Despite the amazing pictures I got while I was on the cruise, I was very disappointed by the customer service, the rude gate keepers, and lack of general instructions when we boarded the ship. My wife purchased the tour tickets for a 3pm boat, in which the ticket told us to show up 15 min early, but when we arrived at 2:45pm, the staff told us that the boat wouldn't leave until 3:30pm, and they just told us to walk around the dock. Once we got on the boat, we went to the upper deck, but we heard no instructions on how to hear the guides until we got down to the midlevel section at the end of the tour. This was rather unfortunate as we spent a good amount of money to learn about the landscapes, but didn't learn much aside from how beautiful all the buildings are. So, if you choose this tour, just remember to log onto the wifi and then listen to it. read more

There are plenty of boat options for taking a dinner cruise down the Seine, but Bateaux Parisiens is the most English friendly (heck, I think our server knew Spanish pretty well too). It may be a bit pricier than other options, but booking online was a breeze. Even though it says to bring an ID and your ticket printed out, you should be ok with just your confirmation number (I had a screenshot of my email ticket on my phone and that worked). I didn't go for the premium seating, but as this was a weekday we were lucky and didn't have anyone seated to my right so we had a little space around us. Our server was a nice guy, but overall the service is very disorganized. The couple next to us received their appetizer before we even were able to order. On the reverse side, we got our photos taken by the boat photographer, but when the lady next to us asked for their photo the photographer said she'd wait until they were done with their current course. It just felt oddly disjointed when the people right next to us are at a completely different point of the meal. The tour was great, and instead of commentary on the sights we were treated to a couple of live singers. The food itself was fine - not super memorable but good. Photos were a bit pricy at 20 euros each, but we ended up getting one anyway for the memories. The BP dinner cruise is definitely more of a special occasion kind of expense and not one you would do just because you were in town and wanted to see the sights. Of course, I came away from my trip with a new fiance, but I can't guarantee that these are usual results. read more

A nice way to see Paris is from the Seine by boat, especially at night. These cruises run about every 30 minutes during the day. Nothing out of the ordinary but nice just to sit there and look around as someone else does the driving. Unsure about the dinner cruises but with the times they state it would seem rushed so we opted for the standard package and had a great meal afterwards. read more

You want to see interesting and different angles of landmarks, this is a fun way to do it. We booked this cruise through a booking company day tour. What we weren't aware of was the different tables are priced differently. Meaning we didn't get the window seat. It was a bummer at first, but the inner tables weren't bad. You are sitting right on top of each other so that was a bit awkward at first but one everyone starts eating and looking at the sites, it melts away. The food. Surprisingly good. Remember where you are, and that you're not in a 5 star restaurant. You're on a boat. And the Kool part? They cook on the boat! So your food comes out fast and hot. The options are pretty wide. My mom is vegan and she was able to get the vegetarian option without too much trouble. My only complain was the dessert options. There is a wide variety, however it did taste like it was made waaaaaay in advanced and frozen. Not as fresh as the rest of the dinner. If you do the cruise. Don't fret too much over getting a window seat, you'll still get a pretty decent view from the inner section. read more

This was the worst service I have ever experienced in my life! I ordered the fish and when it came out I took a bite and almost threw up, it was so bad. I asked the waiter if I could change the entree and he took the plate and told me he would check. His Manager came back with the plate saying because I took a bite, he can't serve it to anyone else. I told him I obviously intended to eat it but when I tasted it, I did not like it. He then proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with the fish and since no one else complained, the issue was mine. Instead of simply telling me they were unable to change the entree (which I would have accepted) he instead yelled at me that the problem was mine and I would need to eat the fish. There was no way I was eating that and asked them to trash it. Completely rude! I would not recommend! The food is terrible as well as the service. read more

