Quick, rushed, and lacking accountability. This experience felt far more focused on payment and risk management than patient care. I was quoted around $200 out of pocket and later billed $805. After a large filling replacement, I reported pain within days and was told it was just gum trauma. The pain continued, and when the tooth cracked in half, I was effectively denied care in what felt like an urgent situation until payment was made first. What may have been manageable with timely intervention ultimately progressed to needing an implant--leaving me with a far bigger and far more expensive problem to solve. The office manager was defensive and seemed more focused on protecting the practice than facilitating care or addressing a legitimate concern. Combined with the dentist's aloof response and delays in forwarding my records, this completely eroded my trust. Deeply disappointing experience. read more

Let's start with the good, I am from out of state and I have pain in one of my teeth, As most of you know teeth pain can be excruciating and should be treated with prompt care. I was able to get an appointment within 30 minutes of my call. The front desk staff was awesome, super kind and helpful. As stated prior I'm from out of state and my insurance was not accepted so everything was out of pocket (they did work with me but the assistant/ hygienist made me feel bad about requesting a minimal exam to minimize expense). The doctor was knowledgeable and gave me my options and spoke to me with respect. However, the dental assistant/hygienist was extremely unprofessional and rude. Speaking to her trainee with no courtesy of my feelings. I told them where my pain was located (the doctor confirmed this later) but this woman would not acknowledge it and said "she doesn't know where her pain is located" I didn't come to get my teeth worked on because I wanted to be judged and treated with disrespect. I wanted to be relieved of my pain. There is no excuse for someone to be treated like this. If choosing to go here is based off quality of care don't expect it from one of their assistants/ hygienist. Hope this was not an everyday treatment of their patients I'm very disappointed. read more

Work done in the Andrews office and can't complain about my dentist there he is top notch. The office hours and how they respond to emergencies is the problem, they don't answer the phones promptly and are a bit unconcerned when you call with a problem! If I could give Zero stars I would. Shady tactics and they took advantage of my wife that didn't fully understand the insurance process. My wife asked if they take our insurance They said "yes". The failed to mention that just because they can take our insurance card, doesn't mean they can do anything with it. Oh their little "we are not in any insurance network" disclaimer is down in the paperwork, but they will certainly not go out of their way to inform you. Thank God my wife called me and told me they recommended an almost $3,000 procedure for my son. I knew that there was no procedures that would cost this much on our insurance. That's when I started asking questions. And their "initial new client" work up? Almost $300 that they failed to mention until after the fact. So I just paid them$700 (for two people plus extras) and told them where to go. If there is a reason NO insurance companies will work with them, you probably shouldn't either. Save yourself the time and money and avoid them like the plague! And make sure everyone in your family knows the ins and outs of your insurance. read more

I don't remember the technician's name, but she was amazing. Explained everything she was going to do and did the best cleaning I've had I think ever. Saw the dr. briefly and he seemed very nice as well, explained what he was seeing and the course of action moving forward. I'm usually a bit nervous at my dentist appointments but they have earned my trust with today's visit and I feel a bit more relaxed going back for my check ups. I contacted Basin Dentistry prior to me scheduling my dental cleaning and check up to make sure they accepted my insurance. They said they did but I would have to pay up front to them and then I would receive a reimbursement check from my insurance provider. Everything was fine until I had to have two cavities filled which cost almost $600! I made sure to ask them how much my insurance would cover and they said between 75-80%. Fast forward to a few weeks later and I get a check in the mail from my insurance provider only covering 25%. I contacted basin dentistry and ask them why this was and they said it was my insurances fault. I started a grievance with my insurance company only to find out that basin dentistry is an "out of network provider". I did not know of this prior to my dental cleaning or the filling of my cavities. I emailed basin dentistry about this issue and they said that, "it is hard for us to know exactly what the insurance will reimburse you" and that they are, "very transparent when it comes to letting our patients know we are a out of network office". Obviously not if I was not informed of this until I contacted my insurance company and someone told me that 75-80% for sure would be covered. I would've never gone to basin if I knew that they would've scammed me like this. Do not come here! They will lie to you just to get your business and take your money. Also after my cavities were filled I noticed a rough spot on my tooth so I went back a few days later and saw a female dentist (I had a male dentist prior). She was very rude saying that there was no rough spot on my tooth. Pretty sure I didn't feel that before and I can tell something's rough when I slide my tongue over it. read more

