Dr. Basu is an excellent plastic surgeon. He immediately made me safer just by walking into the room. I had arm lift surgery with no post surgical pain, no significant swelling. Four days post-op, my upper arms already look amazing. However, the orders for palliative care prior to IV insertion before surgery were not honored by one ancillary healthcare professional. I endured a great deal of traumatic treatment including an alleged serious break in the chain of care along with false hyperbolic accusations against me that were personally insulting and absolutely unwarranted. I was not a problem patient. I was a patient treated like a problem because I insisted on promised palliative IV care...meaning an injection of lidocaine prior to IV insertion. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I was pain-shamed by one employee and by a doctor who upset me with twisted words then subsequently warned me about being upset before being put under anesthesia, an irony not lost on me.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Additionally, I have a forceful involuntary fight or flight response to IV insertion albeit not to blood drawn. I do not determine which pain my body experiences as a threat. The startle response is absolutely as uncontrollable as it is dangerous. Forceful movement can cause the cannula to tear through tissue, muscle, vessel(s). I was told, "Most patients prefer one stick to two." As far as my startle response is concerned, if I don't feel the second stick, it's only one stick that is minimal by comparison to IV insertion without palliative care. The emphasis being on care. It was absent without a great deal of effort on my part. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If Dr. Basu's practice had a patient advocate or ombudsman, this position could have prevented an unfortunate experience. There is no obvious venue in-house to deal with situations similar and ensuing aftermath.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There is nothing other than complaints to each individual's respective governing boards left for me to report allegations of professional misconduct. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Until Dr. Basu's practice adds a patient advocate giving voice to a patient's right to be seen, heard, felt, respected by his entire staff, patients like me, those who experience extreme involuntary startle responses to IV insertion will remain at risk.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Whether most patients tolerate IV insertion without startle reactions is irrelevant. Leaving even one more patient pain-shamed, abandoned, humiliated, hyperventilating bereft of care is one patient too many. read more

I'm 23, and my nose has been a major insecurity of mine for nearly half my life. Overall, I'm a confident person, but my nose took away from that confidence so much that I couldn't stand seeing myself at certain angles. I avoided photos or videos of the side of my face because they highlighted my bump. He shared this photo because it gives me an accurate idea of what the final result will look like as months go by and the swelling subsides. I cried tears of joy. Diet & Lifestyle: I don't drink, I don't smoke, I am Vegan, and I workout and run every day. Now, post-op, I have not been able to partake in much physical activity given the limitations of the procedure and the importance of healing properly, so I have made sure that my dietary intake paired well with the activity level I currently have this. This will ensure that surgical results are not ruined with unnecessary weight gain due to inactivity. However, it is important to know that a specific macronutrient intake is essential to recovery and healing (this is per individual, height, weight, etc). Be patient! Trust the process! I know I have to tell myself this every day. Oh but it's so worth it. And wear compressions 24/7!!!!!! I had a BA revision with the internal bra technique done after I was unhappy with my previous breast augmentation. The entire process was super smooth, the staff was incredibly nice, and I'm so in love with the results! I naturally have a low-set chest and so many other doctors told me that that was just my genetics, and there was nothing to do about it. I went to 4 other consultations before this one, and every doctor didn't have much confidence they could do what I wanted. Then I came here and Dr. Basu had 0 doubt he could create what I wanted, and they do look exactly like the photos I showed him. I remember waking up from my first BA and felt like the nurses and staff were annoyed with me for waking up too slowly or falling back asleep from the anesthesia and then I cried on the way home because of how bad it hurt with all the bumps in the road. I went in to have lip fillers done by Tiffany who is absolutely wonderful! This was my second time having lip fillers done but my first time with this office and staff. First off, it was so easy to get an appointment. I reached out to them online for an appointment and got an email the next day to follow up. I spoke with Paulina who is the receptionist at the Medical Center location and she explained the process and cost as well as the deposit amount. On the day of my appointment, they assisted me quickly and I was introduced to Tiffany. Tiffany is so sweet and really listened to what I wanted done after my previously bad experience with another physician. Throughout the whole procedure, she continuously checked on my pain level as well as my satisfaction with the lip size as we went along. She created a very relaxed atmosphere and put me at ease. Needless to say, I walked out extremely satisfied! The very next day, Tiffany texted me to see how I was doing and how I felt about my lips. She then followed up with me one week later. Just ok...I prepurchased Botox at my first appointment. I had a hard time getting ahold if someone to schedule an appointment to use the rest of it before it expired. I've been getting Botox for several years. One of the areas I've gotten it is in the "orange peel" the nurse said that she didn't feel comfortable injecting there. I'm not quite sure what that means...I'm not sure if she hadn't done it before and didn't know how or what? I've always had great results...I've gotten botox in that area for the past 3 years. I had to use what I already purchased so I suggested my lips but no to that too. I ended up getting some units in my crows feet. She didn't use all of the units I had prepurchased so those were lost. It wasn't a bad experience but it wasn't what I was looking for and not enough to make me return. I have a dr in Katy that usually does my botox so I'll be staying with them. read more

I met with Dr. Basu briefly and thought he was very nice and seemed very skilled. However, because of the office's rude staff member Monica, I will not be choosing Dr. Basu. I'd originally contacted multiple offices and surgeons both in California and Texas, and Dr. Basu's office had the BEST customer service in my opinion.