We went on the dinner cruise with another couple. We had the premiere service and had a window seat which I think is worth it. Overall a bit pricey, but if you have the funds it is a good way to spend 3 hours at night in Paris. The food was good and seafood heavy, which I personally am not a fan of. The desserts were good, especially the chocolate cake. Get that! The server was engaging. The photos they take are very good however very pricey and few bought them. Our travel agent booked this dinner cruise for us. It cost $81/person. Their instructions said to arrive before 7:30 because checkin for the cruise ends at 7:30. We arrived at 6:50. We went to the place they told us to checkin: pontoon 7. No one was there. We waited and looked around. Finally we asked someone who worked on the boat if this is where we check in. He said yes, we were in the right place and he was expecting a host any minute. So we kept waiting. At 7:40, a woman with a list shows up. (she had passed back and forth about 10 times previously). I ask her if we can check in for dinner. She said to go to pontoon 5. I said that the instructions they gave us told us to come to 7. She said again in a condescending tone to go to 5. We go there and check in. It ends up that we are departing from pontoon 8 at 8. It seems they lose something in translation. They gave us the wrong info so we show up much earlier than needed. Waste an hour smelling bus and boat fumes while standing around like idiots. When we ask for help we got more wrong information. When we do get the right info it's in a condescending tone with no attempt to help us out. This woman saw us standing in the wrong place (through no fault of our own) and never gave a helpful heads up about where to check in even though we were clearly looking for help. When we asked her, she was cold and rude. So unhelpful. The French are never wrong and they never apologize. read more

This summer, my husband, mother, and niece all booked Etoile tickets on the Bateux Parisiens for a late evening dinner cruise. It was one of the highlights of our trip. The view of the Seine was amazing. I know that others may want the seats next to the windows - but the center seats are a bit raised, and you can see just fine. Service stood out on this experience. Our waitress was very prompt and very courteous. Our wine glasses were never empty, and courses were served at an appropriate pace. Food was fair - but admittedly, my expectations were not incredibly high as I assumed this would be standard fare for large-scale service. It was better than expected. I would highly recommend this dinner cruise to any visitor to Paris. After a summer day fighting the crowds and being on your feet, it was lovely to relax, take in the views, and be served. read more

I could go 3.5 stars. We booked the nighttime one hour tour that departed from Notre Dame in order to see the city lights. The boat was clean, the staff was fine. It was a bit difficult to hear the narration. Because it was a cold rainy night the boat was not crowded. We saw everything we wanted and the city at night is quite beautiful. The 3.5 stars is because the boat ride was fine but nothing special. I think the dinner cruise probably would have been better. Also, when I bought the tickets the agent shorted me 50 Euro, a mistake I caught before I left, and it probably was just an honest mistake but it made me wonder if he thought I would not notice because the currency is foreign to me. They have cruises very often so it wasn't very crowded. The commentary was nice, especially since we hadn't done any official tours so we appreciated some factual information. After seeing the Eiffel Tower, we strolled down to the Seine to find this sightseeing boat franchise. I chose it because we were on a time budget and they offered 1 hour cruises at about $18/person. It was ok as it went by most of the things I wanted to see in the 1 hour, and some bankside sights of everyday Parisian life as well. The guide was bilingual French/English, but seemed hurried. What I didn't like is there was no upper deck to sightsee from. There are exterior walkways on the sides of the boat that offer views, but they're unprotected from the elements and have no PA system to hear the guide. If you have time, better to take one of the hop on/hop offs offered at the same dock as this boat. read more

This was our dinner cruise night up and down the river in Paris. The atmosphere was romantic and the service top notch. Preset menu to choose from and lasted about 1&1/2 to 2 hours where you can see most of the site seeing locations along the river. I think the best view you can get was the Statue of Liberty with the Eiffel Tower in the background since the boat turned around at that point to head back. Otherwise you can walk to the little island but you don't have much room in front of the Statue to take a pic. This cruise is one of the more expensive ones but you get everything from red and white wine, champagne and all other goodies. There is tier pricing to get the better seats which is probably where they get you. Don't think that if you go with the cheaper cruise your saving money, you will be buying things a la carte and probably end up paying the same. Food was on point, presently very well and tasted great from the apps to the desert. Must get the duck breast since it seems it's on the menu everywhere and it was like eating a filet mignon. It was a great romantic time and great experience, I would at least recommend doing it if you have time since it is a romantic scene. read more