I called this office after my own dentist had closed his practice. I'm a very anxious person when it comes to dental work. I have had 11 major surgeries without a problem but the thought of needles in my mouth freaks me out. I'm a retired nurse and I understand the anxiety that patients can experience under normal situations but apps they don't care about anything but money. I was asked 4 times how I was paying for the treatment. My response, "I don't have insurance but I do have money. Will that work?" I do have something positive to say. I cracked a tooth and I was having a lot of pain so the front desk got me in fast. The lady that I talked to a the front was very nice in person and on the phone. That's the only person that was nice to me. When the very young, rude dental assistant asked me why I was crying I explained that dentist make me anxious anyway and with the loss of my child recently I was unable to control my emotions. This girl, definitely not a women, had the audacity to tell me she understood what I was going through. I asked her if she had lost a child. He response was to tell me she had lost a loved one too. I told her until she had given life to someone only to have them violently taken away, she could NOT understand! Just a note, never tell a bereaved mother that you understand her pain unless you too have lost a child. I'm sorry for your loss is always a good answer instead of comparing your grief to theirs. This assistant could definitely use some sensitivity training and more training on how to deal with anxious patients. The dentist was no better. She was curt and dismissive with me. She spayed air on my tooth without warning and I came out of the chair. It was extremely painful. She told me she couldn't help me and that I needed a root canal. She wouldn't patch my tooth so I didn't look so hideous over Thanksgiving. In fact all she did was tell me what she couldn't do. No help here! This office is run like an assembly line and they could care less about you and your needs. I didn't come to them because I wanted to. Ever since the loss of my child I have avoided stressful situations as much as I can because I know how fragile I am right now. But this was an emergency to me. Only me apparently. If you are the least bit anxious about going to the dentist then don't go here. You can pay someone for their device but you can't pay them to care. I believe there is a special place in Hell for people who are unkind to a grieving parent. At least I hope so. read more

I had not been to a dentist in 15 years but they were great at making me feel at ease . I have extreme anxiety and providing me with conscious sedation was amazing. I had a deep cleaning (Periodontal Scaling and Root Planing) and two broken teeth removed. I will say the dental staff was great! But was very dissatisfied with the billing side of the staff. They hand you a long list of things to read about when you first check in...make sure you read that because no one will go over the policies or that the prices they quote you are just "estimated" prices and not the actual price you will pay. Probably one of the most expensive dental practices I have been too. I personally will not be going back because of the lack of communication I experienced. read more

Just left Basin Dentistry and tried a different hygienist named Maya and she was just as sloppy, like the first one I had. Water going down my face, water splashing up. She didn't suction frequently. When she was polishing she jammed the polishing tool up against my tongue so hard that I jumped up and spilled the water in my mouth on my shirt. I refused to have my teeth flossed by her. She is an awful hygienist. I've had really good ones and she's not one. Will not be returning. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!! Worst experience I have ever had with any medical "expert" in my entire life. I am 25, and had my wisdom teeth removed here and the dentist refused to prescribe anything but tylenol and IBprofen. He lied and told me that laws would not permit him to prescribe anything stronger, which is illegal to do. I was in a tremendous amount of pain and called daily asking for different drugs and he flat out refused. He is arrogant, unprofessional and disorganized. Prior to the operation, he told me I would be getting, "great drugs" to make it mainly pain free, then only gave me over the counter medicine. This bait and switch is illegal, and I have filed a complaint with the board of health. My lawyer is insisting I sue the company, which we are currently considering doing. read more

First visit. I had been to the same dentist for over 12 years. The facility is top notch. Very clean. The staff were all very professional and personable, which I think is very important in the dental field. I was worried that I might encounter an office that had quotas to meet. I did not feel that way at all. I had x-rays, pictures, a cleaning (deep) and fluoride treatment. They were very good at letting me know what my cost would be before they began. My insurance covers almost all of it, but they wanted me to be comfortable with my choices. My dentist thoroughly went over my x-rays and we discusssed my dental issues. I never felt pressured to agree to anything. I am scheduled for a filling in a couple of months and will probably get my teeth whitened, which is one of the reasons I went there! I plan on trying to convince my husband to switch to this great facility! read more

