So I took my mom to get a wig fitting because she wanted to have some fun wigs. We had a sales clerk name, Aaliyah, wonderful, wonderful person. The lady was fabulous patient with my mom and me you know sometimes we struggle a little with mobility so she took her time she made notes. She wrote everything down so we come for our next visit. It'll be easy for my mom to eliminate the things she didn't like because she narrowed it down to a couple, and that way we can retry them on and get a better feel for what is going to be a good fit for her but the sales clerk was fantastic so patient so kind easy-going assisting with color look shape style I can't say enough about how wonderful this girl was I highly recommend if you are in need of some wig For Fun for health for whatever your reason is this is a good place and they had so much cute stuff in the store. Wendy helped me try on wigs in the store, since I have hair loss due to cancer. The wigs did look nice in the store, but needed a styling and referred me to Blush in Crystal Lake to style the wigs. Blush is very expensive and not for the older woman. The wigs are in the closet on their heads and need some styling by someone who knows how to style for a woman over 60. Lulu's Wiggin Out should be very careful about making recommendations. The wigs were well over $1200.00 and are useless sitting in the closet. I'm not sure Wendy is the right person to be helping cancer survivors choose wigs. read more

I have been meaning to write this review for awhile now. I'm giving Lulu's 3 stars because while I think their merchandise is great, I wasn't in love with the staff. My mom is a breast cancer patient and I accompanied her to Lulu's while she was looking for a wig. After wig shopping, we stayed to shop the rest of the store. During this time my mom and I overheard the two associates discussing my mom's hair and how 'gross' it was. The conversation was loud enough for my mom and I to hear plus other shoppers. As if my mom wasn't feeling insecure enough, she had to overhear these people talking about her condition this way. I was really disappointed in what went down. We were under the impression one of Lulu's specialities was working with chemo patients. We won't be returning to a place where we feel judged and made fun of. read more

I try and visit Lulu's Wiggin Out in Crystal Lake a couple times a year. I live in Sleepy Hollow, so the location is near. This shop is very hip, eclectic, fun, and personable. Their primary business is wigs, primarily for woman who are cancer survivors and lost their hair from medical procedures. Therefore, the wigs offered are totally top of the line, and the owner and associates are very compassionate for these special needs. I simply shop Lulu's to browse their funky jewelry, clothing, purses, beach and mermaid décor, and new finds that Lulu merchandises! Since I always dress up for Halloween, and absolutely adore wearing wigs this one season per year - Lulu's is the store I choose for top of the line wigs. Sure, I always can buy online or Spirit of Halloween for cheap wigs, but I would rather patronize Lulu's for their unique offerings and quality. This year I had in mind a "white" bob-type hairstyle wig - similar to the wigs rock star "Sia" or "GaGa" sport. Since Lulu just started displaying their Halloween wigs, they actually checked their stock downstairs for me and brought upstairs all their "white" Halloween wigs!!! I picked the exact wig I had in mind. The big plus was that the Halloween wigs was 20% off due to the seasonal discount for Halloween!!! All "hip" woman should check this store out - their merchandise, although slightly pricier than some other boutiques, find product that is original, well-made, and simply lovely!!! read more

This will be a unique review --definite highs and lows. First the highs --very interesting mix of unique items . Some things you wouldn't find elsewhere. The low to this--very busy, complicated and messy display. It's almost overwhelming . One needs to be in the right mode to deal with this. If you're an organized person who likes a controlled environment, Leave! Ha ha. The ladies there, at the start seem very kind and helpful. This seems to be the case until you have an issue with something . Then the air gets chilly and the open doors seem to slam down. During my visit I witnessed a very sensitive and kind reception and handling of a lady with cancer who came to pick out a wig. I was impressed by this . I did bring my own mother about 8 years ago to be fitted by a wig. That didn't go well--the wig was an embarrassment (looked horrible AND wiggy) and the cost was through the roof. I would suggest coming here to get an idea about what you like and then go to "Namebrandwigs.com" and buy what you want for a very very small fraction of what you'd pay here --for real ! There was a little baby in a high chair behind the register, eating while I was there . I loved this sense of family--genuinely. Great touch! I found a blouse amongst the chaos that I really loved. I believe it's the unique items that people get hooked on that keep this place going ! The blouse looked all puckered and possibly "pulled" or snagged. Not at all wearable. When I brought this to their attention, the icy reception came back . I was dismissed with "it's no big deal, it's water marks from our steamer, wash it and it'll come out". I was surprised by this. I loved the top enough to want it to work. I told them I'd be willing to try it but if they didn't come out, I'd return it . Then I was quickly told "no refunds, exchanges only!" I said "really?! Even if it's damaged ?" She said "yes". The lady seemed nervous at the same time. She inquired with who I imagined was the owner who agreed to a refund IF it was damaged. I checked out and had sticker shock! Almost $70 for a cotton blouse that I had to work on before I could even wear it!!! No offer of a discount for this --as most places Would do!! Again, if I hadn't gotten hooked on the product, I would've just dropped it ! I believe they count on this . Like I said, highs and lows!! My range of feelings in this place is about as conflicting and confusing as the display is. I don't agree with the smaller $$ rating ! I'd give it a $$$$$ read more

If you are in need of a "out of the norm" gift for your wife, mom, daughter, what have you, please do yourself a favor and go to Lulu's Wiggin Out. This place has things I never knew existed. There is a huge boat in the back of the store with clothes, bags, jackets, all kinds of things hanging from it. They do also have all different styles of wigs and crazy hats too. The hats are really fun to try on because some are so big and beautiful. But don't be confused, they are not cheap. I've seen some pretty pricey items here, but again, you won't find these gems in any other store. The merchandise is always changing with the seasons and it is especially fun to check Lulu's out during Halloween and the Holidays. I'm glad boutiques like this exist, its makes shopping that much more fun! read more

