I arrived and the nice gentleman told me it would take just a few minutes. When I returned he handed both watches back, no charge. The pin just needed straightening, not replacing. I will definitely use Fixology again. Not because it was free, which is an amazing thing, but because even before that, he was fast to respond and friendly and courteous in person.

This was a terrible experience. I found Bennison on Yelp and was recommended due to being close to…read moremy home. Spoke with the matchmaker and stated that I would wind it, but would stop after awhile. I was winding it enough, so thought there might be loose screw or lube issue. He tested my watch on the bench and my watch was keeping acceptable time (+- 4), but they recommended a full overhaul for $700, which is crazy. Its a Selitta movement and only 3 years, so I thought he was trying to gauge me and wasnt addressing the issue. After goung back and forth and not get a good justification for full overhaul, I told him I wanted it back and took it to matchmaker in Gardens Mall. After a brief check the new watchmaker determined that there was a dislodged screw, in fact the entire rotor had moved, see pic. He took a closer look to assure there was no damaged and although there were a few nicks, he determined that the rotor screw became loose, which is rare, but fortunately no detrimental damage to the movement. After a quick fix, reseal and $100 later, the watch was in perfect working condition. I guarantee that the Bennison matchmaker didnt know what he was doing and in fact, his work could have really damaged the movement. Im not one to write a bad review, but this one was warranted! If you bring your timepiece here, proceed with caution, stay informed and bring your wallet.

He continues to work on watches (from changing batteries on Timex, etc.) to repairs on Rolex and Patek Philippe. He sells and repairs fine jewelry. He also works on French and English shelf clocks (small carriage size and larger). We met him the other the other day when we brought in an antique wall clock and he politely said that he stopped working on antique clocks about 10 years ago because they take so much time. All the while he was talking, he was unscrewing the clock works and telling us interesting things about it's age, the maker, and about working on time pieces. In the hour we were there having a fun conversation, he unbent a spindle, oiled everything that could have been keeping the clock from working, and explained how to hang it so that it had the best chance of keeping good time. We took it home, hung it on the wall and with a couple small adjustments to make it level, it has been keeping good time ever since. He asked that if I could get the word out that he doesn't fix old spring or weight driven clocks anymore, and I said I would. So there you have it. He'll work on wrist watches, pocket watches, pieces of jewelry or French carriage clock size or larger. GABE WAS WONDERFUL. I would trust him implicitly if I had a valuable watch. Alas, I only have an old wooden wall clock that is working again after 35 years of just hanging around being pretty.

Gold has an instrinsic value not a subjective one, next shop quoted 75% of value and amount worked out to about $2,000.00 MORE. I also found the woman i dealt with Evasive about providing the price basis that I had to ask 3 Times to finally get, appeared she was trying to repeatedly provide total dollar amount rather than providing price being paid per ounce or pennyweight. Dissapointing in this small and usually friendly town.

They educated me on each part of the necklace i was buying; explaining how it's made, the pros and cons, etc. They showed options all around my price range to allow me to make the choices I felt were right. I was in and out multiple times for two weeks trying to get all the details right and each time I went in they remembered me and greeted me warmly.
