We had a great experience at Bass Pro Wahlburgers! It wasn't very busy, so service was quick. We ordered the caesar salad, fried chicken sandwich with fries, and fried pickles. Outstanding place to visit for the afternoon. It's humongous inside parking is free they even have valet. Three different levels they have a large Big Cypress Lodge you can stay in. Highly, highly recommend it stayed there over the weekend loved it absolutely amazing. Of course as Bass Pro always has their water effects this one is very extensive and done extremely well. I have been to a few of these Bass Pro Shops and this one has to be the best one yet. It's so huge inside with everything you can think possible for the outdoors. I've never seen so many different boats and fishing gear in my life in one spot. You can definitely make a day of it in this place. There's plenty of restaurants to eat at and so much to look at. We have eaten here 3 times to give it a chance and the restaurant is way over priced for the quality of the food served. This is the place that was built to two-thirds scale of the Great Pyramid of Giza, so it's supposed to generate "wow!" reaction. Even after its evolution from sports area to indoor shopping venue, it still kind of works its magic. This location is very nice. However, when I went, I encountered a third-party called Bluegreen Vacations. I feel that I was pretty much scammed into this amazing deal that they made it sound. Once I tried to book a reservation I faced many red flags. I am very disappointed that they allow this type of third-party to go to their location and entice people to book with them. I attempted to cancel with them, but of course I wasn't able to. I am now posting this to try to help someone else, and no matter how good they make it sound, or if you see them anywhere, do not fall for their words because once you try to get your reservation, you will see that everything they had said was untrue and only to benefit them. read more

What a cool experience! I was visiting from Atlanta and rolled my eyes when my host wanted to go to bass pro shop just to look around. I was very surprised by the unusual building which I later learned the history about. I enjoyed walking around and even did some shopping. Cons @the one located sycamore view slow and unfriendly cashiers. It's horrible and leadership at the store needs to address these concerns. A week before Christmas and only 2 cashiers open lined back into the clothing session. I saw a head cashier walking around gossiping. FYI... as all majors cities please be sure to lock up your valuables and do not leave anything in view. I have been to both locations and feel very safe. read more

I was on my way to Louisiana after trying out Central BBQ when I spot this curious pyramid-looking structure. I took a little detour to check it out and it turns out to be a Bass Pro Shop? I was very intrigued and confused, it looked so nice I thought it was an outdoor resort of some sort. I nearly turned back out when I see a few "shopping" carts and finally got me the confidence to walk in. I was completely, utterly blown away with how epic this place was. There was the gore Cypress built into the store and the space is akin of a theme park or a high end casino rather than an outdoor store. I continued exploring until I started seeing real animals inside the store and I had to take a minute to process everything. I came with my niece and we were very lucky to run into Warren. The gentleman was very enthusiastic about his job, and he was proud of the store. I expected him to answer a few questions at most but he took his time to really emerge us into the store. Mind you we came 30 minutes before closing and he never one rushed us. So let me put this in perspective. This Bass Pro Shop actually have live alligators, a mini aquarium, a shooting range, a bowling alley on top of a restaurant, a hotel with governor and presidential suite up to $5000 a night and dig this, the world's highest free falling elevator that takes you to the top of the pyramid and straight outside to see the entire view across the Mississippi River to Arkansas. Warren introduced me to some of the workers here and they are all very welcoming. I also got the chance to meet Mick and Andrew upstairs in the hunting and pistol department. These guys are great to talk to and hang out. I forgot for awhile that they were doing their jobs, they really made me feel very comfortable there. Mick offered to take our pictures for memory sake and we ran into Andrew as he was locking up the pistol. He let me check some of the guns out as he's locking them up and gave some very cool tips for the range. In all, this was one of the most excellent experience I've had anywhere. If you are visiting Memphis, TN, just book a night here and enjoy your life away. One of the best stores in the world and a big shout out to everyone I met there, especially Warren. I will be back and I will bring many people with me, this place is meant to be shared. I would not be surprised if this becomes one of Memphis's biggest attractions. read more