This was by far our worst experience in Paris due to the way we were so poorly treated. The waiter spilled the bottle of wine on my fiancé who was wearing a white dress, and at the end of the night they REFUSED to process the refund they promised us. Immediately after the waiter spilled the bottle of wine on her, we were told our tickets/meal would be comped due to the incident, so we were very easy-going about it, despite the fact that it was her very first time wearing that dress which costed more than the price of our tickets. At the conclusion of the boat ride, all they did was give us a dry cleaning voucher. What is even worse is that they pretended to never offer comping our tickets/meal, they looked at us like we were out of line for asking for what they originally promised! My fiancé and I know very well that they promised us a refund by two people on two occasions directly after the incident. It seems they were afraid we were going to be outraged and cause a scene, but then when we didn't, when we were more relaxed than expected, they decided we were no longer worth giving the promised refund to. Despite the fact her dress is still ruined! Not to mention the embarrassment she felt 30 min later walking across the entire boat to the restroom with people staring at her dress, and embarrassment again during our stroll home. After being so relaxed and pleasant about such a horrendous mess up, we couldn't understand why they mistreated us in this way. They were so incredibly rude about it once everyone else had left the boat, we were completely shocked. We also kindly explained that this amount of damage would never come out of the material of this dress which we now have to throw away because of their mistake. Still, they insisted that we go home, and have our dry cleaning bill sent to a third party location. This is incredibly horrible service and business for that matter. The rest of the boat tour was alright. The presentation of the food was nice and appealing, but 3 out of 4 dishes did not taste very good. Just dont try to cancel! I wish I had been able to experience this. Unfortunately less than a week after booking, I realized I had miscalculated the time to get there and would not be able to make my lunch cruise reservation. Contacting them, I was informed of their cancellation policy, which I had not been able to find on their website. After much back and forth, they would only refund half my cost. Fyi, the link the sent me to their cancellation policy was in French even though it was on their English version page. So Be Aware, and for those English speaking, here is there cancellation policy as of January 2018, direct from their email: Our cancellation policy is: -          Full refund for a cancellation happening more than 60 days before the date of the cruise. -          50% refund for a cancellation happening between 60 and 10 days before the date of the cruise. -          No refund for a cancellation happening less than 10 days before the date of the cruise. I was hopeful that if I by chance was able to make the lunch cruise I could book on the dock or if not would lunch in their cafe on the Seine, but at this point I won't give them any more hard earned money, when they will have weeks to rebook my solo reservation with a couple instead. ***I have lowered my rating to 1 star after many more emails with them. ****update After giving in and contacting my credit card, I did receive a refund 6 weeks later, whether it was the credit card company that pushed it through or them deciding to do what was right I can not say. read more

Tried this cruise with the Hubby for our Anniversary. Overall, it was wonderful and I highly recommend it. We chose the 8:30 PM Etoile service. Our instructions advised us to arrive at either Pontoon 5 or 7 between 7:45 - 8:00 PM for check-in. We arrived at Pontoon 7 at 8 and were told to go to Pontoon 5 for check-in. Once at P5, we waited in line (on a boat) a few minutes to check-in, received our boarding passes and menu, then told to head back to P7 to board. This was the only meh part of the evening. It would have been easier if everything was at P7. The ambiance on the boat was very nice. The room was dimly lit with flameless LED candles. There was a singer performing popular covers and jazz music. For the food... Starter Me - Crab with Avocado Puree (Very forward on the Seafood flavor, but I loved it) Hubby - Green and White Asparagus with Maltese Sauce (Did not expect the Asparagus to be chopped - Hubby ended up eating most of my starter as he did not care for his) Main Course Me - Roasted Sea Bass (Delicious - order this) Hubby - Roasted Beef Filet (Hubby enjoyed it but was not overly impressed) Dessert Hubby ordered both desserts since I tend to be particular about them. The names escape me but the Strawberry Meringue made me think it was fantastic. Get that for sure. The other dessert resembled Cheesecake, but it was no bueno. The server did recommend the Chocolate dessert as the best, but again I am very particular. The ride was smooth and sites are beautiful. It would be helpful to know what you're specifically passing or looking at. Maybe a cruise map would work. The service was attentive enough. Very nice experience! We were a group of 12 ppl and were accommodated very well. Service was very attentive and our glasses were never empty! Food was delightful, I ordered scallops, sea bass and was able to try someone's snails. It all tasted very good and presented in a very nice way. My only observation on the food would be in regards to the foie, someone ordered the foie thinking it would be the actual liver but it was the mousse, so it would be nice to have specified on the menu what kind of foie you are actually getting. The views were incredible, it was our first night out in town and it gave us a nice ideia about what the city bad to offer. We also had live entertainment on board which made the night even more special. There was a photographer on board which charges €20 per photo, and they were actually very nice, a lot of our ppl bought at least two! I went yesterday for an 8:30 cruise with my friend. We got the "Privilege Service" package. I ordered the beef steak *rare* as my main course and they gave me a steak that was half *medium well - half well done* and argued with me when I sent it back. I wish I took a picture or video of it. They brought the *medium well-well done steak* back to the table and insisted that I cut again into it (after cutting it into several pieces already to demonstrate) with my butter knife, because I never received a steak knife (seriously?), to see that I was tender. I obliged them by doing so and told them it was still overcooked and extremely chewy/a low quality cut. They finally gave me a filet of chewy/low quality *medium rare* steak. I was OK with and not going to complain about until the manager came over special to argue with me that in the future I need to order my steak blue - which made me wonder what he'd call it if he actually saw blue rare. It was incredibly rude and insulting. Aside from that - my friend and I agreed that the overall meal - food/wine/service - was so underwhelming at the price point we paid. We regret it immensely. I didn't even bother with dessert (which my friend said was bad) after they gave me a gouda for the cheese course that probably came from the supermarket. The couple next to us who saw it all unfold and had a similar experience speculated that because Paris is the number 1 tourist destination in the world that they feel they aren't required to give good food or service. Because it won't hurt their business. The only redeeming thing about the cruise was some of the views. Which we could have seen just by walking along the seine river or by using a different boat cruise - which I recommend doing. Don't give these people your money. read more

