assigned space. They were very limited on additional spots so the other car was always up front or on the street. When you look at these apartments please go after 6:30 and see if you can find a spot anywhere in that complex! Overall don't be fooled by the pool or public spaces. read more

LOVE this place! Seriously could not have found a better combination of location and amenities. It's a $10 cab ride to downtown and you are right in the heart of the Green-Belt so its a gorgeous part of Austin. I ended up in a newly renovated apartment (very tasteful btw) so there were just a few small issues but service and management were extremely responsive, generally same-day or next-day service for even the smallest of things. The pool is fantastic and we got a lot of use out of the hot tub as well. The gym is small but is adequate enough for a quick work-out. Apartment management has been very responsive as well, they got to know my name pretty quick as I order stuff online all the time. Never had any issues with parking myself and its been convenient to be able to tell guests they can park anywhere. Cant say enough about the location though. I was looking at a place downtown but found I could literally pay half the price for these apartments and only be 5 minutes away (literally 1 exit down on mopac going north). It's only a 1.5 mile jog down to Zilker, you have Barton Springs Mall right across the highway. I've also been able to take advantage of the Barton Springs/Lamar area that is just around the corner. Been here for 6 months and still havent discovered all the hidden gems that Lamar has to offer. If I end up sticking around Austin I'd have absolutely no problem renewing my lease, and ultimately, I think thats the best compliment you can give to an apartment complex. read more

I've been a resident here twice - once in 2009 and again from 2015 to the present. The only reason I left in 2009 was that they were remodeling all of the units and not renewing leases. I eventually came back and am glad I did. Pros: You can't beat the location. You are about 5 minutes from downtown and have greenbelt access. People pay over $500K to be in condos for the same amenities. The remodel is gorgeous - granite counter tops, wood floors, stainless steel appliances. Whenever I have friends over, they comment on how nice it is. Also included with the unit (which surprised me) was a full washer/dryer and mounted big screen TV in the living room. I've had a few service issues during my time here, and I will say the management was top notch. They responded immediately and follow up to make sure everything has been taken care of (my only complaint - the follow up feels like my mother hovering over - enough already). Cons: Parking can be an issue depending on where you are in the complex (welcome to downtown). The units have assigned spaces, and there are some free spaces up for grabs. If you are having people over, I just tell them to park at the leasing office and I'll come get them. If you have a unit near the pool (which I do), noise can be an issue. It's a great pool, so I get why people are always at it. However, if noise bothers you, pick a unit that doesn't face the pool. Bottom line: This is a little gem of a community. Close to downtown, but still quiet and nestled in the greenbelt with a connection to nature. The complex is about 1/4 mile off of Mopac, so no city noise, but easy access. Dog friendly, and the neighbors are nice. read more

I'm about to end 13 months of living here at Barton Creek Landing. The complex is old, not very conveniently located, and the management is awful. My 2 stars are for 1) being so close to Barton Springs/Zilker Park and 2)being so close to the Greenbelt. Our toilet broke within a week of moving in, and it took them 3 days to fix it, and when they did fix it, they used pieces of painted yellow plywood between the toilet and the floor (which STILL shakes when you flush it, BTW). We have had a recurring problem with raccoons getting into the walls/ceiling of our apartment through holes in the dilapidated siding. During the winter this led to our heater blowing out (well, the raccoon AND faulty wiring) and just in the past couple of days they ate the wiring for our Air Conditioner. We have complained about the raccoons a couple of times, and the only thing they've done is put fox urine on a cotton ball in the ceiling...it only works for about a week, then we hear the scratching and crawling again. My main complaint has to do with the parking. Where our apartment is located, there are not many spots that are convenient to park in. When someone moved into an apartment down the way, then constantly double parked their Cadillac right in front of my apartment, I left a couple of notes on the car, then when they continued to do it, complained to the office. Their response was that they weren't going to do anything about it because we leave the dog on the balcony when we're at work during the day! They never let us know this was a lease violation, until we asked something perfectly reasonable of them. Did I mention it only takes me 2 minutes to get to the Greenbelt? read more

