I spent 30 minutes waiting for them to find the other slide for a pair of Birkenstocks I wanted to buy. A few weeks later, the slides started falling apart, so I went to exchange them and waited another 20 minutes, only to be told they didn't have the other slide for the replacement. They said they'd call me when they found it, but I never got a call. I eventually called them, and they told me I should just order the slides instead. They refunded me the exact amount onto a gift card, but shipping cost $10 and took a week. They've done nothing to help, and I'm absolutely pissed and disappointed in their service. My experience today at your Nordstrom racks was horrible, they were super rude and were so busy trying to sell me on getting the credit card that they charged me for my cologne and then didn't put it in the bag, and I had to pay for a whole another Uber all the way down there just to pick it up and they weren't willing to do anything to make their mistake right. I have to admit a feeling of shock when we walked in. I read previous negative reviews and wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised to find a fabulous selection on hand. It says something that my uncle, daughter and grand daughter all walked out with new clothes. I even found a couple of sweatshirts to bum around in. Do the math and that's four generations served by one store. My uncle's new wife won't let me use her name in the review and got mad and yelled at me about it. So, let's call her Mandice. Not because she has massively huge man-feet, but it's just a random name. Right? Point is, that there were shoes that fit those gunboats...and looked great, to boot (see what I did there). She left with a pair of heels, a running shoe and slippers. NR has a new shoe customer, thanks to me (even though she'll never admit it was me). I love the fact that they keep the place clean and orderly. There's a wide variety. The people are very nice to us, but, they do have to pick up the pace at the check out. So glad that we have Nordstrom's excellent service. Their excellent prices and they had excellent set it was sad to lose our large beautifully stocked Nordstroms but am extremely grateful that they left us the Rack. You can tell how the sales help treats the customers how well they treat their employees. Losing the grand cornerstone of Nordstroms at the 5 th avenue mall will always be missed. The introduction of Nordstrom Rack in Anchorage was welcomed. It's been a nice addition to the bleak shopping and lack thereof for us. I also find it nice to be able to shop without having to go downtown. I'm usually on a mission, seeking out specifics, rather than perusing each and every rack, looking for incredible deals. I'm just not that kind of shopper, never have been. If I like it, I buy it and am usually additionally pleased by the price markdowns at The Rack. This trip made me feel like they're letting themselves go a bit. Kind the norm in AK, there aren't many options so you just don't try hard because where else will people go? Things were in disarray, very disheveled. Items on the floor, not organize and such. Not the whole place, but it was almost like nobody cleaned and organized from the few days before. Not that big of a deal, just noticeably different from the past trips and what is the norm at their parent store. Only 2 cashiers assisting a long line of customers. While I waited I witnessed two returns and an additional person deciding the didn't want an item after all and it needed to be taken off the sale. Trivial maybe, but I liked it when returns were done at a separate register/specific area. Of course I'll be back, I just hope it's a bit more polished next time. read more

An awesome place for name brands at a significant Savings. Today was shoes, Paul Green Sandal Heels and UGG slippers oh and Penguin socks. We've come for Levi's, Lucky Brand and Mavi Jeans, Tommy Bahama, Bjorn, Nautica, Vineyard Vine oh so many major brands. For the most part they're about clothes and shoes for kids, woman and men but they have some home goods like towels and pillows, shampoo's, fragrances, purses, watches and sunglasses. This is definitely my favorite Nordstrom Rack I have ever visited and I have all of the NR's in the Seattle metro area to compare this one to!! The store is kept clean and they have a great surplus of stuff! As a former plus size woman, this is where I would buy the majority of my clothing when I resided in Alaska. I still make a stop in every time I come to town and without fail I always find something that needs to come home with me, whether it be some jewelry, snow boots, pajama bottoms, socks, or a cute top for date night. It certainly helps that the staff are very polite and courteous. read more

so disappointed in my experience here. I was looking for a new wardrobe and came to the rack. there's a guard standing at the door like the customers coming in are criminal. I went about my business shopping and hear this little old lady begging to use the restroom. they've blocked it off for shoppers to use (ridiculous). Im pregnant and constantly need to go. an associate let myself and little old lady passed the barrier into the restrooms. when I go to try on my clothes, the dressing room attendant says I have to come back and forth out to get my clothes...im shopping for a new wardrobe and outfit pairing. inconvenient. annoying. but ok, whatever. I get into the dressing room and it REEKS like urine. I rush through the clothes. go to buy my clothes and a lady is standing there trying to get a refund. she lives 3 hours away and they denied her because it was passed the 60 days or whatever. she's pleading with them. had original receipt and tags still on it. but she lives 3 hours away and couldn't get there to return within the timeframe. they said no. no wonder Amazon is putting everyone out of business. read more

