We came in for the free kids fishing event that they had going on this past weekend. Online it said that they started at 10 AM but when we arrived one of the people told us, it didn't start until 11and that we would be meeting on the other side of the building. We walked around the store for a while until it finally got closer to time. We walked out there and It wasn't too bad at first we got signed up and we noticed it was a little unorganized. More people started to show up and it was hot out. Another issue was where they had us for fishing, it was kind of grassy and the families were kind of close together with no directions. It became hard to get the line out for the littles. I appreciate a free event, especially to get the kids an experience. Just wish it was a little bit more organized maybe with an online sign-up would have helped. read more

We were fortunate to find that our St Augustine location had an entire "North Pole" set up and knew to look at the one in Tampa too- and yes, they had games, crafts and Santa, ready for photos! No sunglasses under $59. Kind of surprised by that seeing it has all things fishing. But apparently they only let Sunglass Hut sell the glasses. They should offer a cheap pair for fishermen or sailors who just need a quick pair. But the rest of the store was amazing. Had a nice visit. Plenty of parking. Good inventory. First I am an avid fisherman/person and Bass Pro Shop is one of my favorite stores. So this is a hard review to write. I purchase a Plano 7771 tackle box less than a year ago. Recently, I noticed that the top (plastic cover) started to warp. Now it won't close at all and this makes the top shelf unusable because everything in the top will fall out when accessing the shelf below. I thought no problem I'll go to Bass Pro Shop and they will stand behind there items that they sell. Nope, I was told that there is a 60 day return policy (by Plano) and that Bass Pro Shop would do nothing in either return or replace. The cost of the tackle box was approximately $100. The salesperson said that she understood that there should be some compensation but not from BPS. Can someone explain to me why a tackle box, that spends days in the sun should warp. read more

Been to Bass Pro Shops a few times for Xmas Pics and Easter Pics. The reservation system is quite easy online and when you get there you do not have to wait too long. They take one free pic. You can take them on your phone as well and they have pic packages you can buy from if you want. The Santa set up is festive and nice and the Easter Set up is simple but still thoughtful. So happy we can go here and get pics with our furbaby Mocha Coconut and enjoy them for years to come. read more

