Hunter and Michael were super friendly (exchanged some killer Dad jokes lol) , answered all our questions and make the in/out docking process a breeze. They were quite generous with our rental time, and even offered us a free cooler with ice (next time!). Even though it was just the two of us, we were so thankful to have upgraded to the 8 person covered boat because it was a balmy July day and the roominess and shade were perfect. So happy with our experience with eBoats! We rented for 1.5 hours to celebrate my nephew's birthday and had the best time. We brought pizza, sushi, champagne, decorations, and enjoyed sailing down the river with relaxing music playing in the background. There were six of us, and we booked the largest boat. Sailing through Tampa's waterways, where palm trees meet twinkling lights! My family books our annual family boat ride with eboats every year just before Christmas, and we look at holiday lights, drink hot cocoa and sing Christmas carols. The eboats team provides such a fantastic experience every year, for the clean and welcoming boats they provide to their sweet interactions with my little niece. This year in particular, we had a last minute scheduling issue with our family member who was going to drive the boat, and even though we only called the day before about this scheduling issue, their team was incredibly helpful and happily accommodated a small shift to our reservation time even on a fully-booked night. They always show they care, and we so appreciate them. Happy Holidays to the eboats team! This year, our reservation (which we originally set up around two months prior) fell on the same night as the Holiday Lighted Boat Parade, and we decided to show up in our Christmas best, decking out our eboat out in a dazzling light spectacle and joining the sea of lights at the most wonderful time of the year! While entertaining some out of town friends, debating what to do that is touristy and not an amusement part. Tampa's "Bay" was the way to go and rent an eBoat. I made a reservation about a week in advance and showed up on time. We were instructed with the map and all the dos and don'ts of the boat. The designated captain of the boat has to be over 25 years old. We opted for the two hour rental and it was such a lovely experience. We went by Davis Island and seen all the beautiful houses as well as Derek Jeter's old home. After that, baited through the downtown area passing UT and the Curtis Dixon Park. This will be a memory for the kids and had a blast. read more

EBoats Tampa is an awesome company. They have amazing customer service and relation, great pricing (including military discount and week day deals), and overall exciting experience. Typically EBoats allows 12 people on one boat, but because of COVID and to respect CDC guidelines they have limited to a maximum of 10 people. 10 is the perfect max number, in my opinion. For my birthday, my 9 friends and I spent four hours just cruising the hillsborough river. You can hire a driver for a fee or be your own captain as we did. They offer a short test run to make sure you can dock, accelerate, and reverse and then you're off. My friends and I literally had a "kickback" on a boat. You are allowed food and drinks on the boat, you can stop and dock at many restaurants on the river, ie armature works, american social, and many more. We enjoyed our mimosas, beer, and cheese and charcuterie board and also stopped at AMSO on the way back. We booked the boat with the sun deck, which I immediately thought was a mistake after realizing how hot it was but it was nice to switch seats, and stand up, and be able to move around. Also as the sun went down it was even more of a great idea, we also stored a bit of our personals on the sun deck. Eboat provides cleaning and sanitation. If you ask, they will provide a cooler with ice. The boats have speakers with USB. We did use our own speaker for better quality but once it died we were still satisfied with the boat speakers. read more

Booking is simple and easy and the staff is great at educating you on where to go as well as making recommendations on where to stop. If you've drove a boat before it's simple. The hardest part is docking. Both times we have cruised up to armature works, went a bit further and turned around. It's perfect to throw some drinks and food on the boat and have a chill afternoon or evening. It's great to have an option with a boat for some shade, especially on hot days!!! This is one of my favorite things to do in Tampa. I love doing the eBOATS with friends and family. You can take it out into the bay alongside Bayshore Blvd, through Channelside, and up the Hillsborough River to Ricks on the River. You can dock it at Ricks or water works to grab a quick bite or drink. The boat has a table and cup holders, and plastic covers to bring down in case if it rains. It is covered, so you'll have shade. There's Bluetooth inside, so you can connect your phone for music. You can bring your own food and drinks, small cooler and have a little picnic in the boat. If another boat flies by you, be prepared for the boat to sway a bit more until the waves die out. It'll be helpful to have someone who knows how to navigate through that should it happen, so it doesn't feel like you're going to fall out of the boat. It's fine for young kids or even handicapped, the staff will help you board if needed. If you do have young kids, I would just make sure they don't bend over the boat bc the water does feel like it's right there. Just keep them seated. But if you're ever want something to do, esp for your out of town guests, I'd recommend doing this. It's fun! read more

