Actually I will unfortunately no longer be able to go back to this dentist because I have recently changed jobs in a way that I am no longer in the Statesville area. This isn't at all out of frustration or not being happy with them. In fact Dr. Dirig, his wife and staff have provided my best dentist experience in memory. They're very intimate with their patients and make it a truly personal experience. Dr. Dirig in particular loves to talk and really get to know the clientele on a personal level. Here you will feel like family or at least a close friend. I had several cosmetic level improvements done while here. Notably the changing of all of my metal fillings to ceramic/composite so they now match my teeth. I don't look like a 90s kid anymore! Here they will almost consider such a thing to "go without saying". Of course they will certainly ask if you want it done while trying to convince you of course that it's the best option. (More money for them so why not.) But the fact that they take notice of the smaller/less obvious things is certainly a benefit. Since starting to come here my teeth have never been in better shape. His rates are in line with the work being done. He and his staff are pleasant and courteous. Few people like going to the dentist, but he does make it as enjoyable as it can be under the circumstances. The thing i admire most is that he has never tried to up sell me anything, quite the opposite. If he knows a filling is eventually going to need a crown, as long as there is no risk of it causing other issues, he will wait until the filling becomes an issue, rather than push for a crown immediately. To me his honesty and professionalism are his best assets. You wont go wrong choosing Dr. Dirig.

Then more lies about my insurance and with their computer system. I had to call my insurance after waiting a month to find out they never submitted anything for my dentures and was told it only takes 5 working days for insurance to approve the procedure. The first lie was in the office from the dental assistant the second was when I phoned after waiting 2 weeks and was told insurance kicked it back for more information the third after waiting a month was that they were having an issue with their computer system getting through to my insurance company. I helped build your business as a patient when you were starting out. If you no longer wanted me as a patient because I have Medicaid you should've told me up front. I had to call the Medicaid and find out for myself. And if there were problems with your computer system you should've had the courtesy of calling me to explain why it was taking so long and not leaving me in the dark. Very unprofessional! Shame on you! My initial visit for X-rays and supposedly a request for insurance approval was on January 9th 2025 I'm still waiting to hear from them! As with all medical care today, it's all about how much does your insurance pay and screw the patient.

Upon your first visit he likes to do an hour long consultation. He went over every single tooth in my mouth and spoke with the hygienist about it who took detailed notes. He also checked for oral cancer, my thyroid, my bite and several other things that no dentist has ever even seemed concerned about. I cannot recommend a better dentist. Hands-down he cares, he's knowledgeable and does his job well. You will not regret going to him. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable.