Absolutely impossible to find anyone that cares to help you find anything. Amazingly, they stay open. The thing is they have a lot of items that I want to buy, so I keep going back, but almost every time there is no one there to help you. You do see staff as you leave.....usually talking to each other. Today I wanted a fly Rod and reel which they had. The reels locked up in the cabinet. No one there! I asked someone, no one came. There was another customer waiting when I arrived. I also wanted two ultra lites and some lures. I just left again. Maybe this time I will learn but I am trying to support local business not on line business. They make it almost impossible. Okay, first let me preface this review by saying I am not that outdoorsy of a woman. I certainly don't hunt, and have only been known to fish on rare occasions. But I have two very outdoorsy sons who absolutely love going to the Bass Pro Shop. And yesterday, one of my sons just had to go and check out guns. After all, it's almost hunting season. :) Well, I want to give kudos to the great customer service we received. We were greeted right away when we walked in, and in each department we ventured into, we were asked how we could be helped. The man working the gun counter was especially nice and really helped my son by letting him take out and fiddle around with several different guns, without losing patience. And he was knowledgeable. He explained the various features of each gun my son was interested in. They had a great selection of not only guns, but all sorts of gear for just about any outdoor activity you might be into. I am constantly impressed by the cleanliness, staff, and customer service at Bass Pro Shops in Memphis. From what I understand, this is one of the smallest stores within the company, and yet they are one of the highest rated. I am not a hunter or fisher, but I do shoot, and I go there to buy womanly staples like Columbia, North Face, and bird food for my feeders. They also have an excellent selection of Lodge cast iron cookware (buy pre-seasoned) in the camping department. Every good southern woman should have one beloved piece of cast-iron! The service here is very friendly, and usually plentiful (at night they seem to have a thinner staff). Check out Tracker boats and ATVs while you're there, and take your kids to look at the big fish tank. Often you can catch them feeding the native fish and demonstrating lures (no hooks!). I also have to comment on how cute the green-shirted hunting department staff is. Fuzzy beards you can just picture sitting in a duck blind, weathered hands; these are manly men. They really know their guns, scopes, binoculars, & bows. Ask advice, and before you go, please remember that there has been a nationwide run on guns since the school and movie theater shootings spurred a presidential response, so certain items may not be available as the gun manufacturers are struggling to keep up with production requirements. You will fill out paperwork (maybe on a computer screen) when applying to purchase a gun, which takes some time if there is a line, but it is federal law, so be patient. In the winter, beginning in November, do not miss Santa's Wonderland! This is the best free Santa in town, and he comes with a free photo, a different craft each week, toys to try, kiddie shooting lanes, RC cars, great gift ideas, and wintry snacks like fudge and spiced nuts scent the whole front of the store with sweet, spicy, and chocolaty smells leaving you in the best mood for shopping. You can even bring your dog, year-round as well as to visit Santa! One final tip: Uncle Buck's ham jerky. Just do it. It's like a whole southern breakfast in one bite. read more

I can find outdoor clothes and equipment online for way cheaper. Children's clothes on the Clearance rack were $15-25 each! Santa's wonderland is a bust. No arts and crafts, only one arrow at the shooting gallery (ducks) and only one of the guns works. All of the RC cars also not operational. The pay to play shooting arcade was up and running though. read more

Not good!! I felt sorry for the staff. None of the food was good and we tried about everything looking for something to be positive about. They bobbled the reservation for our large group. It took a very long time to get the food, the bar was understaffed so they lost a lot of opportunity to provide drinks. In the end it's a failure of leadership and the owners to make this a priority and not the staff that was doing all it could to make it as good as they could with what they had. I love Bass Pro Shop and Cabbalas but if your not going to be good at something just don't do it! If you want to have a restaurant make it great or pack it in! I wants to like it and have a good experience and it just didn't happen. read more

