They've lied to me and cheated me out of my hard earned money…read more I ordered 500 sq. ft of Bruce, high gloss finish, hardwood flooring from these people March 31, 2015, to tie in with my existing floor. I first spoke with the owner, Andrew who told me he'd meet or beat Lowe's prices (1st lie) then he turned me over to his salesperson, Debra. She quoted me $3.29 sq. ft. for a satin finish, $4.65 for high gloss. I ordered high gloss, which is what I already have in my home. After the flooring was half installed, I could see the finish was satin. I called Above Board Flooring immediately, told them I didn't expect the hardwood to be torn up and replaced but I did expect to be given the $1.26 difference in price they up charged me for high gloss. They refuse to take repsonsibility, putting all the blame on Debra, who convienently doesn't work for them any more! I sat with Debra, in her office when she called Bruce directly on March 30, and inquired about the high gloss finish, and they assured her they could do it. I have my original receipt showing that 9 years previously I had ordered high gloss finish, Bruce flooring and now Above Board Flooring is trying to tell me Bruce never made a high gloss. They are refusing to give me the $1.26 per sq. ft I was upcharged for the high gloss finish and offered me only .40 cents per sq. ft. I've been told over the phone by both Andrew (owner) and Netta (receptionist in their Pineville location) 3 different times that Mark Bishop, the salesperson who took over for Debra, would be contacting me. That hasn't happned and I've received no refund. My installation was in mid June. I think they're taking advantage of this senior citizen.

So..: I'm going to be blunt and completely honest. I had a problem with clear choice…read moreconstruction. Apparently a prior job refused to pay them and it trickled down to my job. I couldn't contact them and I was for sure I got scammed. I went as far as to go to the police and contact an attorney who told me realities of recouping money. But here's the deal. The policeman went and talked to them and came back to me and told me the truth. They had a job fall through and this cascaded through many people. Is it right I couldn't contact them... NO. But he made me see it another way. They were scared. They didn't have our deposits as most contractors use one jobs money for another and it's a house of cards. That's reality of this business. These people made a mistake, but in his words, they weren't trying to commit a crime. And don't kid yourself... almost any mom and pop business is one job away from this happening. So I had 2 choices. Get mad, sue them, keep the police involved or I could work with them. Option 1 might feel good for a minute but option 2 allows me to get my windows and take a little off their plate. So, he had them call me. And with some brutal honesty on both sides we were able to come to an agreement. They could keep my deposit as labor and I'd purchase the windows myself (through them because I'd pay a fortune and don't have a license with manufacturers). And that's what we did. In the end it cost me almost the exact same as originally quoted. 3 weeks later my windows arrived and they promptly put them in. They look wonderful and they did a magnificent job. I have zero complaints and am happy enough to tell this story and try to help them out. Look, I wanted to believe the worst and almost let my anger take me down the option 1 road. But it wouldn't have benefitted anyone. A little compassion and a bit of honesty allowed both of us to win. I recommend you use them. Their workmanship is top notch and they are just trying to recover from a job gone bad.

Not a fan. Pablo cut granite for a bar top that we had build as a custom project. The top of the…read morebar had 2 pieces and the seam shows significantly. He also cut the sink opening 1/4 of an inch too big. He recommended a plumber/tile guy who he frequently works with who we used to install the sink. When he asked Pablo to come back and trim down the sink opening he refused unless we paid him an additional charge. Also one end of the top of our bar is rounded and the other end is square. Pablo spouts all this crap about wanting to make the customer happy but when it comes to standing behind his work, he doesn't practice what he preaches!!!! I do not recommend The Master. More like the Master of Disaster!!

I tried contacting a variety of handymen, plumbers, etc.. and they were not able to offer this service. After extensive search, thankfully i found Pablo who was able to perform this service for a very reasonable flat fee. I placed the inquiry on yelp and was able to book next day service. Pablo showed up on time, did and excelled job refitting the sink, and fixing it in place with a strong bracing system to make sure it doesn't come loose again. He cleaned the moldy old caulking and resealed the sink and made sure he left the job site clean. Real professional work and great and easy communication. I am very satisfied and recommend his services.