We took a boat out for our twenty year anniversary and it was great seeing Tampa from new views! The staff at eBoats were awesome!! This was a fun and reasonably price way to have an outdoor activity with a family/group of friends. Compared to a lot of other boat companies we looked at a) this had a higher minimum of people (10 vs. a lot of others max was 6) b) could be rented in one hour increments (a lot of others were half day or full day only) and c) didn't require boating experience. There are metered parking/garages in the area, but the eboats are clearly marked at the docks, and the employees were all set up for us. Reserving online was easy. They have mandatory life jackets for kids and ones on board for adults as needed. The boats are electric and go only 1 speed (8 mph) so they are really easy to operate and no additional fees for gas. They did a great job explaining how to operate so we could switch off who piloted the boat. They advised where we could park the boat and where we had to avoid for shallow waters. There are a lot of seats, the boats are covered from the sun, and there are plastic coverings on the side you can roll up or put down to protect against rain if needed but still be able to see outside. There's a table in the center, so we brought some snacks to enjoy and the boat is slow enough there's no issue about things blowing off. There are some restaurants to dock at, otherwise it's nice to look at all the buildings along the river. It's a very relaxing way to spend a morning or afternoon. I thought a 2 hour block was the perfect amount of time to cruise along and get back in time. The employees help launch the boat and park it, so otherwise keeping it on and steering straight is really easy. In the morning there was barely any boat traffic to worry about either. Also compared to other places, the cost is pretty reasonable especially if you can split the cost. Kids and adults both enjoyed the experience. Definitely worth trying here. read more

We accidentally made the mistake of walking down to their kiosk in person. They told us it must be booked online, so we did. Their website said they had multiple times available, but we had to call to book. As we watched the person who turned us away answer the phone, they proceeded to tell us they did not have any available boats (which we could see many docked).... Great activity on the bay for families looking for something to do for fun. Reserving a boat is a great idea for families that give you an option of driving your own boat with your friends and family. You're allowed to bring food and drinks to enjoy on the boat. They also offer specials for military, etc so check the website first. We reserved a party boat for 2 hours, which was $160. We were given a map of the bay and recommendations of some spots to see and visit. We docked a couple of times at a nearby festival near Armature Works and to eat at Rick's Cafe, which was awesome because we ordered our food to go and ate on the boat. Although this experience was more than I anticipated spending it was worth it. And if you're debating how much time you may need, I think 2 hours is the sweet spot! read more