Placed an order and came to pick up and they could not find all of it. They said they refunded the shirt and can not find one item. Now running around and no one seems to know where it is. I love walking into Bass Pro Shops. I'm not a fisherman, hunter or any kind of sports person, I despise being outdoors for long. But the decor inside and out of their buildings is fascinating from the animal tracks imprinted along the cement walkways to the pond with fake ducks and the boats parked in the doorways those touches are creative enough to make visits seem adventurous. But i come for the novelties specifically their old fashioned candy. They carry Claeys hard candies in many flavors which is a bit hard to find elsewhere. My two stars is for unfriendly service. The employees here are not friendly to everyone, only to those they are familiar with as in frequent patrons or maybe their friends? The cashier checking me out never looked at me once, looking around instead and throwing comments at me. No greeting, no welcome, no thank you for spending your money with us. I felt very dismissed. Due to my employment I have a protected address and therefore have a personal mailbox on my govt issued ID. They would not even run my application through the ATF to purchase a new firearm because I did not have a "brick and morter" address. Even though this ID was issued BY THE GOVT. The ATF has approved my purchases many times in the past from other stores using the address shown on my ID. Basspro Tampa is NOT LEO friendly. Was going to buy a chip for a Garman depth finder because they sold me the wrong one in the first place I was taking a hit on that one. Had a bs day n i did the one thing i like doing to make my frown turn into a smile. I went to bass pro!! I totally forgot they go all out on the xmas exhibition! they had toys for the kiddos to play with. The cabin making kit was so fun! I saw kids in line to shoot nerf bow n arrows at ducks and another one for the bb rifle. I chatted the nice lady by the rifle stand up. We shared stories about archery n childhood memories. I chatted up the lovely ladies at the end of the line for the big man himself! Santa clause!! So i found out we get a free 5x7!!! Whuuuut!? Ima try to get my fam to show up i really want it!! { mayor heads up! You gotta go online n sign up for it first!} I took a stroll over to their new lineup of E-bikes. These beautiful bikes are expensive as hell but i met a few gentlemen that own it and tell me to sell my E-skateboards n just get one! They are big n bulky, look like tanks on two wheels. Huge battery supply to. The type of bike u wouldn't go out without a gun on ya to. They look expensive just staring at em. I cried at the kayak collection. I love to go to BPS whenever I visit another city, mostly for the taxidermy and their giant aquariums. I expected an exceptional tank here in Tampa, but found it less exciting than most other locations. None the less, I enjoyed the array of mounts, and like most BPS, they have a great selection of sporting goods. Will never purchase a firearm from this business again. No one there listens or understands plain English. I bought a fire arm and after the 3 day waiting period they still refused to give me the firearm bc of the county ordinance . While I agree there is an ordinance , it plainly states that law enforcement is exempt from the 5 day waiting period. Counter sales person, "compliance manager " , manager , and someone called a "gun vault expert" all concluded that even tho I had full credentials and came in with my badge , I still had to wait the 5 days. This place is the Disney for the outdoorsman! They even have theme park turnstiles as you walk in, although I'm not sure why?? The store is huge and very well organized. If you are into fishing, hunting, camping, archery, or in need of clothes for any of those sports this is the place. They seem well stocked in each of these particular sections. They also sell men and women's clothing. I also saw a small shoe dept. selling some sandals, sneakers and boots. There was a interesting snack area where they sold all kinds of candies and food items. There is also a restaurant at this store which I haven't been to yet. NO ONE TREATS ME THAT WAY!! I was at Bass Pro in Tampa, FL with my family on December 26, 2023. We were standing there talking and I turned to leave and all of a sudden I tripped backwards over a wooden corner sticking out from under the display behind my ankles to calves. I tried to stop my fall with my right hand but there was nothing there to grab and landed on my right wrist then my back. Fortunately, the end result was a very bad sprained wrist and a lot of bruising. It could've been way worse. There were 2 employees that immediately came over when they saw me fall and asked if I was ok and one stated I needed to fill out accident report. I was a General Manager for many years so I know this is protocol. So we waited. This is where I became a very dissatisfied and disappointed customer! Two men approached. First one said his name was Joe Lancaster. Then to our surprise and I quote he said "What are you looking to get out of this?" I actually said excuse me and he repeated it again. I let him know I was extremely offended that he would speak to me like that!! How dare he?! No one treat me that way!! Luckily my daughters have ALL of this on video. He was the most rude (I don't know his title it doesn't even say on his business card) disrespectful person especially acting like I'm out to sue the store for money and I was faking the fall. Really?? When he could care less that I was standing there in pain and my hand was very swollen. The 2nd man I had to ask who he was. Honestly, he stood back so far I could barely hear him speak so I don't know who he was at all?? He never gave me a business card. Wonder why?? In other words someone needs to check on this store because if someone does fall and gets severely injured. These two men will be no help!! Their lack of concern was unbelievable. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! I ordered a revolver online, to be shipped to the Tampa location. I received notification 3 days later that it had arrived and I could pick it up. I got in line behind two other guys at 1:39 PM. After 45 minutes the line hadn't moved. I jumped out of line and found another employee who took my ID, pulled the revolver from the storage room and had me confirm the serial number. He put the revolver and my ID on the back shelf and asked me to wait in the seating area. They finally called my name after another 1:30 minutes. They then asked me to fill out the ATF form so they run a background check... no clue what they've been doing with my ID for the past 1:30 while the revolver sat on the counter.. I notified them 30 minutes later that it had been approved .... (They give you an ATF website to keep checking)...he said "okay we'll be right with you"... 20 minutes later I lost my mains am said "I've been here now for 3:15 to pick up an online order land I've got to leave in 5 minutes to be able to get my kid for daycare"... he said "5 minutes? Not gonna happen" I placed the order online & paid online... I have a concealed carry which should make the transaction simpler. At the end of the day, I was there 3 hours and 15 minutes and will have to return tomorrow because these clowns can't stop chatting about their personal lives and process what should be a simple transaction read more

This is quite possibly one of the largest Bass Pro locations I've been to so far, and I've visited several! The first thing I noticed was the landscaping, which it's always slightly different at each location, but this one welcomed great vibes. I could stand outside staring at the little river all day! It sort of reminds me of the Savannah, Georgia location. The store is set up like most other locations, but the design is always slightly different on the inside as well. I felt like there was an INSANE amount of fishing tackle at this location- almost to where you'd spend hours looking for what you need if there weren't any available associates to help you out! We spent a total of two hours this visit, and I personally still didn't get to even visit the hunting section or the women's apparel! So if you're like me, and you take a while to look... Be sure you have several hours to spare if you want to shop it all! read more