I will never take my children to Basin Pediatric Dentistry again. Dr. Ellis does not seem to have compassion for children, and was condescending towards parents. I took my 5 year old child in for cavities on his baby teeth. First Dr. Ellis put caps on them - which was a struggle because my 5yo was scared and crying. THEN Dr. Ellis proceeds to say that he needs to pull those teeth instead of capping. So he took off the caps and pulled the teeth, while my child screamed for his life. Thanks to Dr. Ellis I have a kid who will surely be traumatized for life by dentists. Dr. Ellis' manner and tone with me made me feel guilty for having a child who was scared and crying. He should know that all children are different and have different sensitivities and that should be taken into consideration when giving dental care to them! My child should not have had to be awake for this procedure, but Dr. Ellis did not give me many options, or explain fully WHY he would choose to pull the teeth after capping them. I will never use this "Pediatric" dentist again. read more

Basin Pediatric Dentistry is a wonderful place to take children. I refer everyone I can based on the experience. Dr. Zach and his staff are very professional and caring. They provide all options that include in office procedures and hospitalizations if needed. Some children's needs differ and as a parent we make the final decision on what option is best. Options are great to have but we should always keep our children in mind. I use both the pediatrics and the adult services. Everyone I have refered has positive things to say, they just aren't Yelp users. read more

I had scheduled an appointment to take care of a tooth that was causing severe pain and extract a broken tooth. They knew this up front but when I got there all they did was x rays and evaluate the problem. The dentist said they don't promise same day service but would take care of the problem on another appointment. Looked like they were over booked and didn't have time to handle my needs, SO don't expect same day service. The staff was great and maybe I can leave a better review after they perform some actual procedures. read more

i hate the dentist!havent been to one in over 5 years.Yeasterday I woke up in misery and had to go to Basin dentistry.Listen these guys are the best.The doctor is rad and very gentle...His wife is also a dentist and they scheduled a after hour root canal because my tooth was so bad.they wanted to save the tooth and did the best to do that.They did a great job and his staff even checked on me today to see if I was ok.Basin Denistry makes going to the Denistry pleasant if there's such a thing.I am so bummed that I am moving out of town because I would continue to go back and fix my teeth.I highly recommend you go see them...PS they have free snacks and drinks!!!!!! read more

My elderly mother just relocated to this area to be close to family and needed dental clearance in order to proceed with a total hip replacement. I had her see one of the dentist here at Basin Dentistry since that's where I go and I have always had a good experience. She would rather have major surgery than see a dentist - and so the dentist was informed about her feelings and knew to do whatever possible to keep her comfortable. The consultation ended up with Dr Bernuy informing us that mom had periodontal gum disease and would need to undergo some intense and frequent teeth cleaning before she could be cleared for hip surgery. So we were advised to cancel the surgery until her teeth/gums were in good shape. A few days later we were back for the first intense cleaning. They fully numbed her gums so she wouldn't feel anything. They were done in the same time it takes for a regular cleaning. They knocked loose a filling and she was scheduled for another appt to replace that filling. Then we saw an oral surgeon to have a couple molars pulled. He said that she did NOT have gum disease and there was no need to have canceled the hip surgery. And even if she did have gum disease - she still could have had the hip surgery along with teeth cleanings. He said that advising people to wait on the surgery is very "old school" and not research based or current. So I am very disheartened that we canceled her surgery and now are awaiting to start the whole process again and also that the office was going to charge her for another filling since their "notes" did not mention that they had knocked it out. Their notes say that my mom had a loose filling at first visit and that the filling was gone at time of cleaning. But that's not what happened. She had her teeth cleaned and in the process the filling was knocked off. My mom reported to me with a bit of dread that the filling was knocked off during the process of cleaning and she needed to come back again to have it fixed. And lastly - gum disease is marked with red swollen gums - which she has none. (As told by oral surgeon) We will not be returning here. read more