Just charming. We spent 2 hours cruising around, dining aboard the very manageable eboat with our own potluck dinner. The boat itself is adorable, comfortable, and provides a different experience for those seeking an evening of unconventional fun (especially if you're not already a boat owner). We were fortunate to see an amazing sunset, motor by Jeter's house, and saddle up next to the Gasparilla Music Fest while dusk set in and all of the lights downtown came up. Oh! This is so fun! We rented eboats as a team building event for work and I would recommend it. You can fit about 8 to 10 people per boat as well as a small cooler or two for beverages. Before you launch, the driver will have to take a short course, and then it is off you go up the river or around Davis Islands. We took our boats up the river to Ricks on the River to get a bite to eat and a drink. We also then went back down past some of the beautiful homes on Davis Islands. In addition to the big boats we rented, you can also rent small one or two person mini "speed" boats, kayaks and water bikes. I am sure this is going to be a growing attraction in downtown Tampa because it is on the Riverwalk, right in front of the Sail Pavilion bar and convention center. What a great activity for locals, people visiting and special occasions! We live in the area and wanted to celebrate a big birthday so we rented an eboat for 2 hours and we are so glad we did! I highly recommend a reservation a week in advance if possible as this is a really popular activity. There are a couple of parking garages/options in the area so this spot is super accessible. Once you arrive (15 mins prior to reservation time) you go over how to operate the boat and load on anything you may have brought. We brought a cooler with drinks and snacks to enjoy while on the water. I definitely recommend doing this! The boat is super simple to operate as we have never driven a boat before and found it really easy. They do a loop with you to make sure you feel comfortable and then you are on your own! You can connect your music to the Bluetooth so you can create your own party or relaxing setting. The service is great as far as reservation, setting you up and turn around time in between customers. What a very fun day on the Hillsborough River with a great group of Tampa Yelpers this past Saturday! Our trusty Skipper (Mike S.) found a Groupon deal for discounted boat rentals, and he turned that into an Unofficial Yelp Event. The eBOATS pavilion sits to the side of the Tampa Convention Center, right along the Hillsborough River. After filling out the standard liability disclaimer paperwork, Mike & I were ushered down to the docks for a quick safety briefing, navigational walk-through, and finally a practice session for driving and docking the boats. These little electric boats hold roughly 10 - 12 people, and the boats are stocked with all of the necessary safety equipment including life jackets, paddles, a VHF hand-held radio, navigation lights, and an on-board horn. The boats are equipped with full plastic window enclosures and a canopy top to protect you from the elements. Since it was a gorgeous day, we had the plastic windows rolled up to take advantage of the sunshine and the breezes. We split our group of 16 into two smaller groups of 8, and hopped aboard two of the electric motor boats. As we pulled away from the docks we were facing Jackson's Bistro and the Westin Harbour Island, but then turned upriver to sail past Tampa General Hospital, the Convention Center, the Tampa Riverwalk, Curtis Hixon Park, the Moorish minarets atop Plant Hall at the University of Tampa, the Tampa Waterworks building and the construction of the new Ulele restaurant, and finally to the docks at Rick's on the River where we stopped for lunch. On our trip back down the river we were accompanied by a couple of playful dolphin that were swimming alongside the boat, and they followed us all the way past the Gasparilla Music Festival. My trusty co-pilot, Darcy, was having great fun with the boat's horn, and the crew was ready to make her walk the plank. We knew from our briefing that these electric boats are very quiet, low-speed vehicles with steering similar to a golf cart. Unfortunately one of our boats had all four hamsters running on the treadmill, while the other boat only had one hamster in motion, which led to some comical moments when we considered breaking out the paddles to see if we could catch up to the second boat. The steering was super sensitive, and it took a bit of practice to go straight versus zig-zagging with the current along the river. Hardly major issues, as we all had a very fun time. After about two hours, the USS Minnow and her trusty sidekick, the USS Pokey finally returned to the docks safe and sound. The eBOATS folks provided each boat with a cooler, and Mike S.had beer, wine, sodas, and water aboard, and we could have also packed a picnic lunch if desired. (Where was Kelly K when we needed her?). In our case we drove up to Rick's for a tasty lunch, but I know that other groups pack a meal and enjoy a sunset dinner & wine cruise. According to their website you are able to rent the boats for a block of time and select a course either up the river, or around the harbor area, or you can just purchase individual tickets for one of their pre-scheduled cruises. While I am not the customer that made the reservation, I was lucky enough to spend a day on an Eboat this past Saturday. The boats depart from the docs outside the Sail Pavilion outdoor bar behind the Tampa Bay Convention Center and are rented by the hour. There was a quick driving tutorial/orientation for the boat captains that lasted about fifteen minutes and then we were on our way. The boats are clean, well-cared for, equipped with all necessary gear, and you can bring food or drinks on the boat. All of the boats are covered with a canopy, so we did not have to deal with the harsh sun, but still enjoyed the view. There are so many different businesses, restaurants, parks, and bars that have dock parking--- so we definitely felt like some cool kids cruising up in a boat and getting some dranks. Can't think of one negative thing to say about our experience renting an eBOAT. For my wife's 30th birthday we went out on the boat with 6 of our friends. There was plenty of room, the table in the middle was great for our drinks and cheese plate and the radio with auxiliary made for a fun trip sick to the dock. We rented it for 2 hours which was plenty of time to drive down by David island, back of the river to ULELE and back to the dock. It's a cool experience to see downtown from the river. I was the driver and without ever have really driven a boat, I figured it out pretty quick. It's like driving a golf cart on the water. What an awesome experience. For as long as I've lived her, I've never considered renting a boat, and taking a stroll up the Hillsborough River before. Mainly because I'm a far cry from being a mariner, or someone with any nautical sense. I mean, I can blurt out some random pirate jargon with the best of them, but that doesn't mean I can successfully navigate a vessel on the open waters. Thank goodness there were plenty of recognizable landmarks, or we probably would have accidentally drifted off to Ft. Myers or some crap. Anywho, yesterday was a family and friends outing and this was first on the task list. I've got to tell you, all 10 of us enjoyed it thoroughly. These little electronic boats aren't the swiftest things on the water, but they're definitely appropriate for all the shallow river water and light wake zones on the Boro. We took the boat north up to MLK, and the doubled back to Rick's on the River for some drinks and grub before retuning back to the convention center. The trip there and back took roughly two hours. Two hours well-MF-spent, IMHO. Not to mention the radtastic pics we snapped! I will definitely be doing this again! read more

If you're in Tampa looking for something fun to do ... This is it. Every time family comes over, we take a trip to Tampa and we go to eBoats. I don't remember the price. I think it's $40 an hour. I recommend getting atleast two hours. You're allowed to bring your own food and drinks. You get to drive it yourself as long as you have a valid license. I definitely recommend everyone should do it atleast once. It's a really nice experience. I believe the guy who works there is the owner himself. He's a sweetheart. read more

With DT Tampa growing so much lately, these little boat rides will only get better. We rented one of these boats, the boat was clean and the two guys working there were nice and professional. We brought wine, snacks and a little speaker. You get all the good views from the boat. I went during the day time, but will most definitely be doing the night time ride. The only two recommendations are that if you go during hot summer time to bring a towel to sit on if you're wearing shorts or a dress and that you park at the Tampa convention center garage. read more
