We have been stopping at this Bass Pro for years when in the area to see the alligators and to come in and see the fish. This time the alligators are much smaller than the ones they had the last time so I'm Assuming the big guys were moved off somewhere and replaced w the smaller ones. It's fun to watch them feed the fish if you stop in during feeding times. We don't typically come here to shop but they do have a good selection of all things outdoors. No one approached me as I walked in and around. I guess I do not look like the typical clientele that comes in. They seem to have a bit of everything for that outdoorsy type of person that loves the smell of pine in the morning. Many taxidermized animals decorated the area. A tank of native fish was near the center of the store. A water feature was in front of the store with several small alligators inside. Evidently you can wrestle one for the low price of $2.00. I've worked retail for a while and I know how hard it is to keep a store neat and tidy. This store was the absolute cleanest, neatest, most organized store I have ever been in. How are all the clothes folded and still on hangers? How is the floor spotless? We walked through the entire store and everything was so neat. I was greeted several times by all employees that made sure I didn't need help. Phenomenal. There truly are some hardworking employees that have ethic and pride in the job they do. This was a really nice Bass Pro Shops. There were lots of good deals to be had by all. Good, friendly customer service. I ended up purchasing a few things at a reasonable price. The only issue I had was the second floor constant movement. I get motion sick really easy and boy could I feel it moving. Me and the wife went on a mini get-a-way We stayed at a motel next door to bass pro . We went walking around because we didn't go to just gamble the whole time so went shopping and looking around we went inside bass pro . We walked around looked at ton of stuff bought a couple small items and looked at some sunglasses the wife has been looking for since lost her other pair but haven't found the ones she liked . Well next morning she decided she wanted the pair we looked at . So we went back in and looked at the pair set out to try on . Well there was no one around so opened the drawer below that they store all the new ones in boxes and found pair she wanted. Well a lady came up yelling Excuse me Excuse me making a scene . Told us we can't open draw if we needed help we should ask and that's Not the way things are done this lady was so rude . I've never seen an outdoor shop like this before...Although it's fair to say I haven't been to many outdoor shops :) In comparison to REI's back in Los Angeles, this place trumps it. Pulling up to its parking lot I was shocked at how big it was, and had no idea what I was in store for when I went inside. This place is MASSIVE. 2 stories...Giant aquarium, alligators kept outside to view, Sonic Burger and Fudge stand inside, and endless amounts of equipment, clothing, and gear. Found everything from sunglasses to gear to keep me cool in the Louisiana humidity and sunlight, and stopped by and grabbed some vanilla fudge all in the same trip. Being stuck in Shreveport by choice I choose to explore my shopping options in a city that didn't really have that much to do.The Boosier side is more built up but Shreveport could use a new stylist.I decided I'd come to Bass Pro and see why this store was the S*it! When I stepped in I noticed it was a lot of Duck Dynasty types.Thick country hillbilly men some nice enough looking to deserve a second glance(reminded me of my truck driving days..lol.!It didn't matter since I was wearing my pajama pants with a rag on my head and no one was bothered by anyones apparence.It was one of those come as you are stores. This store has two levels with the bottom focusing on clothes and souvenirs and hunting gear.The real hunting gear and survival items were upstairs.All along with bar b que's and camping gear.They had way more than you could think of or even need! The original plan was to come in to look but the other survival items peaked my interest.The prices weren't cheap so don't expect any favors coming from this store.I liked the knives and the camping gear the best.Since I live in Los Angeles where it doesn't rain I knew I had to get some rain gear to protect myself . I ended up buying a rain jacket for $35 and Frogg Legg pants(rain pants) for $15.(im sure ill stand out with those but at least ill be dry.I also bought them big so they'll be able to fit over my regular pants. The jacket and pants were nice but I really haven't had time to test them out in the rain since Ive been in rental cars for the last 2 weeks.This purchase made me want to get more and more.I wanted to buy a knife but thought that might be a bit too much considering that'll be hard to explain to the police why I had to defend myself with a deer knife on the streets of Los Angeles! I had a great time despite what I thought I would.A bit too pricy so I don't think ill be ordering really anything from their websites.I will however hit up the Army surplus store when I get back to L.A and see what fun items I can come up on. read more

My husband and I were visiting Bossier City and decided to stop in at Bass Pro Shops. While my husband was looking at some fishing rods, an older white haired salesman walked up to my husband. The salesman looked at my husband and said "Can I help you?" My husband replied "I am just browsing" The salesman then replied "Well we are closed!" I thought this was strange because there was no announcement over the loud speaker. I couldn't get over how rude he was. I put down the merchandise that I had planned on buying and walked out with my husband. The store hours on the door state the store closes at 10. I didn't realize until I got to our hotel that it was only 9 PM when we got to our hotel. I have never been treated so rudely and will never be back. I had a rod that broke a couple of months ago and haven't been in to exchange it and lost the receipt and they couldn't find it on my card so what they did is let me exchange it for the lowest price it has sold for in the last 90 days and I lost $20 on it because I paid $99.97 for it, but it's my fault I lost receipt. Very friendly customer service! Thank you Marissa and thank you for the gentleman that helped me with my rod exchange and additional rod purchase! When I asked the woman at the entrance of the area to see Santa she brushed off my question about appointments. The Santa was not engaging at all. He didn't even speak to my 3 year old. This place is more worried about taking your money out of your pockets than ANYTHING else. The employees are clueless about the products that they are even selling. A few years ago, the people working here were VERY knowledgeable about the products they were selling, almost like a professional I would say. But now its COMPLETELY different. It's like the crew they have now is absolutely CLUELESS. Even the managers. I had to deal with one manager his name was Don I believe, he tried at least, but he knows absolutely nothing about the guns they are selling. He is just as clueless as the dumbasses at the counter. Bottom line, this store has gone to hell in the last few years. All the gun "experts" are gone and there's nothing but dumb young kids working there who text on their phones every chance they get. I'd rather give my business to Academy. They don't know anything either, but at least their gun prices are a LOT cheaper!! Also, good luck finding a parking spot on a Saturday. This store has everything in it. Sometimes you can get food here that they give away a samples. You can always come in and take a look at the big fish tank they have located in the center of the store where you can actually see live fish some around. Button the entire place is surrounded buy stuffed animals that are beautiful and Majestic. The building is absolutely gigantic and has many many departments ranging from knives and guns to gear and Tents. This is definitely the place to come for any of your outdoor needs that you and your family might Ever Need. I always love coming in here just to look around and see what kind of things they have in the world of the outdoors. I always try to go fishing at least once or twice a year and this is always the place I come to get everything I need for my fishing gear. Every time that I purchase from here I know that I'm getting a high-quality item at a great price. I fish for my high school and they are one of our sponsors so I get a discount on all bass pro fishing products which helps me out a lot . They have really good service there and there is usually not a wait unless you go in the middle of the day. Their workers are respectful people and will help you in anyway they can. They have all kinds of outdoor merchandise such as hunting products like deer cameras, waders, guns, bullets, deer stands,etc. they also have a lot of fishing stuff like fishing rods and reels and also lots of baits . And also camping materials like tents, grills, heaters, etc.. If you like anything that has to do with the outdoors this would be a great store for you. read more