I've been on this an hour cruise before. If you go inside the boat you can listen to commentaries about what you can see from the boat in a range of languages. If you are on the top deck you get get any commentaries. It's ok and usually take school groups there because it's quite cheap. However today i got separated from my 20 students (14/15 yrs old) and the other accompanying teachers because there was a mess up at the till (all tickets were paid for but one of them disappeared / was not handed to me at the time). Service was very poor. I went to see them in good time to make them aware of the issue and I waved at my pupils from the till as it took them so long to attempt at sorting it out. There was no resolution and I was shocked about their attitude (young woman working at the till and her manager) I will not take another group here due to their typical Parisian attitude (meaning not even trying to be polite or caring). I am glad that I know my young students are safe as the other teachers on the boat with them are great, but I am appalled by the staff attitude and way of dealing with customers (with me and others who were not treated in the most polite way whilst buying tickets) read more

Ok. We paid the premium price to be at the tip of the boat. On the phone we confirmed we would be able to see everything as we are paying the best service and all that. Then we were placd at the side of the boat. In order to make more money the premier area was widened even though it is shown differently on their website. Being dissapointed that we arent even seated ny the window, we asked if this was the correct table and the waiter said " I wouldnt bring you to this table if this wasnt your table madame", passive agressive much? We just let go. But we cant even see outside properly because of the tables placed infront of the windows. All the photos have at least two three heads in them even if we PAID extra to be at the front. Then we notice only the French are placed by the windows even though we literally paid about 100 euros to be placed at the tip of the boat. We dont say anything. Until we saw another French couple asking and changing their seats from the inner side like ours to the windows because there were a lot of empty tables. We ask as well as cruise moved anyway and they moved so why couldnt we. Well they said we should wait and we waited 25 minutes just to hear no. Then we say the others did so we dont know why we cannot. Then they FINALLY let us move after we ask 3 different waiters 6 times and waiting for over 35 minutes! The waiters didnt even bother refreshing our drinks or giving us options regarding our drinks like they did with others, the French would even be allowed to taste test their wine and then decide while we were directly given this red one without even being asked our preference. After we complained and said this will be on social media they magically started to treat us better and placed us at th front of the ship. We paid for it anyway, if theres a seat why not move us before driving us crazy? Might be good for the French but foreigers, dont bother paying for the premier service. Just get the premium and you will at least be seated by the window for sure. Or just dont get on at all honestly, the food werent that impressive you might as well get on a sightseeing cruise and have a nicer meal on the land. read more