Seems like new staff, friendly security guard at the door and slightly better organization since we used to come here. Still good deals on stuff, I found dresses (for a party) priced $23 down from $138 (women's). Great find. Toddler pants at $3.68 from around $20. You can't get toddler pants on sale that cheap at target. Much improved so we'll be regulars again. read more

Another great new store comes to Anchorage, and judging by the shopping insanity at the limited opening party, a lot of people welcome what The Rack has to offer: namely discount (and also discount clearance for even more bargains!) Nordstrom clothing, accessories, shoes--all for men, women, and children--decor, lingerie, and beauty items (basically, all the departments you'd find at Nordy's, including women's juniors, plus, and petite). This store is more like Nordstrom Racks I've been to in more suburban areas: bright, airy, and a nice amount of stock but nothing crazy, like the massive Seattle cave. They have more designer and couture offerings that you won't find here (like $3000 dresses for $600, or whatever). Then again, here you won't feel like you're spelunking amidst racks and racks of haphazardly strewn fashion, either. It's a trade off. In spite of the mad crowds--which kept me from taking more than one commemorative photo as I had enough trouble juggling my free sparkling wine, the tasty bites, and shopping cart (which were nice treats for opening day but don't factor into my review of the store itself)--the place was well-stocked, logically organized, and even tidy. They must have done some serious staff training. The customer service folks I spoke to or saw with others were all very friendly and helpful and solicitous. No judgement here for discount shopping. Of course, it's still Nordy's affiliated, so while one can find some thrifty deals (like a killer BCBG sweater tunic for $30), some things are still expensive even after markdown (like $200 Tory Burch boots). Thus, customers here still receive the royal treatment: maybe not for a King, more like a Duke. They had a nice dreamy cashmere section--dreamy as in soft and dreamy as in only in my dreams can I afford it--ranging from $100-200. I'm sure that will change with the seasons. But I was impressed with the amount of sneakers available, which I hope stays consistent, so I can go back after I've replenished my shopping coffers. All in all, an excellent addition to the Anchorage clothing sales scene. read more

Great selection! I came here after visiting the Nordstrom downtown and was impressed with the quantity and quality of the stock on hand. Most of the Racks I've ever been to have been packed with people and thus contained a much more picked-through selection and overwhelmingly claustrophobic shopping experience. This location seemed to have things spread around and moving at a good pace, although towards closing time the employees did seem to be silently pushing customers out the door. This was the only thing that was a bit awkward here. They had an especially great selection of coats and shoes. The accessories and home section were a bit smaller than the ones in most Racks but I noticed a good selection of bracelets hanging from the rounders in the accessories section so it's worthwhile to have a look. read more

My go to store every time I visit Anchorage. Great selection and nice staff. Definitely worth stopping by. I used to love going to this Nordstrom Rack, but it's undergone a dramatic change recently that I don't understand. I hadn't visited the store since October 2019, until this week--June, 2021, and I was truly shocked by the changes. Almost everything in the store is now on clearance, which in itself isn't a bad thing, but there aren't any quality clothes left. Everything looks like poor quality leftovers. It was a depressing shopping experience, and I left as soon as possible. I wish I knew what happened, but I don't want to return to the store ever again. read more

Glad to find Nordstrom Rack in Anchorage. I checked out the shoes and managed to find a pair I liked. Big selection, plenty of items on clearance and otherwise. My friend found a couple tops, bath supplies, a wall decor item and we both left very happy. I find every Nordstrom Rack to be hit or miss - sometimes I score something wonderful and other times not. Pleasant and helpful staff here. I asked a staffer wearing the telltale green shirt if I could check out at one of their several checkout kiosks and she helped me do so. The store is a hot mess every time I'm in there- especially in the women's clothing section. The racks are disaster, clothes strewn everywhere, and things are not sorted correctly by size. They have enough clothes to have each size on a different rack, but instead of keeping it easily organized like that, they have a ton of racks that all have several sizes on them. It's a pain in the rear to sort through them. I expect that at a thrift store or a garage sale, but this is not either. It really would not be difficult to have each rack have 1 size of clothing on it. It's such a pain to look through every single item on every rack...and still not find anything worth buying. After several attempts, I decided to spend my money and my time in a place that values my money and time, not here! read more