This place is completely a rip off!! Stay away!!!! Wigs are way too expensive! The cost is through the roof!! For $380 I paid for my wig (very simple, short and straight hair wig, not human hair), I realized there is no tag, no label, no instruction on the wig or the box when I got home and took a look at inside of wig and the box! There is absolutely zero information on what type of wig, what material, what brand or manufacturer for the wig I purchased from Lulu's Wiggin Out, plus they got me to sign the waiver! Somehow I didn't ask the staff why I needed to sign the waiver as at the moment I felt intimidated by the store staff. Staff didn't tell me any information about the wig, all I know is not human hair, and the only information I got from the store is the wig coming from California that's why I had to pay $10 shipping fee for. Now I realized that the reason they ask customers to sign the waiver is to make sure no returns, no refund, no exchange no matter what happens, even if it's very bad quality or you have allergic reaction or under any circumstance! they take absolutely no responsibility or liability for any and all wigs they sell to customers, that might be the reason they took all identifying tag/label off from my wig and the box so I can't possibly trace it for the material, manufacturer, quality or the price!!!! It's pretty scary how they do business like this and how they treat customers specially a cancer patient like me, gives me chills when I think about it.....!! It's sickening to take advantage of cancer patients like us, haven't we been through enough already??!! read more

Made her feel so comfortable...great selection ...a horrible thing to have to go through turned into a fun day. They seriously were amazing! I had a great experience here. I would like to say Thank You for the great service by Wendy. She was helpful, informative and pleasant. She was very patient with me as I struggled to make up my mind. I walked in scared, I'm starting to lose my hair from chemotherapy treatment and really had no idea what I wanted. I had struck out w/ attempting to buying a wig online, so I finally went into a wig shop. The women that helped me I found to be not so nice, w/ her 1st question! She never smiled, kept quickly throwing a few wigs on my head. When I asked questions to what she was referring to about the wig, she said, Oh, IDK! Seriously? I felt rushed, uncomfortable & even though my gut screamed, JUST LEAVE! Nope, I'm too nice, & thought maybe she was having a bad day. There was no one else in the darn store, so I don't know what the freaking rush was? I made a HUGE MISTAKE & took $ I had been saving & bought one. (Listen to your gut) UGH. Now, I have to spend a ton of money on a wig that does NOT look great on, to wear in public. (it doesn't even have clips in the wig, what's suppose to tighten your wig, slips & she said, oh just put a few stitches in that area. Why should I HAVE TO DO THAT?) So, I need to buy a ton of things that I have to do to get the wig to look good & secure enough to wear out. I have been feeling sick w/ my horrible decision. I own that. However, come on, get educated about the wigs, smile, take your time w/ customers, don't be so blunt w/ personal questions. I will never go back there, horrible customer service! read more

I was in not too long ago, and I had a $5.00 off coupon on my iPhone....the lady told me what was not on sale was Lake Girl and Cha Cha dresses....so with that I found a nice pair of earrings, the associate found the price for them for me, and I agreed with it and then all of sudden nope can't get the earrings, because this particular brand the manager sells privately?!? So why are they in the store? Really Disappointed! I have been a customer with them for a long time, I enjoy the shop. It will be awhile until I come back. read more

I have been to several wig shops and LuLu's Wiggin Out is the best! They have the most wigs on display than any other store that I have been to. The owner is a breast cancer survivor and I had the honor of meeting her while I was there. Her staff was also extremely helpful and very kind. Would rate a zero if I could. My sister and I went in last week to try on some wigs. The lady who was working was very rude from the start. Asked us if we need help with anything and my sister asked to use the rest room because we drove 40 minutes to get there drinking our iced coffees. She seemed exasperated to help but pointed toward the bathroom. While I asked if we could try on some wigs. She replied "we don't really do that here. We don't really do that for fun. I have an appointment in 20 minutes." Then she walked away. We left, baffled because it clearly stated on their website "for ladies with hair loss or simply just for fun". But I thought you sold wigs? So how can I buy one if I don't get the opportunity to try it on? And even it it were for fun, don't pass up an opportunity to make a sale (Missed Sales Opportunity). And DON'T explicitly advertise it on your website! Bad business. Rude staff. read more

LOVE this place, Im 18 years old and lost my hair due to Alopecia Totalis. I went into Lulu's looking for a shorter lighter wig for summer. I was immediately helped by a younger lady that could not have been nicer! I explained exactly what I wanted, I tried on a couple of different styles and colors in there private room (Which is absolutely adorable and so comfortable!) she helped me find the right color, style and length. They had to order it & it came in right on time. It was exactly what i wanted!! I had a horrible experience at the last wig shop I was at, so this was such a positive turn around! Could not be more happy with my wig and the excellent service that Lulu's provided! High recommend this place! read more

I brought my mom in to get her first wig and we weren't expecting to find one on our first time out. They have a great selection and mom actually found 2 wigs that's she really liked. I can't say enough about the staff, the young lady that helped us was so nice and very patient with us the whole time we were there. I had an appointment this morning and had such a fantastic time! Sad to be losing my hair to cancer but happy that Lulu's made me feel normal again with several of their stylish wigs! Very hard time deciding but was able to select 2 wigs and accessories. The ladies at Lulu's are so wonderful and helpful! Even if you don't need a wig they have fabulous clothes, jewelry and more.
