I came in for dinner with a few friends. Basil Hibachi was pretty dead, but there were a bunch of to-go orders while we were there. The service was great, from the girl taking our order at the counter to the server, and even the cook came out and said hi and merry Christmas. I ordered a single hibachi scallop entree with veggie, fries rice, and a side of fried shrimp dim sum. The rice was fairly bland, but easily fixable with soy sauce. The scallops are the smaller bay scallops, but tasted good. Good veggies too. The dim sum appetizer was fine. Drinks are cans and bottles. If it weren't for the service I might have given this a 3-star. Average food. read more

I have written a review here before, but in light of the new $5 lunch special, I had to rewrite it. I was shocked when I called in a lunch order and they said $5.45- I was positive the girl on the phone had simply misspoken. But, when I went inside to grab my order and pay, the total was still the same $5.45. I was in shock and awe, I cannot remember the last time I got lunch for under $6- it was surely nearly a decade ago, and not in the recent past. I enjoyed the meal, even if it was a touch bland, but it is a $5 lunch special, so it's hard to complain. The veggies were still crispy and delicious and the steamed rice was nice and fluffy. The chicken was well seasoned, and I liked how they used cabbage as a cheap filler veggie in this hibachi. It was a good and affordable meal. One of my favorite food spots since moving out to this area. The restaurant is owned by a nice small family, and the food is delicious. Coming from VA, the prices all feel affordable and worth it especially with the quality and amount of food. We have invited family and friends to try this spot close to our home and everyone has loved it, some even claiming it's the best Hibachi they ever had. It certainly ends up being a craving for me, and we always appreciated the taste and options of the meals and what's included each time we've gone. I even brought my toddler with me once and they remembered me & even gave a little extra for him, which was so sweet! He loves their noodles, chicken & egg rolls. I've ordered here a few times and I'll keep doing that because the food is delicious. Just ordered hibachi chicken and steak and everything was cooked perfectly. Chicken was NOT overcooked and the steak was nice and tender. The portions are large and the service always meets my expectations. There's never anyone sitting inside when I've been there but they have a large area to dining. This place is a perfect hibachi spot in my opinion. read more

I've anticipated trying this place since their sign popped up on the shopping strip. I decided to stop by and place a to-go order. The restaurant is bright and clean. Not much decor. It still has a "we just opened" feel to it. They weren't busy as far as having many customers, but they were preparing a massive catering order for a local company. I asked how long my order would take and they said 20 minutes since they were finishing up the catering order. I told them that I would be back after I ran an errand. The nice lady promised it would be ready. I returned just over 20 minutes and the lady brought my food to me just as I was taking my son out of the car to go inside. As you can tell excellent customer service. Now, to the food. I ordered steak (medium) and shrimp with teriyaki sauce, fried rice, broccoli and onions, and sweet carrots. You can select whatever sauce flavor and vegetables you want. The steak was perfectly medium and seasoned well. The shrimp was not overcooked. Delicious food except for a few things. The spring roll wasn't my fave, but wasn't too mad since it came with the meal. The packaged duck sauce that they use was terrible. The white sauce is kind of watery. This small spot opened a short while ago, and the interior is clean and bright, with a good amount of seating. There is no table service, so place your order at the register. I ordered Hibachi Shrimp with mixed vegetables and Fried Rice. The order was out quickly and there was quite a bit of food, though the vast majority was made up of the mixed veggies and the fried rice. While the shrimp were tasty, they were small and there were few of them. The veggies were not especially fresh tasting and lacked any crunch. There was a separate area of sliced carrots and these were very mushy with no flavor. This is a family operation and the folks are very pleasant and efficient, and I wanted this to be a nice meal, but this was not the case. The food is average at best, and I can't see a return visit! New hibachi place owned and operated by the nicest family. I'm giving 5 stars because they know who they are and what they do well. Therefore, the menu is concise and focused only on hibachi, or teriyaki with a few starters. I think too many restaurants try to do too much and have a lot of menu items which means a lot of their food is frozen and heated up instead of freshly prepared. The food here is prepared when ordered and it tastes fresh and flavorful. Veggies had a nice bite and they will cook them more or less depending on your preference. Service is very friendly and helpful, seating is plentiful as are the food portions, and the restaurant is clean. Not necessarily a place for a first date or a romantic night out.... as it's very casual with counter service and your food comes in to go containers but a solid choice for take out or a quick casual home cooked meal. Meals come with a spring roll, choice of sauces, sweet carrots, and a choice of white rice, fried rice or noodles. If dining in, request their duck sauce for the spring rolls as it comes with a packet which isn't great imho. They were very accommodating with changes, I requested no sweet carrots and specific veggies which they did no problem at all. I would love to see them offer dine in plates and cutlery in the future as I can't stand eating out of to go boxes, especially styrofoam but they have just opened so I'll update later if that changes. I must say the customer service is good. Everyone is very friendly. I was disappointed in the quality of the food. The wings were very small and no sauce was provided. They were dry and unflavored. The hibachi was just ok and i had to add garlic and pepper to it to give it some oomph. Perhaps it needs more time and more honest customer feedback to improve. Been waiting for this place to open and I was not disappointed. Very nice location. The food was way better than expected. The portion was more than enough for me. Everything tastes fresh no leftover fried rice or protein. I will definitely be coming back with the family. Service was quick I was in and out in no time.