I went here to get some shoes for skateboarding and was surprised at the selection of shoes they had they have a lot of name brand stuff for really decent prices I would recommend this to anyone who needs some new brand name clothes but not the brand name prices the only reason I am giving this a 4 star is because of the customer service they only had 2 people working out of the 4 registers and 10 people in line they had all of there other staff straightening up stuff that really didn't need to be straitened up instead of working the other cash registers read more

AHHH Nordstrom Rack! I have been to many across the country from Seattle (I call it the RACK ROLL cause I hit EVERY one of them) to NYC where I hated the sales tax but got some killer deals like an Eileen Fisher $298.00 sweater for $29.93. In fact when I travel for work I first find all the Rack's and check them out! Yeah a little obsessed! I have been to a few that were disappointing but this one is pretty good. I have found some great bargains! The shoe section IMO is excellent. I have found a pair of BedStu booties that retail for $235.00 for $65.00 and some Dolce Vitas for $79.00 I have also found some throw pillows for my casa for the great clearance price of $4.97. There is a decent selection of sweaters, both bargain brands to cashmere, and again i have scored some deals . The sales racks are pretty good. I got a Wildfox fleece top for $29.97 and the top retails for $118.00. I also found a leather skirt for $79.97. I almost jumped around for that one! But it is the thrill of the hunt for me too! And there seems to be stuff added every day. I also like the fact that any orders from the on line flash site can be returned at the Rack. I do shop a lot at that site and like that I don't have to mail it back. Plus its an added bonus that I can peruse the items others have returned and possibly get something cool. The men's dept is small and the kids has a decent selection. The accessories section for me is good, I have found a great purse and love the Bliss products that are available. But I am disappointed in the selection of earrings . Would love to see some more stuff. All in all its a decent store, I am happy that we have one. I've only been once, but so far, so good! The selection was fantastic- especially the shoes. I got a $199 pair of boots for $56! The only downside was when I was checking out. The sales associate was extremely pushy when it came to trying to get me to apply for a Nordstrom credit card. I declined, oh, probably 5 times and she still pushed, even telling me I would regret it. I told her I prefer airline miles, and she laughed at me. Ugh. I hate pushy. Nordstrom: no is no. I love finding deals and here is a great place to find them! Sometimes it is very unorganized though and can be messy but I still go.

I was driving by this store tonight and saw I had 15 minutes before the store closed so I decided to make a quick stop. While quickly looking through the racks of shoes I was approached by an employee stating the store was closed. I stated I understood I have 5 more minutes. She responded by looking me up and down and stating I either have to get in line or leave. I was so flabbergasted by the blatant rudeness I decided not to buy the $100+ shoes I was eyeing and started to walk towards the exit vowing never to shop at this establishment again. As I was leaving I met up with my daughter who said this same employee went up to her stating the store is closed when she still had 10 minutes before closing time. She also witnessed this same employee talking with a coworker, after my encounter with her, saying "working here is like quicksand." Management seriously needs to evaluate who they employ and address the complete lack of customer service. This employee clearly doesn't value her position or understand the impact she has with making a sale. She's only worried about being able to leave at closing time with no second over. I've never experienced anything like this and I'm sure I'm not the only shopper who has had the misfortune of being treated this way by this employee. I wish I would have gotten a name or taken her picture but I was completely disgusted and just wanted to leave. Guess I will be taking my business elsewhere, even if I have to have an item shipped from another company. read more

I've only been here once to return something and look around. I bought it online and had the order pulled up on my app. It showed all of the information- how I paid, when I bought it, what it was, the order number, etc. yet they refused to take it and said it wasn't proof of purchase. I'm not sure how a complete invoice doesn't count as proof of purchase. I looked around a little and their selection is awful. It's just the same 10 atrocious items for every department repeated 30 times. Such a waste of store space. I wonder how long before it goes out of business. read more