We've loved living at BCL for the last year! It's a great place to live! What I really want to highlight is how amazing the team here is. Last week was the big winter storm in Texas- so many people all across the state lost power and water. While we did lose our utilities at BCL I felt SO taken care of by the team! They were incredibly proactive in all of their communication always keeping us updated, they had food and bottled water delivered to the community, and they worked tirelessly to fix the issues as soon as possible. I couldn't ask for a better team working here! They were all dealing with the same issues as the whole city but it truly felt like they put their residents first. THANK YOU BCL!! read more

AVOID - Greedy and dishonorable management. Read the other reviews - this is a common theme from residents leaving the community. I am no stranger to apartment living and have lived in roughly 7 different complexes throughout my life in various metropolitan areas, and I have never been so nickel and dimed as I was by UDR during the two years I lived at this complex. The amenities and location are nice, but you can find the same at other complexes in the same vicinity with better management and less expensive cost. Here are just a few examples: - Forget ever getting your security deposit back, even for normal wear and tear. In addition to not getting any deposit back, they had the audacity to send an additional bill in excess of my deposit for basic cleaning and prepping the walls for the next tenant. This is something that any normal, respectful tenant would leave behind. Not only that, it contradicts the Texas Property Code which states that landlords cannot retain any portion of a security deposit for normal wear and tear. - All repairs are an extra charge. What is the point of renting if you are charged extra for everything that needs a repair? - Cheap units and construction. My sink completely fell off my counter during my final month living at the community. - Massive buyout fee if you need to end a lease early and they were uncooperative when discussing options. Even if they rent the unit out to a new tenant (since subleases aren't allowed), you will be charged and given no billing flexibility. - My parking pass was not returned on the day of move-out as it wasn't on the emails/checklist. I was given a call to return the parking pass a week after move-out, and I offered to mail the pass since I no longer live in the community. I was told that was unacceptable and would be charged an additional $200 if the pass wasn't received that day. What if I had moved out of state? I have never been treated with such greed and disrespect both as a resident and human being by a landlord. They only care about your pocketbook. I'll give you the good with the bad. It's a nice complex, renovated five-ish years ago, everything is still in good shape, nice pool, decent workout room, yoga on Mondays, brunch for residents once a month. Location is decent if you are cool with living close in but not walking distance to anything practical (like a grocery store or dry cleaners). The Greenbelt, however, is right behind the complex, so you can hike and mountain bike those trails for days. If you get a place facing the Greenbelt, you can sit on the patio, sip your wine and listen to the ACL raging down below, as long as you are not bothered by Texas wood roaches flying at ya (they do fly!). The place feels chill and resort-y in the warmer months, when you can enjoy the community grills and the pool. You can make friends with people - there are lots of dog owners here and some families with kids -and have idyllic gatherings in the warm nights. As for the bad, the place is pretty transient, and you definitely get a feel of temporariness and not caring (like why won't those dog lovers pick up the poop from a little green space with a doggy bag dispenser, why??). There was a big drug bust or something a couple months back with lots of noise and police activity in the middle of the night. And not a peep from the management afterwards. Not entirely their fault they got a shady tenant, but as a courtesy, it would have been nice to know he/she is no longer there, measure are taken, blah, blah. Just generally, could have used less of a snooty attitude and more actual help from the Office. Maintenance is slow and shoddy in an off-handed way. We didn't have major issues, it was just annoying. The dude came to fix a sliding door in the closet, and just sunk the screws a little deeper in the thick carpet, instead of doing it right and attaching the screws to the boards beneath. Every apartment has carpet, so one would think they'd know how to do this. Needless to say, the "fix" undid itself in a week or so of regular gentle use. After that, we just kinda coasted to the end of the lease, reattaching the screws. To the carpet. It became a metaphor for everything else that wasn't right with the place. Take the good with the bad, you can certainly make the best of it. The pool is heated, the apartments feel bright and airy, the Greenbelt is the Greenbelt, and there are nice people everywhere. read more

