Bath and Body Works: The Covid Edition I haven't stepped inside a Mall in 10 months. Weird to say, but such is the norm for countless people. Prior to CV-19 I was always the go in, get what you need and leave. So this early weekday afternoon was no different. Bay Plaza Mall, I'm happy to say was desolate. Good for me, but not good for the Mall. I knew my go to Body Works fragrances wouldn't be available in the store. For those who don't know, they constantly discontinue one's favorite on the regular. Smh. Anyway, for the sake of not dawdling, and being subjected to trying to smell a ton of fragrances, especially food type fragrances. Blech! I asked this tall friendly associate, wish I got his name, for something comparable to my favorite. His quick guidance through the narrow pathway of colorfully displayed bins and neatly lined lotions, bath gels, etc., led me to a fragrance that was similar, yet different. I stayed with his suggestion. Took advantage of the buy 3 get 2 free. Picked up my 5 items. Darted towards checkout, no line, cool! Encountered another polite associate, double cool! Paid, bounced out of the store and headed out of the Mall. Got my B&BW's haul and in the interim broke my lockdown visiting the inside of a Mall during Covid-19 cherry. Mission Accomplished. Just recently , on March 24th 2025 to be exact my friend and I , went to pickup some items I ordered online and requested to pickup in store. There was a 40 percent off all items sale which was amazing. The workers at the actual bath and bodyworks section were amazing and pleasant , however the tall Caucasian male manager was not attentive to me as a customer. In fact he was making a call at the register and didn't greet me nor my friend. There was a fantastic employee whom was restocking and did acknowledge us and said someone will be with you soon. I also wanted to mention there indeed was another employee at the register but she was looking down pretending not to notice me and my friend so she didn't have to help us. Eventually when another customer joined the line is then when she decided to take care of me. She even handed me the bag as if she didn't want to touch me. I proceeded to tell my friend I would rather shop at the one all the way in Harlem if I had to and it would be a pity if I had to. I have been a customer for years at bath and bodyworks and spent a lot of money there. Please hire people who actually enjoy interacted with customers bath and bodyworks and treat people with respect! If I could rate them a zero I would.. read more

Loved the customers & love the products but working there was impossible. Off for over a month; weeks at a time--with HR and management not helping or caring is no way to live. I rather keep my dignity and sanity instead of waiting anxiously to see if I work every week just to be off again. Mentally, emotionally and physically takes a toll and is draining. Weird experience here. I walked into the usual enthusiastic employee greeting that you get at all Bath & Body Works. I went off to browse for Christmas gifts and an associate approached me asking who I was buying for. I told her I was shopping for my mother-in-law who has everything and I just wasn't sure of a scent yet. She continued to look me up and down as if something was wrong (mind you I was dressed professionally just off of work-- heels, peacoat, and all. NOT that this matters) and proceeded to offer me a basket. I gratefully took it, and while browsing, another associate whom I passed by said "oh the exit is this way" I said I wasn't looking for the exit but thank you. I went on to pick out items and complete my purchase, and on my way out, the same sales associate came up to me and said "oh what did you pick out? I'm nosey" and proceeded to look into my shopping bag. Almost as if she was looking for something instead of just being friendly. I know COVID is a crazy time and we're all wearing masks and such, but I felt extremely uncomfortable as if I did something wrong. Truthfully, the things I bought were out of pure pressure so as they didn't think I was stealing or something. It was just completely bizarre. read more

I'll start this off by saying 2 days ago I had to put down my dog of 15 years. The past 2 days have been super difficult for me.... it's hard being home without her so I decided to walk around the mall. I stopped into Bath & Body Works because I needed some new soaps, and everyone was super helpful. One employee who really made my day was Tasha (if I remember correctly). She was really patient and kind while helping me find a new candle for my apartment. Tasha, if you're reading this, I know you didn't know my situation and my recent loss, but for the 20 minutes that I was in your store, you made feel like my normal happy self. I want to thank all the staff for being kind and offering their help as well as opinions, because I know retail is not an easy or pleasant industry. Rude rude rude say no more I was shopping and had a coupon for a free item and the item I wanted was like 50 cents more so I was willing to pay the difference and was told rudely that they can't do that when it was done for me before so since they said that I walked out and I was going to get more things so because they didn't want to take the 50 cents difference for that item you lost out on a big sale smh some people doesn't know how to conduct business read more
