My 18 year old son and I stopped here on our way to Cooperstown because I wanted him to see where I played minor league ball way back in 1989. Dwyer stadium is in the same spot, but it had dramatically changed as a result of major renovations. I still recognized the basic structure, but it no longer has wooden grand stands. I'm a bit of a ballpark chaser. Minor league or major league, visiting new ballparks is a hobby of mine. Knowing there had also been rumors early on in 2016 about the Muckdogs being sold/moved, I figured this year would be an opportune time to get to a Muckdogs game. There's no page available for Dwyer Stadium itself, so this review encompasses the overall experience. In terms of getting to the stadium and everything, I used my GPS (since I don't really know my way around Batavia) and found the stadium easily. Parking is free and readily accessible on stadium grounds. The staff is friendly and organized, and my Will Call tickets were readily available for pick-up. The stadium itself is typical for a short-season A team, and I think I showed up for the last game of the season (Labor Day). The fact that it was the last game of the season did mean that the concession area was out of the more popular food options (including sausage sandwiches, etc), so one had to stick to the basics... but plenty of people (comparatively speaking) showed up to enjoy the game. With ticket and concession prices being so inexpensive, it's not a bad way to spend a day. When it comes to the overall experience during the game, I suppose the stadium is missing any added "oompf." The mascot, for example, was out maybe... once during the game? Walking in front of the crowd/in the stadium; however, there was no participation by the mascot, including in the between-inning games with kids from the crowd (something that's fairly normal). The games too were pretty simple, and even the staff members assisting seemed to lack some enthusiasm. The game played was enjoyable though, and it's great to see such young players and their passion for the game. In a stadium like this, I suppose it's more about getting up close to the players... and while I didn't try and get anyone's autograph this time around, it would seem the stadium layout makes it fairly simple to get to players at some point. TL;DR Very local feel. Am glad I went in 2016 so that I could check it off the "to visit" list, but it feels lacking in comparison to other stadiums I've visited, including those for other short season/single A clubs. read more

We love going to Dwyer Stadium on a summer night! At $7 per adult ticket, it is a fun and relatively cheap night at the ball park to watch some up and coming baseball players. The food is decent and the stadium is very clean. Also, they do some amazing fireworks for the 4th of July. Highly recommend! read more

I hate baseball. Seriously, I generally find it boring and ridiculous... to watch on TV. BUT, put me in a stadium and you'd think I knew something about the sport. That having been said, one of my favorite summertime activities over the last few years has been frequenting Muckdogs games. Here's the breakdown: It's cheap and it's fun. Two people can get in for $10, have food for another $10 and enjoy two-three hours of entertainment. The feel is family friendly and you can hear every heckle. If you don't plan on taking the game TOO seriously and don't mind the possibility of a foul ball smashing your car's windshield in the parking lot, I highly encourage you to take a loved one to the ball park. Awesome baseball complex for a fun summer night. Venue is super clean....reasonably priced ...good food snacks and beer area ...family /kid friendly...great crowd participation games...awesome fireworks on the 4 th of July and Friday nights. We usually go to Redwings games but they were on the road so we decided to come see the the Batavia Muckdogs. Decent ballpark. Small but still a good time. Ticket prices are reasonable from $6.50-7.50. Came on a $1 Bud Light night from 6-7pm. We each downed 4 beers. Haha. Not bad. Hot dogs were reasonable too at $2.25. As a season ticket holder the Muckdogs are cheap entertainment in the summer that's family friendly and I love it. You can easily access players after the game for autographs and the stadium is well kept and had no bad seat in the house. I would recommend this to anyone. Tickets are cheap, only a dollar more for any of the box seats and on Mondays there are deals on tickets. read more

I like watching baseball, and I like that the tickets and concessions are cheaper than most. It's your typical small town baseball field. When you have a professional baseball team and you want to draw a crowd, you really need to add something to the whole "going to the game" experience, and this is where the dogs are falling short. During seasons when the team is not doing so well, you need other stuff to make the experience fun. Start with a stadium announcer with a bit more personality (and a bit less of a sourpuss). A DJ or organist who works the crowd also helps make it fun even when the home team is getting pasted. A nice bonus would be vendors who walk through the stands selling the common stuff like peanuts, cotton candy, etc. I really hope the organization considers these things instead of packing up and moving out. I really would like to see the Muckdogs organization do better. I'm surprised they haven't benefited more from their relationship with the Rochester Red Wings - even when the actual team stinks, the overall experience of going to a Red Wings game is rated among the best in minor league baseball nationwide. I still think the 'dogs can learn some things from the Wings, so I'm not giving up hope for the Muckdogs. read more