Been here for about 7 months in a 2 bedroom with roommate. Staff is great, amenities are great, neighbors are great. The place is newly renovated and I get compliments on the apartment whenever I have friends over. Location is quite nice and that's part of the expensiveness of rent, which I'm fine with. Like any apartment, the walls/ceilings are thin. I can hear the neighbors stomping around upstairs and the roommates TV in other room. My only real big annoyance with BCL is the parking. There are never any spots open in my vicinity so I have to park outside of the gates out front and walk all the way to my apartment. What's the point in having gates when 30 cars have to park outside them every day? I wish they would remove personal spots altogether. My roommate and I literally both take guest spots so we can guarantee an open spot if we ever have guests over. They are that much of a commodity. BCL would be perfect for single bedrooms since you're guaranteed a spot; however, the single bedrooms are quite pricey. read more

This place is wonderful. For the area, the rent is actually at a fairly good price. I only wish it was cheaper because for my budget it's breaking the bank. However, it has been so worth it. All the apartments are completely renovated. The bedrooms are very spacious with high ceilings. There are granite countertops and new appliances in the kitchens, as well as a washer and dryer. The management here is wonderful and extremely helpful. Can't forget the amenities are awesome too. While the loop around because we are just off the access road can be a little bit of a pain, getting to South Austin and downtown is a complete breeze. You are one exit from downtown and two miles from Zilker Park with greenbelt access. That is exactly why we chose this place after all. As for parking, I live in a two bedroom. So my roommate and I only get one covered space. The so-called issue can easily be combated by knowing each other's schedules and leaving the covered space to whoever is getting home last. We've never really had an issue except for around ACL. Even then we just parked by the management office no problem. read more

Great location - you can bike to Zilker Park and the Greenbelt access is wonderful. BUT - the management company is awful. Not responsive to issues and constantly push off issues as not their fault. After water damage (and black mold that caused 2 families to move out after getting very ill), there were electrical issues. I received a bill over $5700 for a month of power, spoke with the utility company and attempted to post a note to neighbors on the private bulletin board asking if anyone had similar issues. My post was rejected "by management" with no reason given saying I could reach neighbors by other means. So instead of privately helping me out, the management prefers me to post publicly to say how horribly managed this complex is. In 3 months of residing here, my power has been out 4 times and my water cut off 3 times. Lack of communication from management and lack of follow up really makes this complex a bad place to live. Simple questions aren't answered - like when are the security gates supposed to be shut? It is very random and I was never given an answer as to how the gates (open/close time) were managed. Half the exterior lights are out, another safety issue. Parking - if you have more than 1 car per apartment DO NOT move here. read more

This place is WONDERFUL! You can't beat the location, and the prices are fantastic! The property is located in the middle of everything, surrounded by gorgeous rolling hills, tucked away on a quiet street. All the units are completely renovated and come with washer & dryers. The pool and amenities are great, but the staff really stood out to me. Sarah was extremely knowledgeable about the community and the area. She was very friendly and she made us feel right at home. I lived at Barton Creek Landing for one year and I had a great experience. If you are looking for a place near Zilker/Greenbelt with quick access to Mopac, I highly recommend that you check out BCL! Pros: *Again, the awesome location. You can quickly bike down to Zilker and there is access to the Greenbelt just behind the complex. Spyglass is just a street over, so I became a frequent patron of Taco Deli in that area. I also felt I beat some of the horrid Austin traffic with the easy access to Mopac. *Management was incredibly attentive. All my service requests were handled within 48 hours. I once had an issue with my air conditioning on a hot day. I expressed my concern that my dog was in my unit in the heat and I was contacted directly with reassurance that they were handling the issue. *I had no issues with moving out. I felt the move out process was transparent and I was honestly surprised that I received my deposit back so quickly. *The pool is gorgeous and heated. I used the grill often too. *The complex is dog friendly! *I had an awesome one-bedroom floor plan that was set-up townhouse style. I haven't come across anything like it yet in Austin. Cons: *Although it was clear there was a remodel with new flooring, granite counter tops, and stainless steel appliances, I felt that the carpet needed to be replaced and the paint needed to be redone. *I had a covered parking spot which I appreciated, but I found it hard to accommodate guests when they would visit. I often had to recommend street parking. *I did feel my rent was high for the size of my place, but I stuck with it for a year because I loved the complex amenities and my location. read more