Heads up locals of Memphis...I got my truck broken into at BASS PRO SHOP on Dec 22.2018. I had it valet since I was staying at the Big Cypress Lodge located in the Bass Pro. I came out the next day to find my truck had been gone through. I immeadietly reported to the valet and was told their insurance would replace all. Stolen was a SOG Bowie Fixed blade SB1T-L also my sons BEATS SOLO3 WIRELESS ON EAR HEADPHONES were broken in two. Omar the valet manager told me they would file a claim and it would be 7-10 days and ill have my replacements. I had to recall them on 1-22-19 to check up on status and spoke with Rhonda ....didnt know anything about it...i called corp at 417-873-5000, they told me it was memphis problem and they dont handle that. Re called again 2-8-2019 sinco no one called me back and spoke agaun with Omar who said he didnt know i was not taken care of. Josh Gilliam is the manager and he has not once reached out to me. So just heads up if you want your wrapon/knife or any other hunting item to be stolen be sure to park at Bass Pro Shop in Memphis TN. BTW this is the second time people have been broken into at Bass Pro Shop ,,,,they even have Memphis Police Department running their security and have uniformed cops on the property. Do not purchase anything at Bass Pro if you think you might need to return it. I bought my son 2 gifts from there for Christmas. The boxes were never opened and I had my receipt. The First Lady at customer service said, "we don't return anything over 60 days". Let me ask my manager if there is an exception. The manager on duty, Elizabeth looked at the receipt and said, "we don't return anything more than 30 days". I said wait, the customer service lady said 60 now you saw 30. Elizabeth said it is at our discretion if we accept the merchandise back. There was no return policy printed on my receipt. Now, it's whatever mood customer service people want to do. My family and I love BPS and really enjoy their stores. I have been to their headquarters in MO and always make sure to hit one up if I happen to pass one while traveling. Unfortunately I had a really bad experience recently at the Memphis location. I prepaid/ordered a shotgun and waited over SIX MONTHS. I talked with 6 different managers who said they would check on it and call me back. Only ONE actually returned my call who told me to call back after Christmas. I did and still no luck. So I went up there the other day and they had the gun with a different barrel length. I asked them to hold it for me till Monday, when the manager would be back from vacation, and that I might consider it if they couldn't find my order. I waited till 8pm Monday before I gave up on them calling back. I was told they had sold my original gun that I ordered and that they had no idea when another would be in. I mentioned the one on hold and that I would be interested in that one. To my amazement they had sold it as well. I am now waiting for corporate to call me back to see if they are more helpful. If all you are doing is walking through the line to a register you should be good. If you need them to do anything more at this store I would think twice before doing business. They get 2-stars instead of one because of an associate named Cody who went above and beyond to try an help me. read more

Marcella is the BOMB DIGGITY. We were wandering around, a little lost, and stopped by the sky view elevator to ask Marcella a few questions. She was so incredibly helpful and friendly. I actually spent the bulk of my time in the store, talking with her. She was so knowledgeable about the pyramid, the store, and the history of it all. I have been coming here to this store for what seems like twenty years now. I vividly remember shopping the wal-mart before bass pro and colonial stepped in. It wasn't a big wal-mart by today's standards, but it was average for the time. I don't know why bass pro chose this location or chose to only occupy part of the building because they have tried many times to buy space from colonial hardware. This store was really cool when it opened. It still is, but it hasn't changed any. Everything's exactly the same. Even wal-Mart changes stuff around from time to time. Well, I won't let that or the awesomeness of the pyramid cloud my judgement. I've really enjoyed the camping department, the cooking, the fishing, the ammo, this was my redneck get-a-way. Ive found a few good deals, but then again, I've found some better deals elsewhere. The Christmas is cool and we came here for Santa pictures. I would have to estimate about 50 to 100 trips here. I've bought and returned things, just about everything you could think of. I've even skinny dipped in the aquarium. The employees were complaining that I was splashing too much water. Yes, I do have some memories here. Today's trip was for a power inverter like the one I bought 10 years ago. Like the one that blew up after only 10 years. I found it on the website but could not find it in the store. From the time I entered, I was offered help by 3 different people. When I found the inverters, I didn't see the one I wanted so I asked another guy who was in the marine isle next to me and he said sorry, that's all we have. When I described what I wanted he said he didn't know where I could get one, but he suggested Lowe's. I saw it on the website so I took my chances by driving to the pyramid and bought it. It was dead out of the box, so looks like I'll be going back to the pyramid now. Dude really should have put some effort into it by checking the pyramid, offering to order it or something, but he recommended Lowe's!!! Great place to visit and shop but the restaurant at the top is lack luster . The cost to go up the elevator is high enough but its compted on you dinner order as long as you order an entree. They start at 22 bucks and go from there. I ordered the grilled chicken with potatos and steamed veggies . What i got was one grilled chicken breast , a handful of old shriveled potatos and 3 slices of carrots . All for 28 bucks . You may ask why didnt i say something then ? This is a great store, almost a destination becasue of all it offers. If you are an outdoors type this is the store for you. The kids love to come here and see the fish tanks and at Christmas they offer a play area just for kids complete with free pictures with Santa Clause.