Even though I am no longer an avid outdoorswoman like I used to be, I am still like a kid in a candy store when I visit this store. It's the attention to detail. There is just so much to see here. Starting with the pretty street lamps in the parking lot, to the beautiful manmade creek out front with critter prints in the sidewalk, the gorgeous fireplace in the lobby and the critter prints in the floor and wildlife scenes all over the store. Even the bathrooms are lovely and clean. All the staff are friendly and seem to enjoy working there.I took a friend, who had never been to a Bass Pro Shop and he was absolutely giddy. I have only been to the one in Ft Lauderdale a few times. I was doubly impressed how nice this one is. So many innovative products. A few days prior I had signed up for the Club and ordered items for curbside pickup. It was quick, easy and convenient. The guy who delivered my items was very polite and prompt with my order.I am not one who likes to go shopping, but honestly I do not mind shopping here. I have been to the biggest Bass Pro Shop in U.S. at Springfield Missouri with 500,000 square feet. I have seen the best of Pro Shop there. In comparison, this is a small one but it has the best need for outdoor activities. They are selling the larger item such as boat to waders. Any kind of fishing needs, they have the largest selection. They also have hunting, clothing, camping, shoe section. I always get exciting about pro shop is the fresh water fish tank. The fish here is a bit tiny compare to other pro shop. The reason behind is they need to have room to grow. Today is the day after the opening and they already run out the size of the waders I want. I am buying this wader for bridge inspection when I need to walk to shallow water bridge. I have to order online. I see they display better recreation boat in Missouri store and they are cheaper there. The Tahoe recreation boat here does not have nice color design. Not as attractive as other store. (I am not talking about fishing boat). The hunting section is interesting. You can see gun display for hunting. You also can find the chair strap to tree trunk high up for bow and arrows hunting. Overall I like this store. Same as all the Pro Shop, they have a restaurant section for the food. I was told by the server is an hour and 40 minutes wait at 6:30. We did not try it yet. The salt water tank is still under pH balance. No Fish. I will be back to try the restaurant later. read more

I visited the Bass Pro Shop in Tampa the other day. Very nice place. I was looking at the fishing and boating products. Nice selection and prices were reasonable. I shop various places for fishing gear. Local and National shops. Overall my experience with Bass Pro was positive. I have ordered online in the past from Bass Pros and this was first time visiting an actual store. I've been to their Cabela stores as well. I will still shop at the local fishing and bait/tackle stores and as well as Bass Pro and Dick's Sporting Goods. I like to give everyone a piece of my money. LOL read more

HOLY CRAP! This store is HUGE! I wasn't sure what to expect, but I'd heard on the radio that they were doing some special things for the 'Holiday Season' (Shouldn't start until after Thanksgiving, but I digress) There was a large area set aside for children to met Santa, with remote controlled vehicles, a talking reindeer as well as other things to keep the little ones occupied. If you need something for hunting, fishing or guns, you will find it here. Including a neat live fish area. However the taxidermy area really made my skin crawl. Its not my thing. I DID like the selection of Hot Sauces and gift items, and will probably visit again just to pick up some christmas hot sauces. read more

I normally do not like to complain about things in general but, what in the world is going on at Bass Pro Shops Tampa? Almost four hours to purchase a firearm and that's with a concealed carry license! There is no semblance of a line, organization on how customers are tended to and the employees behind the counter ignore you! The employees move slower than molasses and very unresponsive! The background check took less time than it took for an employee to acknowledge the customer, process the initial paperwork and complete the sale... I was tempted to just cancel the purchase and get a refund just to see how much longer the geriatrics were going to take to figure that out! I would recommend adopting the Chic-Fil-A method / process on handling the firearms sales at the Tampa store... better yet, hire more efficient employees! read more

So when I had to get a gift for someone, who shall remain nameless I was way over my head but the amazing staff guided me and helped me pick the perfect gift. They explained each item to me and explained it again when I said I have no idea what you are talking about. The whole store is so huge you can get lost in it.