Have been here since November and very happy with the place. Great location, easy access to the greenbelt and Zilker Park. Can be at Barton Springs and Lamar in 5 minutes. Right off Mopac. The staff is a pleasure to deal with, very responsive. Have had no issues with my place beside replacing a light bulb. The only downside is a lack of parking. Highly recommend paying for a carport or garage. Visitors will have to park at the leasing office. read more

We applied to a floor plan that I had slight reservations about, but my boyfriend was most interested in so he convinced me. So we signed the lease. When we arrived on move-in day to check it out in person for the first time (because it was not available to view when we were applying) and before actually physically moving in, we quickly realized that it was the totally wrong floor plan for us. The bedroom had an open concept so it didn't have a 4th wall or door which we were told about. But it's two different things hearing about it and then experiencing it in person. We both get migraines and not having a way to block out sound from the rest of the apartment would have been excruciating. The apartment would have been perfect for one person, but not two people whose disability causes oversensitivity. So I barely slept that night, worried we were stuck with that floor plan. We went to the leasing office as soon as they opened and explained the situation. The woman helping us was very kind and professional and talked it over with her manager that very day. And that afternoon, we were able to switch floor plans. I was so relieved. I never expected such understanding, especially since we had made a commitment by signing the lease for the first place. But I feel it was possible for us since we had not moved our stuff in yet and we have a disability in the form of frequent migraines. I would highly recommend this place, not because they let people last minute switch floor plans (because we were a unique case), but because the staff truly cares about their residents and will do what they can to be reasonable. And to me, that shows integrity. Additionally, this complex has quality amenities and they do a great job of keeping up with updating the property. I'm very happy living here so far! read more

If you are thinking about renting here, I would look somewhere else. The place is in a great location, but that is about it. The place is run down, although when I left they are updating the exterior. (The best thing being that they are replacing the windows to make them more energy efficient). My biggest complaint is the maintenance. I don't blame the maintenance men or even the office managers, I think the culture created at UDR contributes to nothing ever being fixed. It took 4 months and notes like "leave your milk on the top shelf" to get my referigrator replaced when it would either freeze things or spoil them. I had numerous requests, and rarely were they ever actually fixed. They were more or less patched, rather than repaired. To top it off, they took $120 out of my deposit to resurface one of the tubs. It needed resurfacing when we moved in, but first, I didn't know you could "resurface" a tub, second, I assumed it was nothing they would fix anyway. Given they way they had handled previous maintenance requests, I didn't feel like having to chase them down to fix this. Anyway, I can't give this place anything more than 1 star for location. If it comes under new management - other than UDR - I would say take a look and see how it looks. But if UDR is still managing the property, run and find another complex. read more

Fairly quiet and clean community. Normal apartment amenities, nothing out of the ordinary. Lived in a 2 bedroom. It was extremely difficult to find parking for both of us since you are only given a single parking spot. (you can buy a garage, but these are also sparse). Outside of that, there are only a handful of uncovered/guest parking spots. I would recommend for a single bedroom with 1 car, but if you live in a 2 bedroom and have a roommate that also has a car, get ready for some difficult parking situations. read more

THIEVES!!!! Barton Creek Landing Management-Billing!!!! They sent me a a bill ridden with fraudulent, bogus charges, which they refuse to review or correct. After being a reliable, responsible tenant, on a final, additional bill, they invented several charges, double billed me for water...the list goes on to $290, with a threat of collections, within 15 days. So yes, it was problem ridden, the 2 years I was there: construction, repeated 3 AM fights of our neighbors, paper thin walls, blood on our sidewalks which I alerted staff to tend to when it was fresh, but they left it, with the broken glass and blood for all the neighbors. They never steamed the carpets like they said they would when I resigned a lease; it took 6 requests to get my dryer pipes cleared of birds nest, the window seal was never repaired after 6 requests following a flood former tenants endured there. Laundry room doors were falling off and never repaired to a manner that would prevent them falling off again. I put up with all their crap and now they want to collect money I do not owe, so they can trick a new tenant in. Watch out, they may scam you on your way out! 2013- Since the bill was fraudulant and I put up a lil fight, I didn't pay a dime to their fraudulant charge and since it was a bogus charge, they couldn't take any action against me or my credit. I wish I could take this negativity down, but this place really sucked and I want people to know. read more
