I went to the Crystal Lake store to pick up an order I placed online. A gal named Michelle Kimberly offered to assist me. She was unable to locate my order. Upon looking further, she found my order had been placed at a different store. That was so strange to me because I never shop at any other B&BW. She could see I was rather upset that i had made this mistake. However, she set my mind at ease by telling me she would check if they had the stock in her store and simply fill it there. Wouldn't you know she found everything I wanted. In addition, she helped me choose what I could get with my Free birthday item in my account. After all of that, she cancelled my other order for me and made sure I got the notification. Michelle turned a moment when I felt stupid about making a mistake into a pleasant experience. Clean and organized store, but I usually drive all the way to Algonquin or McHenry to avoid the rude cashiers. Every single time I have to apologize for wanting to buy items and disrupting their day. The cashier on Feb 4th, 2026 around 12 was so unbelievably rude. read more

Worst experience I've ever had with any Bath & Body store. The store manager, Michelle, had the worst attitude I've ever seen. She should be a role model for her employees and I can tell you I will never go to that store again and I purchase quite a bit, especially at Christmas time. I placed an online order and for the first time I had it go to the store for pickup instead of shipping it to my home. I was simply trying to save the $7.99 shipping fee because this was the third order I was placing in the last few weeks. The order had 28 items on it. I placed the order on Friday December 8th and on Saturday December 9th they packed it and sent me my first email stating it was ready. I went to pick it up 6 days later on Friday December 15th and I was told that the order was already put back in stock. Without knowing the dates Michelle told me that we have five days to pick it up and they add a Grace day which means we have six days to pick it up. Well, I told her, we were there on the 6th day so the order shouldn't have been put back in stock until the next day. So she lied to me about that. She had attitude immediately when I said we were here one day late which meant the 6th day. She didn't even take the time to realize the order should never have been put back in stock yet. She just had attitude and wanted me out of there because she was busy. I couldn't believe I was keeping calm because normally I would have laid into her. My husband who is normally very reserved and quiet sad oh my gosh she's being such a *****, let's get out of here. I said no I want my order and I want the prices. Michelle told me she had to call corporate and I said okay call them. She also said I don't even know if we have these items. She should have had the items because according to her extra day it should have even put back yet. She then grabbed a shopping bag and rudely said she would pack the order. I told her let me pack the order because you have to call corporate. She then told me that she would give me the order and she would deal with corporate later. That's when I asked who the store manager was and she told me it was her. I then asked her if there were other store managers and she told me no she was the only one. It was at that time I told her her attitude was terrible. She packed the order brought it back to the counter and then proceeded to help two other people pick up their orders. I still couldn't believe I didn't lose my cool because here I am with $150 order and she's helping somebody else pick up their items when I had already been in the store now for about 20 minutes. You would think, by her poor and rude attitude that she was a very young immature woman. She wasn't. For her to lose her cool without me saying a word tells you this Bath and Body Works store has the wrong manager. I will take my business to the Geneva store because I will never walk in the store again. The store also lost out on me buying six more candles because my husband wanted to get out of there so bad. A good store manager would pick up the phone and tell the customer that we needed to pick the order up. At that time she would have found out that my sister-in-law passed away on the 9th. I would have told her I would be in ON THE 6TH day to pick up. I wonder how much other sales the store loses because of this terrible store manager, Michelle. She obviously is TOO comfortable in her position. read more

I had a wonderful experience shopping at this Bath and Body Works location for the candle sale. I only waited in line for maybe 5 minutes to get into the store. The sales associates were very willing to help me find what I was looking for and were very kind as well. The woman who checked out my order at the checkout/register was so helpful and friendly, too! She showed me how to best use my coupons and even waited patiently for me to grab another item. I had a wonderful experience at this store and I will be back! This location is always clean, well stocked, and every employee I've encountered has been friendly and helpful. Some of these nasty reviews tell me more about how they probably treat retail workers than they do about the employees. This will continue to be my go-to store. read more

I was so nice to the employees because I didn't want to be a hassle but was met with nothing but rudeness. The Slatkin candles just keep getting better and better. The winter ones were awesome, and made my house all cozy and festive... ...then they come out with the Spring candles in the dead of winter (early Feb) and I get excited for warmer weather. But it's all a hoax you see! The candles come out and even though it's crappy outside, B&BW is all "ooo come buy our candles to remind you of warmer weather even though its 20 degrees and grey skies" .. so what do you do?? Buy the candle called "Beach Cabana" and dream of summer and hate the world because you live in CHICAGO!! read more

This place is ok. I notice when I come in on days where I look like a bum (sweat pants and a hoodie with my hair in a bun) coming in ... I am invisible. Then, there are days were I am dressed casual like today and they wanna attack me with " Do you need help with anything?" And I'm like in my mind ... oh gosh you can see me today? The point I'm trying to get across is ,it shouldn't matter what I am wearing to be approach by an employee ...as long as I am shopping there , I should get the same treatment every time I walk through that door. There were times I do not mind being a ghost in the place and there were times I have coupons and have questions and the lady is busy stalking items minding her business and another time she was totally in my way stocking car scents and did not care if I was waiting for her to finish so I can grab one. She did not care about my present there and ignore the acknowledgment that I was even right there! As an employee, she could of been ," I am sorry that I am in your way." Or " I'm sorry , it'll take a few minutes to stock these" or " Im sorry let me move out your way." But none of that was said . I was invisible. I be Casper the ghost on some days at this location and some days I be feeling famous being hit do I need help with anything , them telling me about deals and etc. You get the picture . Overall, I love bath and body works foam hand soap and their shower gel. It's one of the holy grail I need when I run out. Anyways, I will give props , to the employees working today on March 29, 2019 since I was asked if I needed help and they gave my kids them bunny ears and didn't mind them touching all the hand soaps while smelling them. This is also one of them days I was dressed casual too. (Laughing internally) Anyways, loved the $3.00 handsoap deal today although I wish it could have been the $2.95 deal, but this one is still a deal also. read more

Michelle at the check out helped me tremendously! She was very nice and settled my problem. I went to the Mchenry location and one lady in the front refused to help me and gave me so much attitude. So I had to drive all the way to crystal lake to get it figured out. Very disappointed. I have worked in retail for 6 years and would never treat a customer how I was treated.
