Bateman Carroll was the funeral home I selected for my daughters funeral. It was a sudden and unexpected death, I was a mess. Bob Cafferky walked us step by step through the arrangements, explaining everything and patiently reexplained when I did not understand. Don't use these people if you value the dignity of your deceased. The henchman they sent out to pick up my dad couldn't have done a worse job. My deceased fathers head was off to the side of the gurney and when they got to the back of their van they could not get him inside. My wife and I watched from the house in horror as they kept pushing from the back of the gurney ramming my dear fathers head repeatedly into the frame of the rear door. I had to run out there and tell them to quit abusing his dead body and then, with me watching, they took the time to do it correctly. Don't use these people unless you want to be traumatized further on the worst day of your life! read more

Our family has used this funeral home for several relatives. A few years ago it was bought out by a corporation: Dignity Memorial. My dad died in August. He was 90. More than 300 folks came to his funeral. A little unusual for a 90-year-old. He was special. From our first meeting with Bateman staff, our angst increased. When you drop many thousands of dollars into a funeral home's coffers, you expect all to run smoothly, efficiently, and you expect them to relieve you of the burden of planning and executing the funeral. From the obituary snafus, to them losing my dad's glasses, to the highly offensive sales pitch (reminiscent of used car lot experiences), to the bungled video showing (we had to ask the director to just stop it as he couldn't find the right one. . .IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FUNERAL. . .audience tittering at the incompetence), to all of us milling about at the cemetery for half an hour waiting for the hearse. . .it was two blocks from the funeral home. . .Bateman Carroll DIGNITY, did nothing but add to our grief and sorrow and anxiety. I was so angry during the funeral at the multiple messes and chronic incompetence that I did not shed one tear for my precious dad. My sincere advice to you is to avoid this death mill like the plague. It is repugnant, rife with incompetence, lack of attention to detail, and truly made my dear father's passing much more difficult to deal with than it already was. ("Oh. . . would you like this necklace with your dear departed's thumbprint in it?!?") So icky. Just don't. read more

First, the services provided were good and the employees were all wonderfully nice as they collect piles of money from me. Funeral homes often work with a captive and venerable clientele. Therefore, they have a higher obligation to charge fairly for services and products. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home does not meet this higher obligation. The caskets are far, far too expensive and Bateman Carroll could offer caskets for far less and still make a good and fair profit 25% profit on each casket. Luckily, we went outside the home and bought a wonderful casket for Costco online. It saved us over $1700 dollars and arrived on time and was beautiful and wonderfully built. The director was not pleased that we purchased a casket elsewhere and certainly did not inform us that purchasing a casket elsewhere was even an option that could save us thousands. The other services provided turned out to be about 20 percent more expensive than other funeral homes in the area. This high level of profit is not acceptable, given the type of business. I would not use a Bateman Carroll Funeral Home again. read more