I had been able to experience seeing the Seine in the day and at night and it was a different experience for both visits. A lot of tour groups use this company but the rates are decent. I went on the dinner tour with my family. I would say that this is most definitely a tourist trap and isn't that bad as far tourist traps go. The area that you wait in before you get on the boat is a cramped and didn't have an appropriate amount of seats for how popular it is. Now I do have to say that you must take my experience with a grain of salt, as our waiter was not good at all. He did not attend us enough and was very cold. As for the ambience the interior was very nice and modern. I do have to say it wouldn't be the worst thing if they cleaned the glass once and a while. As it was hard to get good photos of the landmarks without getting dirty glass prints in it. The food was very good and the wine just kept coming. One thing that bothered me throughout the experience was the singer. At first it was nice but then it became obnoxious and they didn't play songs that I think were appropriate to the vibe. Not to mention the ladies voice became extremely annoying and nasally sounding after a while, coming from a singer. At one point they started playing "Just the Way You Are" by bruno mars and I was like "???". We waited for about half an hour and the boat still hadn't come. The previous boat had already come by the stop and unloaded its passengers at the time that our boat was supposed to start boarding, but it left the port. The boat didn't come until 11:00, with no apology from staff. The seats were very dirty and the boats were low quality. I went on a dinner cruise a few years ago when in Paris and it did not compare. BP was absolutely amazing! Here's why: 1. You get to be all dressed up and fancy. I realize Parisians do this every day anyway but as Americans, especially Seattlelites, this is not always the case with us and it was so fun feeling formal for a night. 2. You get to be wined and dined for 3 hours. Who doesn't like that? 3. If you happen to be vegetarian, this is the only dinner cruise which offers vegetarian options! 4. You get to listen to amazing jazz and live music all night while eating your super fancy and exquisite meal. 5. The sites at night... that's right, you get the most amazing night views of some of Paris' most grand monuments. I think you can guess which ones those are :) I highly recommend Bateaux Parisiens if you are in Paris and although it's a bit pricy, it's worth it. BTW just a tip -- Expedia offers the dinner cruise at a much better price than any other website I found. So glad we experienced this! We had such a lovely evening in Paris thanks to this cruise. We purchased two tickets for the 8:30 PM dinner cruise on Friday night through our hotel and it was 100% worth it!! We paid over $300 EU since we opted for a table by the window. My advice - SPLURGE! You wont regret it! The menu included a starter, entree, cheese course, and dessert. Not to mention a glass of champagne when you arrive and a bottle of red wine and a bottle of white wine. There is live music and it was great. The server was SUPERB! And of course... who can forget the views! The Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the list is endless. I wanted to take the beau on a different perspective of Paris on our last night there. He's not huge in to sight seeing, but I think Paris is arguably even more beautiful at night. So although this is painfully touristy, its definitely a cute way to spend time with your loved ones while you're here. I upgraded to the service "privilege" because I wanted to get a guaranteed good seat by the window : ) SERVICE Our waiter was very kind and we both liked him, but honestly he was overworked. I counted he must have had around 15 tables, all in different parts of their meal. It's really just too much considering how difficult it is for them to get to the kitchen. This lead to a lot of times where food was cold, or we'd be sitting in the dark (keep reading) for minutes on end. But he was busting his ass and I felt terrible for him. Also...so annoying but our light went out THREE times. It was really, really bizarre and we were the only ones who had this problem. When you sit next to the window, there's no overhead lighting so without these you're essentially sitting in the dark. Its kind of a mood kill. FOOD Scallop starter- this could have been good but they weren't seared! How can you make a scallop not seared? :( Also, ours were cold when we received them. The flavors were good though. Sea Bass- thought this was OKAY. Not bad, not great. I'd recommend the beef fillet. Beef Fillet- FULL of flavor, hot and delightful! This was easily the best part of the meal and I totally recommend it. It comes with some roasted potato thing that I thought was forgettable, but the beef was on point! Yum. Dessert- cute assortment of desserts. Not bad not great. WINE Everyone starts off with a sparkling wine for a toast. Then you have a glass of white with your starter and then...a bottle of red. They give you a whole bottle...A WHOLE BOTTLE. Which I clearly took as some sort of challenge (oops) but it was SO yummy I couldn't help myself. Everyone enjoyed all of their wines, and my least favorite was likely the champagne starter. All in all, I'm still happy we did it as he agreed Paris looks AMAZING along the Seine. I was definitely bummed about the food and light for the money that was paid but I guess what can you expect from a tourist attraction? : ) read more

My trip was cancelled at the last minute due to the Coronavirus travel ban to Europe. I immediately contacted Bateaux Parisiens to see what my options were. I understand I could not receive a refund because it was within the 10-day window. However, I am completely frustrated that they were unwilling to allow me to re-book for a future dinner cruise after August 2020. I asked if they could give me a longer window and was told no. Absolutely every other vendor I am working with has been flexible in light of these extraordinary circumstances. I wasn't asking for a refund, just a chance to reschedule for March 2021. I am very upset that they weren't even willing to consider this option. The Moulin Rouge said no refund, but I could re-book anytime in the next 24 months. La Cuisine Cooking School said no refund, but I could re-book by December 31st and use my credit for March of 2021. I just don't see why Bateaux Parisiens is being so inflexible. I am willing to re-book. I just can't do it on their timeline. So, buyer beware. If anything goes wrong that is out of your control they will be inflexible, rude, and greedy with taking your money and giving you nothing in return!!! read more
